AEW TBS Championship

[4.0] "The AEW TBS Championship has not done much for Tony Khan's womens division. Jade Cargill, still very green, defending this in short matches that it only made it worse. Kris Statlander tried elevating but had only a bit of time to try. Julia Hart was just not ready to carry a singles championship with a lackluster HOB reign. Willow's first reign barley had time to set in, and Mercedes, try as she might, gave the TBS Championship some lineage with her "Belt Collecting" and defended this belt like her life depended on it, but it doesn't save the championships lineage and lackluster start. Hopefully Willow can bring this championship mojo as Mercedes did, but as of right now, this is just not a good start for a womens midcard championship."

[4.0] "Basically a prop title for most of it's existence. Jade couldn't lose or wrestle so mostly had nothing squash matches with jobbers for 500 days. Mercedes hasn't had a proper feud since harley cameron 8+ months ago. That takes a significant chunk of time where nothing compelling is happening. Julia was an interesting choice at the time and Stat had some good matches, that was probably the peak, but women in AEW get like 10 minutes a Dynamite so it's hard to tell compelling stories with that glass ceiling."

[8.0] "Having two super long title reigns in the span of two years has hurt this title in my honest opinion. Even though I've enjoyed Mercedes reign & matches it's time she drops & hopefully at worlds end. After that there needs to not be a long title reign in a very long time"

[7.0] "Ignoring the Jade Cargill Era, this is a very good title full of good champions defending often in good matches. We can't, however, fully disavow the early days where this was simply a tool to showcase a very limited Jade Cargill. While Mercedes has had the belt locked down for a year and a half now, she's defended it 24 times, and it's served as the cornerstone of her Belt Collector gimmick. The person who takes it from her will get a rub that far exceed the (current) 5.26 rating this is showing."

[8.0] "Pretty good lineage with decent to good reigns. Kris Standlander's reign was amazing but Mercedes elevated this title to it sometimes feeling on par with the women's world championship. It's (match-wise) one of the best reigns in all of wrestling, with a great story ending the reign this could be the best women's reign."

[9.0] "Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone have all helped make this Championship great, Statlander with her workhorse reign in 2023, WIllow with her month long reign of bangers, and Mercedes Mone, with her Generational reign over the past year have made a title with a short lineage, come off as a big prize to win."

[9.0] "Just when Mercedes had this title, it adjusted the relevance of TBS ascendingly; she made it more famous and prestigious... The belt looks so good with its gold, which looks stunning and very elegant... Looking forward to more title defenses at this one...On the contrary, Jade's undefeated streak made it look beautiful too, I guess. And I hope we can have some BANGER matches for this title, and I'm looking forward to it... Regarding to Mercedes' immediate title shot for the TBS, it'd been quite unfair for some AEW Women wrestlers too, which some people criticizes about (WE'RE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT THAT ANYMORE, I HOPE SO...)."

[5.0] "It's very unfortunate to say but the AEW TBS Women's Championship doesn't really have a lot of class to it's name and it's sad to see why. The reign was cursed when it was given to a very green Jade Cargill who held the title for a year and a half and had ONE decent defense while the rest were squashes or crap matches. Despite other title holders since then Mercedes Mone has to be the best and current holder so far...Trying to make the title mean something despite the mixed linage. Her matches have been consistently good and we've gotten some entertaining moments. [**3/4]"

[6.0] "Started out terrible but in the last year it's actually at many times been treated better than the women's title with it on Mercedes and it's been elevated to almost equal. The next champion should not be a mid carder and this title should now be the 1B to the women's title"

[3.0] "Unnecessary long reigns have done so much damage to this titles perception when it's a mid card open challenge title that should change hands on the regular. The fact that only 5 champions exists in the lineage over the 3 years is ridicilous. Cargill's reign was the worst, absolutely terrible nothingburger of a reign. Current Mone run has overstayted its welcome long time ago and ain't doing much for me. Willow was a transitional champion for some reason and Julia had a poor run. Stat was the only one that I could get into and that's due to the consistently good matches she's had where I felt like she's the only one that had put some importance to this title."

