[2.0] "Acclaim, wow, I remembered that all the wrestling NES games were made by LJN (well, LJN would end up being bought by Acclaim so it will be full circle in a few years). This...can be worse. The next few installments will be unplayable. But we are not there yet as a playable videogame. The license does the job way more"

[4.0] "Fun for nostalgia and playing as your favorite wrestlers, with catchy NES tunes, but clunky controls, frustrating mechanics, and limited gameplay make it more of a novelty than a solid wrestling game"

[1.0] "I can go on and on with this game's many issues. 1. The movement being some of the clunkiest shit ever. 2. The collision detection is infuriating. 3. The CPU is frustrating as all hell, switching between wandering around the ring and melting away your energy in seconds by spamming strikes before you have a chance to counteract. (Bam Bam and Honky Tonk in particular) 4. You can lose energy by doing attacks. 5. The Running Attack is usually assigned to the same button as the Run itself. 6. You can only do a bodyslam if you've got more energy than the opponent (that's the only grapple in this game BTW, assuming your wrestler of choice even has one) 7. Diving moves do exist, but only on the bottom left/right turnbuckles. 8. 1 loss in Tournament mode and its back to the title screen, no continues. To sum it up, you'll be spending more time wrestling with the controls and mechanics than you are actually wrestling your opponent. This is just one example of how a wrestling game is hard to get right with very limited buttons and a small ROM size. Only things worth a point are wrestlers actually looking like themselves in-game, plus having moveset and performance differences (unlike, say, Steel Cage Challenge), and the cheesy but catchy NES renditions of various WWF tunes. I suggest just sticking to Nintendo's own Pro Wrestling if you really need graps on your NES. Hell, you'll find more enjoyment out of the WCW game and that's just a reskin."

[5.0] "WWF Wrestlemania is a fun game to play for the nostalgic value. This was the humble beginnings of WWF games. The gameplay is not too great. Just two wrestlers kicking in the air with bonus items jumping to the ring. Graphics are pretty good for NES. You can tell which wrestler is which. Pinning your opponent is always pain but besides that the game is way too easy."
