[2.0] "One of the worst wrestling companies in recent history. I respect the idea of pushing the boundaries of what is possible in deathmatches, but they take it too far. It's not just glass and usual deathmatch weapons. They use actually box cutters and non gimmicked power tools like grinders on each other for real. They book shitty talent like The Body and Spidar Boodrow in random forests in southern US. Deathmatch companies like this where their wrestlers are not/poorly trained literally stabbing each other is why deathmatch wrestling gets such a bad reputation. They get a 2 for trying to change deathmatch wrestling."
[2.0] "I think giving IWA Deep South anything over a 3 is crazy. The stereotypes of deathmatch wrestling and even backyard wrestling are pretty true for IWADS. Theyve even brought in some bigger American deathmatch names over the years but it hasnt really helped. If IWADS did the same kinds of shows but the people on the shows could put on a decent match before being allowed to use weapons theyd probably have a better rep. But often they take guys who cant even prove deathmatch critics wrong as well as the occasional trashy shitty gimmick."
[8.0] "Manchmal sehr backyardhaft, mit einigen absoluten No Name Wresltern.
[2.0] "This is what people who hate deathmatches think of when they think of the style. They may have had one or two good Carnage Cups in the promotions infancy but they largely put a stain on the genre by pushing the limits of mutilation and it does nothing for either deathmatch wrestling or their own numbers. You get your Hoodfoots here and there these days, young guys trying to make a name for themselves, but most of the wrestlers they book are just fat untrained rednecks which very much fits with the backyard atmosphere most shows have. The owner and promoters being asshats doesn't help either, who actively hurt what could have been a decent deathmatch promotion because it definitely did have its moments back in the day, and were able to book much better than they do now but it's modern XPW now."
[4.0] "They can put on good matches and shows, the problem is they take it to far and to often with stabbings and amputations that are on purpose, thats insane."
[4.0] "The equivalent of modern American garbage wrestling. Their premier show is the Carnage Cup, a violent for violence sake tournament that has maimed and nearly killed more than a dozen wrestlers over its 11 incarnations. Topped off with carney promoters and this show become the example of how not to book a company. Seriously when renown death match workers won't darken your door and you are forced to use glorified backyarders and hungry young boys there is a problem."
[6.0] "They have some good deathmatch wrestlers at IWA Deep South. Carnage Cup is a decent event, but it looks very backyard-ish compared to IWA East Coast "Masters of Pain" or CZW "Tournament of Death" or GCW "Tournament if Survival. " There isn't a lot of good technical wrestling or high-flying in IWA Deep South as there is in CZW or IWA East Coast or GCW. They still do have some good hardcore, but the venue they run in looks like it is in someone's basement and the ring itself does not look good either. However I like hardcore wrestling, they do some really crazy spots and crazy bumps, but the wrestlers don't look as professional or trained as well as some other hardcore promotions."
[7.0] "Seems to be closed again. Brennan apparently has cancelled the 2019 Carnage Cup due to not being able to find a building, and the official Carnage Cup acount on twitter has been removed. Very sad. I loved me some Carnage Cup."
[8.0] "Some of the matches put on by IWA Deep South I admit have been total trash. But some of the matches and Carnage Cups have been brilliant. (e. g Carnage Cup 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 11) Its just a real shame that they don't draw very big crowds."