[8.0] "Mercedes really helped this title kick start and gain some prestige by holding it. From time to time it feels even bigger than the women's world title. I hope they continue to keep this title in the spotlight even after they found the right person to take the title of Moné whom instantly be a huge thing"

[10.0] "The AEW TBS Championship feels iconic to me because it represents something more than just another title; its a symbol of the evolution of womens wrestling in AEW. From the moment it was introduced, it stood out with its stunning design, but more importantly, it carved out a space specifically for women to shine in their own right, separate from the AEW Womens World Championship. Also, it creates more opportunities for women to tell stories, build rivalries, and have moments in the spotlight. I'm all for it!"

[8.0] "The title suffered from its start with Jade's reign. 508 days of mid matches with little build was hard. But since then it's been getting elevated, and now Mercedes has been having great matches. I think the rating deserves a big update as the bad reviews may not be relevant anymore."

[8.0] "This title has been elevated to such an extent that it is on almost even footing with the women's world title in AEW. Mercedes has had several stellar matches with it, as did Willow and Statlander before her. It is far from its debut as a vehicle for Jade Cargill. I really do think it's turned into a really good belt to highlight good workers."

[8.0] "I think Jade Cargill's reign really damaged this title to begin with. 508 days on a virtual rookie is a fantastic way to make a belt stink. But ever since, this thing has been a real highlight. Like a workhorse women's belt, a major distraction from the grand arching stories of the big world titles. Similar to the international title, in that way."

[5.0] "At this time, this title is nothing more than an accessory with zero prestige or competitiveness. It has solely existed as a prop to keep Jade in the title scene. However, because of her limited experience, defenses of this belt have been limited to squashes and the occasional match that goes over 5 minutes. Feuds are restricted to undercard or the occasional midcard performers, so none of them get any real heat, as booking any of the much more experienced upper card ladies to lose to Jade would be nonsensical. This locks out a huge portion of the AEW women and has them competing solely for the only other existing female title. Until this belt is given to someone who can genuinely put on competitive matches, it will stay undesirable. Update 2025: The belt is much improved since the days of Cargill. Statlander and especially Mone have made the belt feel more desirable and the belt that has the better match quality surrounding it. Still think it has a ways to go but that's on the booking and Tony Khan marginalizing the women still."

[7.0] "Mone's been doing a solid job bringing actual prestige to the title. Several matches that bring attention to the younger talent in the women's division such as Aminata, Anna Jay, and Statlander ranging from solid to spectacular (with the obvious exception of the match against Britt) and the title served as an excellent catalyst for Statlander's and Willow's feud. There's still a lot of work to be done though with all the prior reigns being either bad (Jade and Julia's) felt like there were barely any stories being told with it (Kris') or were just a tranistional period (Willow's) but right now, Mercedes' current run turned what was easily my least favorite title into one that I'm really interested in."

[8.0] "This rating might go back down later, but I think 8.0 reflects the level that Mercedes has brought the title to currently. Willow, Kris, and Julia's title reigns were nice as well and I think those four more than made up for the toy belt for Jade that the title started as."

[4.0] "A championship belt that has YET to reach it's potential primarily due to being relatively new and also on top of that, being held for too long by Jade Cargill, who didn't improve much in-ring during her reign. The title has seen new walks of life since being dropped by Jade and we've seen a great upper mid-card wrestler like Kris Statlander, an up-and-coming wrestler with a very interesting character in Julia Hart, a very promising and very over babyface in Willow Nightingale, and one of the biggest women's wrestlers in the last 10 years in Mercedes Mone hold the belt. However, the problem at heart still lies with booking as TK has never been known for being a "good" booker when it comes to women's wrestling. Therefore, the title will have to be ranked low for the time being (I'll come back to this rating in a year or two), though I believe this title since being dropped by the first holder has been booked better than the Women's World Championship."

