[4.0] "I never thought this feud was all that good. Well, it was great for Edge who was propelled to the main event and never looked back. Matt Hardy who also should've seen a rise to singles stardom looked like a dope. The only time I thought this was exciting was when Matt was running through the crowd to interfere in Edge's matches. The line between shoot and kayfabe was blurred very well. Then Matt was brought back and cut the lamest promo he possibly could. Then he's squashed at Summerslam. The street fight ending in a no contest was stupid which means the only truly great match they had was the ladder match at Raw Homecoming. The cage match was ok but Matt still looked bad in victory. I never liked soap opera storylines real or kayfabe."

[9.0] "The Matt Hardy vs. Edge feud was lightning in a bottle -- the rare case where real-life drama bled into kayfabe and created a story that felt real because, well, it was. The betrayal, the love triangle, the online fallout -- it all set the stage for one of WWE's most emotionally charged rivalries of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Matt wasn't the company's golden boy, and that added fuel to the fire: fans wanted him to get revenge, and they weren't just invested -- they were personally attached. In-ring, the matches weren't five-star technical classics, but they didn't need to be. The hatred was palpable, the crowd reactions were nuclear, and every blow felt like it had weight. The Steel Cage match at Unforgiven 2005 stands out as a brutal, cathartic showdown where Matt finally got his moment, and the feud as a whole elevated him in the eyes of fans who already saw him as the heart-and-soul underdog. Edge went on to become a Hall of Famer. Matt became a cult legend. But for a brief, burning stretch in 2005, their feud was must-see TV, a raw and uncomfortable masterpiece that reminded fans how powerful wrestling can be when reality and fiction collide."

[6.0] "What can you really say about this feud? If you look back and take time to carefully pin point moments even with Matt Hardy's surprising attacks and they intense hatred. This was basically the, "Make Matt Hardy look as weak as possible" feud. This should had taken him to the main event but he was outshined by Edge every single time in segments. At SummerSlam he kicked his ass for 4 minutes straight and won most of the matches against Matt. It felt like it was made to make Matt Hardy look like the Ultimate Mid carder. 6/10"

I also gotta appreciate that they put the emotions beside and managed to make such an underrated rivalry. Yeah, crazy good stuff"

[8.0] "This is a feud that worked really well with the Internet community, one of those rare occasions where the smarks had a strong opinion even on a story. Matt Hardy return wasn't exactly perfect but at least this feud helped both of them to get over, ending in two different shows."
