[After defeating Jay White in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semifinals, a bloodied 'Hangman' Adam Page walks backstage with his belt in his hand.]

Adam Page: "I told you. Hmm. I told you. I told you. Didn't I tell you? I would win this tournament if it took everything-- EVERYTHING in me! I would give my blood, you know I'd give my blood. I've done it a thousand times over. I will probably do it a thousand times over again. I will spill every last drop that I have to win this and to take away from HIM to burn his world down. He [see Note 1] broke into my home. He THREATENED MY FAMILY! [Page hits storage containers with his belt.] We had to leave-- we had to leave our home. Do you understand what that's done to me?! And he never paid for it! He never paid for it and they loved him for it! I gave them everything I had! It's been five years. I gave them every damn thing that I had, and they chose him. They chose him.

And next I have Bryan Danielson. Our record is one and one and one, Bryan. And I can tell you this: on the three occasions we met, I was never... I was never driven... I was never as driven. I'm driven by something completely different now. I was never as driven as I am right now, you understand me? You can call it justice, you can call it hatred, I don't give a fuck what you call it... but it's all I have left. I am going to ruin you. I am going to burn you alive. There will be nothing left of you. And when I'm done, the biggest stage that we have, I am coming for you. I am coming for you." [Page turns and walks away.]

[10.0] "Unhinged raving lunatic Adam Page was so, so good. Especially since his anger was 100% justified but Swerve ended up being the face. A great promo for a great feud."

[10.0] "One of my favorite promos of all time. You could FEEL the anger and rage in Hangman here. I think it's the best promo of his career, tbh. It also highlights why I much prefer backstage promos over in-ring promos. There were no pauses for crowd reaction here or awkward cadence. It came across as someone naturally speaking and lashing out."

[10.0] "This is on the precipice of Page really LOSING IT. To this point, he was just unhinged and locked in on not just regaining the AEW World Title but making Swerve pay for what he did to his family. This was a man emotionally wrecked because we loved Swerve in spite of what he did. (Sounds kinda familiar right now with him on the other end of this and MJF asking why fans love Page in spite of literally committing arson.) This promo was amazing and Page last year was really firing on all cylinders."

[10.0] "Simply the promo of the year 2024, it's incredible. Adam Page is heartbroken that the previously cheering crowd has decided to support Swerve Strickland despite the pain he inflicted on him and his family by entering his home and standing by his child's bed. Adam Page's acting is so genuine and beautiful that he has my respect."

Perfectly explains his rationale for turning and continues his story with Swerve that is from months ago, which is something that I felt the company has struggled with in the past, but they hit this one out of the ballpark. Hangman is their biggest homegrown star and he continues to show that the company should be built with him in mind at all times. Also, it sets up his match with AmDrag and explains why this one will be different than their previous three encounters. This is the Hangman we all need from here to eternity."

[10.0] "Man, I love Hangman. I'm usually not interested in what AEW does for oh so many reasons, but Adam Page always knows how to lure me in. I was upset seeing he beat my boy King Switch and I was robbed of Bryan vs White, but after this promo? I'm genuinely interested in the fourth matchup between the Dragon and the Cowboy. Such a realistic and logical promo, filled with an amazing acting by Page, who knows damn well what to do with his character."

[6.0] "It's ok. It is intense but the content is pretty weak. "They chose him" was decent but outside of that it's all just generic. And we've seen about 50 page promos where he's whining about something so it isn't a shocking change of events. This is a good reminder that emotion alone doesn't create a classic promo. It's also a good reminder that being better than what else is generally on a show doesn't make something great in its own right."

Bongo wrote on 10.07.2024:
[10.0] "Yet another incredible promo to add to Hangman's ever expanding archive. The authenticity that he can bring to a promo is almost second to none nowadays. I love the consistency of his character since coming back, though that shouldn't be surprising since Hangman has always been invested in long-term storytelling and character work, alongside the rest of the Elite. He's knocked it out of the park since coming back and just like his loss of the title, him not being in the main event at Wembley would be one of the biggest booking blunders in AEW history."
Rocky7 wrote on 09.07.2024:
[10.0] "Some of the very best heel promos in wrestling history are by wrestlers who have justification in what they're saying. Adam Page's family home was broken into (in storyline) by Swerve Strickland (wasn't even the first time he did it, he also invaded Nick Wayne's home), and when he went for revenge, the fans decided to back Swerve, maybe because he's cooler and hadn't been champion while Hangman had, who knows. He also had regret that his mission was to stop Swerve from becoming champion, which he failed at, so now he's doing everything to be in a position to take the title from him, and he needs to defeat Bryan Danielson to get there. Hangman came off so legit in this promo, as much as Danielson for the title at Wembley Stadium in one of his last regular matches would have been a great story, Swerve vs. Hangman is hotter, and deserves Wembley as the venue for the blow-off. This was essential in setting the expectations."
GeneBlastKyodai wrote on 09.07.2024:
[10.0] "Hangmans best promo to date, that is saying a lot because Hangman has evolved from a middling wrestler who was a pin taker for bullet club into the main character of all elite wrestling. The emotion that Hangman showed in this promo was incredible, his motivations made sense and were clear. It was very similar to the yelling style of promo that MJF tries to do but on a much better level. The breaking of the belt was just the icing on the cake to one of the best short promos in history."
Dani wrote on 09.07.2024:
[10.0] "The Hangman is back, a excellent promo full of passion and hate, setting the tone to the match against Danielson. Its amazing to see how he doesnt need to say the name of Swerve anytime to know what its about this promo."
Miglanista wrote on 09.07.2024:

ParkwayDriver wrote on 09.07.2024:
[10.0] "A fantastic promo from Adam Page. While he is supposed to be a heel, everything he said was true. Understandably intense coming off of the popularity that Swerve has received since their feud, Page is on a mission. A promo that didnt need any insider references of any kind to get the program over and makes you want to see Page get to Swerve just to see what will happen next."
