CM Punk: "John Cena, while you lay there, hopefully as uncomfortable as you possibly can be, I want you to listen to me. I want you to digest this, because before I leave in three weeks with your WWE Championship, I have a lot of things I wanna get off my chest.

I don't hate you, John. I don't even dislike you. I do like you, I like you a hell of a lot more than I like most people in the back. I hate this idea that you're the best - because you're not. I'm the best. I'm the best in the world. There's one thing you're better at than I am and that's kissing Vince McMahon's ass. You're as good at kissing Vince's ass as Hulk Hogan was. I don't know if you're as good as Dwayne, though. He's a pretty good ass-kisser. Always was and still is. Oops - I'm breaking the fourth wall. [Er winkt in die Kamera.] I am the best wrestler in the world. I've been the best ever since day one when I walked into this company. And I've been vilified and hated since that day because Paul Heyman saw something in me that nobody else wanted to admit. Yeah that's right, I'm a Paul Heyman guy. You know who else was a Paul Heyman guy? Brock Lesnar. And he split, just like I'm splittin', but the biggest difference between me and Brock is that I'm going to leave with the WWE Championship.

I've grabbed so many of Vincent K. McMahon's imaginary brass rings that it's finally dawned on me that they're just that. They're completely imaginary. The only thing that's real is me. And the fact that day in and day out, for almost six years, I've proved to everybody in the world that I am the best on this microphone, in that ring, even on commentary. Nobody can touch me. And yet, no matter how many times I prove it, I'm not on your lovely little collectors' cups, I'm not on the cover of the program, I'm barely promoted, I don't get to be in movies, I'm certainly not on any crappy show on the USA Network, I'm not on the poster of WrestleMania, I'm not on the signature that's produced at the start of the show. I'm not on Conan O'Brien, I'm not on Jimmy Fallon, but the fact of the matter is I should be. And trust me, this isn't sour grapes, but the fact that "Dwayne" is in the main event of WrestleMania next year and I'm not, makes me sick!

Oh hey, let me get something straight. Those of you who are cheering me right now - you are just as big a part of me leaving as anything else, because you're the ones that are sipping out of those collector cups right now, you're the ones that buy those programs that my face isn't on the cover of, and then at five in the morning at the airport, you try to shove it in my face so that you can get an autograph and sell it on eBay, because you're too lazy to get a real job.

I'm leaving with the WWE championship on July 17 and hell, who knows, maybe I'll go defend it in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Maybe I'll go back to Ring Of Honor. [Punk winkt nochmal in die Kamera] Hey, Colt Cabana, how you doing? The reason I'm leaving is you people because after I'm gone you're still going to pour money into this company - I'm just a spoke on the wheel - the wheel's gonna keep turning and I understand that. But Vince McMahon's gonna make money despite himself. He's a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why he's not a billionaire? It's because he surrounds himself with glad-handing nonsensical douche bag yes-men like John Laurinaitis, who's gonna tell him everything that he wants to hear. And I'd like to think that maybe this company will be better after Vince McMahon is dead, but the fact is, it's gonna be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family.

Let me tell you a personal story about Vince McMahon. You know we do this whole bully campaign-- [Das Mikrofon wird ausgeschaltet, Punk klopft ein paar mal oben drauf und ruft dann ohne Mikro] I've been silenced!"

One of the best if not the best anti authority promos ever cut. Changed Punks trajectory in WWE and really changed the whole wrestling landscape for better or worse. References to Ring Of Honor and New Japan just put the cherry on top of this scathing promo."

From that day on Cm Punk completely change the whole pro wrestling industries! He started a revolution that nobody will believe , he paved the way for guys like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley)to become the future of professional wrestling mega stars! Even though after he leave WWE for ten long years, WWE fans still chanted his name for ten long years! Even to this day the pipebomb promo still have impact and influence many people in the wrestling world and that's why he is the best wrestler in the world!"

[10.0] "CM Punk's "Pipebomb" promo is one of the most iconic and influential promos in WWE history. It perfectly blurred the lines between reality and storyline, capturing the attention of fans worldwide. Punk spoke with honesty, edge, and charisma, calling out top stars, authority figures, and the direction of WWE itself. Every word hit with precision, building tension for months and leading directly to one of the most memorable storylines of the modern era. This promo changed the landscape of WWE storytelling and elevated CM Punk to legendary status. A flawless promo -- 10/10, timeless."