[10.0] "Ever since Jade lost the title, i felt like this title became an afterthought. However, Mercedes winning the belt did wonders for this championship. People started paying attention to this title ever since she won it in May 2024. With 10 successfully defenses in under 200 days (along with Jade's 508 day reign), AEW showed how crucial a TV championship can be for women as well. Currently, this championship is getting more exposure and importance than the AEW Women's World Championship. In 2024, so many top stars of AEW (Mercedes along with Willow, Britt, Stephanie, Kris and Shida) have come up to build the title's reputation with amazing feuds and matches."

[8.0] "cedes bought ths title on great level as TNT Title 2020-2021, she have so many defenses and she didnt had even 100 days title regin shes great storyteller and shes great in ring too, I hoping for long regin of her i love her character and i am so happy that shes back to ring i cannot wait for britt vs cedes"

[8.0] "Went from arguably the most forgettable belt in AEW sans the FTW title to the level of prestige the TNT belt held back in 2020-2021. I really can't give Willow enough credit for elevating that belt as high and as quickly as she did. Hopefully it continues to stay on this level as the women's division has been the best it's ever been due in large part to the way this belt has been booked."

[7.0] "Preposterous rating for this belt, mainly because people hated Jade I guess. This is a good midcard womens title that was used to push homegrown talents, ofc it's not the WWWA world championship or stardom's red belt but it's not a bad title at all..."

[4.0] "Mercedes Mone just won the belt, and ever since Jades reign (which I didnt even care for), the title has kinda just been like an after thought or a consolation prize. Stantlanders reign was forgettable, putting the belt on Julia was the right thing to do at that time, but she got hurt towards the end of her reign and that kinda hurt it. Willow was a transitional champion.This reign is a crucial reign for this belt, it could be elevated and actually mean something, or it could remain the same and just be nothing, if it were up to me, id merge it with the womens world title, but I dont think Tony is ready to give up on it yet."

[7.0] "I think this title gets a bad rep, its actually been on the come up ever since Jades reign ended and looking at the list of champions. It's a great list with Jade being an inagural to babyface willow now, Julia killed it but unfortunately had her injury and then Kris will be a future women's champion. Overall this has not been a bad title run"

[7.0] "The Jade Cargill reign justly gets a lot of criticism, but between Julia Hart's strong heel run, Willow Nightingale absolutely killing it as a babyface, and Mercedes Moné setting her sights on the title immediately after her entry into AEW, this title is getting some serious rehabilitation..."

[6.0] "For a long while this was the Jade belt with her 500+ day reign possibly being a little too long. Match quality of these defenses variies greatly with some being very good and others being hard to watch."

[6.0] "Belt is finally on the come up after Jade Cargill's endless reign of squashing jobbers. To be fair, she did have a few decent defenses, and I blame much of her boring reign on Tony Khan's disinterested booking. He could've given her some kind of interesting story lines. Even if she wasn't so great in the ring, some good stories would've helped carry the reign. But Statlander had some nice matches and now Julia has the belt and Tony seems to be making at least some effort to give the belt some intrigue."

[9.0] "This title has really been elevated throughout 2023, being more interesting than the main womens belt at several points throughout the year. Im aware this opinion is unpopular but Jades reign was great, shes a star and the belt did everything for her that it needed to. But her losing the belt finally gave meaning to the belt in a context divorced from Jade. She lost to Kris after stacking her wins, the new defeater of the undefeated. Kris reign was strong and convincing. The upper card women are finally allowed to show interest in the belt or in the champion now that Jades reign is over. Julia taking it off Kris without pinning her was great. Julia is one of the best in AEW right now and right as a title holder. Very excited to see what shes going to do with this belt the upcoming year and what challengers will come in to face her."

