[4.0] "And to think, this was as good as they ever really got at an actual "cruiserweight" attempt. McMahonland N E V E R understood the division. Never even had the possibility or potential, not even the CAPACITY to even SNIFF how to do it. A joke, a debacle. a sad state of affairs. Chavo Guerrero Jr did what he could though. 4.25"

[6.0] "Honestly the title had some great matches over it especially early on in its existence. Wish it was taken care of better during the time it was around. Belt went out with the worst champion in a stupid way."

[4.0] "The problem with WWE and their cruiserweight division was the fact they didn't take it seriously. Look at how NJPW does things, they have the right guys in that spot who can put on one hell of a show. WWE had the likes of Spike Dudley and Funaki... not trying to hate on those guys, but when you literally had the likes of Jushin Liger still wrestling during the time this title was active and not signing him just makes zero sense. They brought in Ultimo Dragon, but again... it's Ultimo Dragon, Rey Mysterio... and who else? They had an opportunity to take it semi-seriously, especially given all the talent that was around during the time. For whatever reason, they just didn't believe in it."

[5.0] "The issue that WWE has had for the longest times in terms of titles for their cruiserweight division is caring long enough. Cruiserweight, Light Heavyweight, etc. Always starts off strong, then dies off and becomes not important anymore. At least this belt didn't have Duane Gill. - no wait, Hornswoggle held it for 2 months. ah fuck it."

[6.0] "It's a difficult title to rate because the WWE never really looked like they saw the real value of having a Cruiserweight division. Its best era without a doubt was when it became an exclusive title to Smackdown in the 2002-early 04 era. You had consistently strong matches with guys like Jamie Noble, Billy Kidman and Tajiri and there was also a really fun storyline where Matt Hardy lost the weight to become champ. Rey Mysterio always felt like the man to build the division around and his star power got the title to the main event of Smackdown when he defeated Matt Hardy and that felt like a huge moment for his career. His rivalry with Chavo was also consistently great to watch. After Mysterio was clearly a bigger star and was moved away from the division, things really went downhill and while you still got top workers like Chavo and Paul London holding the title, they was barely featured and you started seeing less Cruiserweight matches going more than 5 minutes. The less said about the joke champions like Jacqueline and Hornswoggle the better. I think it is looked at with rose tinted glasses these days where people remember the awesome early matches, but forget how badly the title was buried."

[5.0] "The belt was very prestigious at one point, as from 2001-2003 the belt was held by some very notable wrestlers who could work, most notably Tajiri, Billy Kidman, Matt Hardy, and Rey Mysterio, In 2004, however, the wheels fell off, as they just didn't take the belt seriously anymore, as Jacqueline and Chavo Classic both had reigns with it, and the champ was often used as fodder for roided up monsters. This was the case until 2007, when HORNSWOGGLE became champ, which effectively killed the title's credibility, where it had to be retired. Ugh."

"The way WWE treated the cruiserweight title at first was pretty solid. From 2001-2003, it wasn't too bad, I remember how entertaining Jamie Noble's run was as champion. Around 2006, you can just tell WWE had zero clue on what to do with the title. Overall, I still enjoyed this division, but it doesn't come close to how great the title was in WCW."

[7.0] "I didn't like the design I felt it was really bland, WCW had some color to it at least. The division was treated seriously for most of it's existence with matches that were absolute classics, until hornswoggle won it. The sad thing is most of the people who won it were never going to get anywhere for they were seen as shorter guys who can't hang with big guy, though there are exceptions of course.."

[7.0] "Good title for the matches, bad title for the workers. Often it confined you in a division that destroyed your momentum and the cruiserweights become just the little boys that fight for a minor championship. Of course we had great champions and great matches along the way but the last champion before the retirement gives a well idea of the status of this scrap."

[5.0] "The kind of title you remember fondly from your childhood and want to give a good rating and then you open this page and the first thing you read is "Hornswoggle", leading you down an introspective spiral of thoughts culminating in the realization that your childhood was largely overrated."

[10.0] "I really loved this title, some of the best matches between cruiserweights were held because of this title. I hope they bring this title back when the cruiserweights arrive the Raw, so more great matches will happen."

[4.0] "From 2001 to 2003 it was a belt useful to give light heavyweight and cruiserweight wrestlers a chance to get over, but rarely there was an effort to make it seem something prestigious to wear. From 2005 everything deteriorated and the belt had no meaning, closing its final chapter with Hornswoggle."

[3.0] "It's a shame how the WWE have failed to ever give any prestige to this title. Many great wrestlers competed for it, but WWE didn't knew how (or simply didn't want) to fulfill its potential."

[6.0] "It never was solid, but I think the WWE needs this title just to have more variety."
