[8.0] "In my recent vuewings this belt hasn't felt as important as it ought to, however the lineage here is excellent. I liked Hammerstone, and I feel like it had to have been great in the hands of Kojima, Awesome, Low Ki, and Swerve/Shane, but I wasn't around for much of that eta and can't speak to it. Always surprises me with how this things booked, that, it does carry such prestige and luster."

[7.0] "MLW's World Title is one of the officially recognized world titles by PWI, and for good reason. During MLW's initial run, the title was awarded to ECW-era mainstays like Shane Douglas, Mike Awesome, and Steve Corino. Yet once the title was reactivated, it became the first world title held by Swerve Strickland and has found wrestlers such as Tom Lawlor, Matt Riddle, Jacob Fatu, and now Mads Kruger as champions. MLW may be in search of a TV deal, but they can field an impressive roster and worthy contenders who could be just as much at home leading other promotions."

[8.0] "The field for the original MLW tournament was great and Douglas was a solid choice for an ECW-esque revival company, the champions were solid choices, peaking for me personally with the endlessly entertaining Steve Corino ("I'm the world champion and you're not! "). Title defenses in US, Japan and Finland is pretty credible for a World title. I think the revival of the title is off to a promising start too. Another great field of champions, hoping Matt Riddle gets hold of it first."