[9.0] "Although Jade Cargill's reign has been incredibly boring with her mainly fighting jobbers and no real coherent storyline. We have finally made it out of this 508-day forest, and so far Statlander's reign has been a significant upgrade from Jade and also more entertaining as it actually progresses storylines (e.g.The outcasts). I see good things for the future of the TBS championship and hopefully, it will reach the standards that it has the potential to reach in the future."

[8.0] "If this was 2022 I would have rated it lower but Kris Statlander has brought some prestige to the championship. A lengthy title reign doesn't mean nothing if the matches are not worth a crap. Jade Cargill's reign was impressive when you look at the number of days she held the title but the matches themselves were not anything to jump in the air over. As a matter of fact, I think its safe to say every AEW fan could have done without the reign, it's not like it's something anyone really had any joy over anyways. However, Kris Statlander has brought some prestige to the belt and is having some really good matches defending it on an almost weekly basis. Statlander really is an amazing wrestler and if anything I liked about Cargill's reign it is that they chose Statlander to be the one to end it. They never faced off for the title before that and her defeating Cargill really made her star rise. Cargill did the right thing on the way out as well by putting her over once again which makes Statlander's star even higher. I can see Statlander possibly being the one to pass Cargill's reign but the difference will be, it will be a memorable one. Think of Orange Cassidy's first reign with the International Championship. That is what I want to see out of Statlander's reign with the TBS title."

[7.0] "Though the TBS title was largely defended by Jade Cargill in sub-five minute squash-type matches during 2022 and most of 2023), it still served an important role in establishing her as a major force in the division. Most of the PPV defenses were fine, but the feuds never seemed to elevate the competitors. Statlander's reign is already reinventing the legacy of the TBS title as a "workhorse" title, and her willingness to do TV on any of the three AEW programs should make it easy for her to tell fun stories with the title."

[7.0] "after being the Jade Cargill title, Kris Statlander is turning the championship into the workhorsewomen title that should have been from day one. After winning that Kirs challenged everyone and in every show, that's what a secondary title should be. not hate the title, hate the booking"

[3.0] "I just do not quite understand what it is for? AEW struggle booking compelling storylines and high quality matches for the main womens belt and those problems are multiplied with this one. It exists for no real reason other than to mirror the mens TNT title. Give it an identity and a reason to care about who holds this and I will re-evaluate."

[3.0] "I'm happy that there's a title for the women that doesn't have the word women's championship. It's a pity both of the champions are basic wrestlers. Jade was too green to be the inaugural champion. Didn't improve much or did anything for the championship."

[3.0] "I cant remember a single feud Jade had while holding this belt, the prestige at this point is purely her undefeated streak. When Jade eventually loses the belt it will need to be a big deal and Tony Khan will need to put more effort into booking the belt and not just really on a winning streak. Updated Now we have the second champion who is about 3 months into her reign and basically exactly the same thing, the only change is Kris has slightly better matches, but really that's not saying much. Maybe this "feud" with Ruby Soho will get the belt somewhere but atm this title feels like possibly the least important in all of AEW."

[1.0] "Worst title in AEW. I legit can't remember the last time I've seen Kris (except one single Best Friends interview where she didn't talk) or the title being defended. Jade was awful but was what Brock Lesnar could've been if Brock cared. Tons and tons of squash matches. You know what? I actually prefeer Jade's booking over Brock's. The problem is that this title is an afterthought"

[4.0] "This title is an amazing idea.. A way to get women lower on the card not quite deserving of the top spot yet a belt and put them over... Yet, the way the powers that be book this belt make it almost useless. Jade Cargill took down jobber after jobber weekly on rampage with this belt which made for a lot of bathroom break type matches and this belt not really being cared about at all. Kris Statlander holds it now, and we've hardly even seen her face a worthy opponent and she's held it for over 3 months as of me writing this review. Like some things in AEW, the TBS championship is an amazing idea that shows promise but yet falls short and ends up disappointing us all."

