[9.0] "Smackdown in 2002 and 2003 was a golden era where the show truly found its own identity. The brand split had just begun and Smackdown quickly became known for its emphasis on athletic, hard hitting wrestling. The Smackdown Six core group was delivering classics every week, but the roster depth was what made the show special. Undertaker was still a major presence, having excellent matches with guys like Brock Lesnar and helping solidify the brand. Matt Hardy reinvented himself with his Version 1 character, becoming arguably the most entertaining midcard heels in WWE. And a young John Cena was on the rise, bringing fresh energy with his early rapper persona. Paul Heyman's creative vision kept the show focused, with layered storytelling and match quality that consistently outshined Raw during this stretch. One of the best periods for any WWE brand. Smackdown felt must watch and launched or revitalized several major careers. A perfect blend of wrestling and character work."

[10.0] "The Smackdown Six era was one of the only truly great things about that period of WWE thanks in part to the genius level booking of Paul Heyman."

[10.0] "Smackdown in 2002/03 was in my opinion one of the best runs of any TV show in wrestling history and one of the biggest reaons was these six guys killing it in the ring every single week! There was many great singles matches and of course when they brought a Tag Team Division to Smackdown, these six guys all became synonymous with the belts with a great tournament ending in one of the best matches of the year with Angle/Benoit vs Edge/Mysterio and it ending in a great triple threat match at Survivor where Los Guerreros took home the gold. The wrestling was consistently at an amazing standard with all six of them."

[9.0] "The Smackdown Six. This was at the time where Raw was in the midst of Triple H's Reign of Terror and Smackdown was starting to whoop Raw's ass in terms of quality and these six gentlemen were a pivotal part in that. Angle and Benoit's rivalry was in full swing, Edge and Rey were the lovable underdogs (and IMO Rey was Edge's second best tag partner after Christian) and the Guerreros were that extra level of spice. Whenever you saw a Smackdown Six matchup, it was almost guaranteed to slap. My personal favorite match of this era was the two out of three falls match between Edge/Rey and Angle/Benoit while there were some callbacks to their excellent No Mercy match from weeks prior (seriously the spot where Edge moves out of the way of a diving headbutt from Benoit which then causes him to hit Angle was identical to the spot from No Mercy), this match was so much fun to watch. Smackdown is nowhere near as good now as it was during this era (although '09 Smackdown is nothing to sneeze at), the Smackdown Six will forever be remembered."
