[5.0] "This was probably my fourth attempt at watching Impact in the last 3 years, and I have to say that while this episode wasn't 'good' it was at least acceptable, and did a good job of actually getting me excited for future Impact episodes. The production values were odd as always, with the usual fake crowd noise and camera cuts to either overly energetic fans or audience plants. That always makes Impact feel tacky. The real draw of this episode was all the promos, since the wrestling itself was rather limited. Lambert, EC3, Sydal, Drake, and Patron were all very good with their time on the mic. I honestly see a lot more conviction from these guys than, say, those in WWE. Opening match of EC3 vs Petey wasn't anything special. Basic heel work from EC3 with Petey getting some fine hope spots. Match oddly ended with the supposed babyface Sydal interfering, ruining the match for the home-country boy Petey, which was really confusing. **. Spinelli vs Van Ness was the usual rather atrocious Knockouts match we're all used to. I will at least say Van Ness plays her 'crazy' gimmick well without going overboard. *1/2. Prior to this match Allie cut a really good backstage promo, however her attack on Van Ness was terrible. Her brawling was a total joke. I really enjoyed the mic exchange between Drake and Patron, though it's still odd to see Patron placed as the 'cool' face, considering his recent public antics. Promo vid involving LAX and Callihan's stable was very cryptically produced and looked nice. The 6-man X-division match was very fun considering the time it got. Xavier and Garza really impressed. Heels were boring in control though **1/2. Lashley & KM vs Edwards & Moose was a fine main event. Lashley was a great powerhouse and arrogant heel. Eddie's agility and strikes made for many fun moments too. **1/2. After finishing this episode I'm definitely interested in watching more Impact. Let's see how long that desire lasts."