[3.0] "The original International title. Endless matches week after week for no reason but to get over the incumbent champion. However, because the company has so many belts, the actual belt doesn't have any importance so they might as well have done the crazy push sans the belt and put it to better use elsewhere. Obviously it was necessitated by the greenness of the original champion, but at least this title's matches were kept short in the middle of the show or even on the B show. And then they even botched the first title change by managing to end the reign of a 500 day champion with a loss to a big returning babyface and not getting any heat!"

[6.0] "A womens mid card title is an excellent idea. Its just been dragged down because Jade has had it for so long, and because as high as AEW are on her, shes still green as goose shit. Its time for her to take a loss and drop the title. Then once theres some consistency with it, the title can earn a fair rating. EDIT: now that Jade has lost and Statlander is the current champion, the title doesnt feel like the bathroom break championship it once did. Kris has been able to put on competitive matches and make the championship feel more important than it was before (and Ill admit, Jade made that title feel big). Looking forward to where the title goes from here."

[2.0] "Joke of a title. And an even bigger joke when we think about the fact that this is a TV title, in other words, a workhorse title. And the person Tony chose to hold such a title as the inaugural champion is a green af woman who can't wrestle and spent 500 DAYS squashing people and almost botching in every one of those 3 min squash matches. This title has 0 real feuds, just endless open challenges against the same challengers with no momentum."

[10.0] "I like the fact of a heal champion confident enough to fight anyone anytime. Even after a really tough match against a veteran opponent who is as well traveled as Taya Valkyrie. It went about how you would think but it got the crowd hyped and they were entertained."

[6.0] "I can't remember how long ago it was when I first stated that Jade Cargill's run was getting stale and that they were waiting for Kris Statlander to return to take the title off her, but it was certainly many months ago, and sure enough that's what happened. Credit to Cargill for how long she lasted, but her quality of opponents was not credible, the best person she faced was Ruby Soho when she won it. We should get some great workrate with Stat holding the title now."

[7.0] "The way they just gave this to Statlander redeems like half the boring defenses Jade has had (most of which only happened because Stat was injured right before she was going to get it), and I didn't hate Jade with this title, they just legitimately ran out of stuff to do with the reign while waiting for Stat."

[6.0] "A mixed bag for sure. On one hand, the title was established a year and half ago, and has only had one champion, which serves well in the sense of establishing a championship, if the championship was just hot potatoed around, it would not have had any value. Jade Cargill has had 24 defenses, so she's defended it regularly. On the other hand, Cargill, while she's come along quite a bit, is not the best person to establish the championship. Too many of these matches featured matches against enhancement talent that don't need or shouldn't be getting title matches."

[6.0] "it does its job, honestly. it's going to be BIG when jade loses it. also, god forbid black women do anything."

[0.0] "This title is a joke. FTW title has at least history and potential but THIS ? Jade is average at best and she is being pushed way to much. I hope that Ruby Soho or Athena will win this title and give it some life."

[0.0] "What is the point of this title? 500 days of a competent at best wrestler doing mostly sub par 5 minute matches 9 out 10 of which are not good. Jade has the presense to maintain her streak of course, but having her mow through talent has only increased the value of beating her rather than giving any actual prestige to this title. It can't even be considered a secondary womens title because this is just a thing for Jade to hold so that she doesnt go for the AEW Womens title and lose her streak."

[0.0] "Jade Cargill should had never won that title. TK should had never created this title if he was going to be serious on having a secondary title for the women's division. There is nothing memorable about Jade Cargill title reign. In fact, her reign has to be the worst in AEW/women's history. Hopefully Jade drops the title and someone can make the title feel special."

[6.0] "I just don't like the idea of big giant TBS logo on the front of the belt. Be tasteful and put on the side like the old TV title yesterday Year. Jade Cargill has had pretty good run with it but some matches are lackluster."