There will never be something as cutting as this, a man allowed to say whatever the hell he wanted because it would further the current story. Knowing his frustrations with WWE at the time, this leads to the most explosive promo of all time that keeps you engaged for the full ten minutes and still dominates Punk's legacy. [10.0] "Recent history both with WWE and CM Punk (both good and bad) kind of puts this promo at a weird angle for me. But I can't deny how important this promo is in the grand scheme of things, and how much of a big deal it was for someone as easily recognized as Punk to just talk about stuff that was bothering him about the very company he was sitting in the arena of. It elevated the storyline between Punk and Cena, it showed how amazing Punk was on the mic, something he still proves to this day, and did wonders for so many indie talents that were hopeful to once be in a big promotion like WWE, as it paved the way for a change in who are the top guys and reality began bleeding into characters that at the time were so PG stained and unbelievable."
sarahlicity wrote on 04.02.2024:
[10.0] "Hands down, one of the greatest promos of all time, which only poured petrol onto a white-hot story (that, in true Vince McMahon fashion, was fumbled in spectacular fashion like Mark Sanchez into his own right guard). But even with the Summer of Punk proving itself an Indian summer, even with a couple of lines becoming ironic, a lot more became prescient and a lot more inspired a rebirth in the industry. There is simply no rating you can give the promo other than full marks; a reminder of Punk at his greatest."
CorpusSkiptotelicum wrote on 28.11.2023:
[10.0] "One of the greatest promos of all time for a reason. Punk's best atribute has always been his character work and mic skills, and him letting lose like this in such a terrible era of the wwe made for one of the most exiting moments in wrestling history. Its funny though him finishing with the bully campaign line, as he's a notorious bully too."
Dynamax Dawn wrote on 27.11.2023:
[10.0] "I had only heard of this promo but never watched it myself until now, but holy shit this an awesome promo! Really the worked shoot promos to end all work shoot promos. I love that at one point he calls out the fans who are cheering him to call to get them to boo him, just excellent heel work. Also the fact that he brought up other promotions in a time when that was a big nono is huge (now under the Triple H regime it happens sometimes, but back then it just didn't happen.) The man even brought up VInce Mcmahon's death like holy shit absolutely no chill! And of course there's that millionare that should be a billionaire that has been quoted a million times since. I'm not sure if its the peacock version or it was like that during the live feed but the crowd just sort of sounds like their listening like he's got them in the palm of his hands? But I would have guessed there would be more booing or cheering or both I've never seen this brought up when talking about this promo, so I'm not sure, but either way it did not affect the rating of this promo because this could have been executed perfectly even in the pre thunderdome pandermic era, it's just that good."
Dune wrote on 02.11.2023:
[10.0] "It's still one of the greatest, most important, and most exciting promos of all time. Literally business-changing and it's difficult to explain why unless you were tapped into the WWE product at the time or acutely understand how sanitized things had become by this year. What's even more impressive about it is that, unlike its imitators, the Pipe Bomb actually served a purpose instead of popping smarks and winking to the audience. It didn't bury Cena, it furthered and enhanced the storyline, and still kept kayfabe, which is probably the most important thing about it. It's not a "worked shoot", it's a believable piece of storytelling given Punk's character at the time and the surrounding plot involving his contract ending. Really think people took the wrong lessons from this promo, but that's usually what happens when you don't spell out and beat your audience over the head with the message or intent of your art."

Love him or hate him, you have to respect the man for having the balls to go out and rip his employers to shreds on live tv, with everything thats happened in the last couple of months and the buzz the dude creates by just having an article mention him still goes to show how impactful he and this promo were to modern wrestling as a whole. Call me a mark but id call it the greatest promo of all time."

Its not funny and witty and cool like all you WrestleMarks and All Ohiout Marks think. John Laurinaitis deserves better than this stupid shit. I mean, what's wrong with my collectors cup collection, huh? Theres nothing wrong with that! Theres nothing wrong with my funko pop collection! Im just a happy consooooomer IM A CONSOOOOOMER! Man, now that punk is done ruining WWE and AEW for good, I really hope he doesn't go to Stardom Wrestling. I would be so sad I don't think I could ever watch sports entertainment ever again. The only good thing CM Punk has done for sports entertainment is bringing those WWE Ice Cream Bars back, so I can gain even more weight while watching my Hikaru promo marathons. And THAT's Keeping it Real! (Reaches down to drink my soylent, but its been replaced with MANLY JACK AND COKE) Oh man, how refreshi- OMG! IM A MAN AGAIN! All those years of chugging soylent and hikaru matches really fried my brain, Thanks Jack Daniels! Ok, this promo is pretty cool actually. I think he should've gone back to ROH for a bit and defended the title there. Wouldve been sick. Punkc also deserved that Mania main event spot that he sadly never got. Maybe when he comes back for Survivor Series he'll get it."
