IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship

[7.0] "The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship isn't a secondary tag team title, but rather one that has been used to highlight New Japan's most exciting junior heavyweights. This title has been used to open the main cards for New Japan's premier events (including Wrestle Kingdom) and has given teams either a platform to be elevated or validation for their efforts in ring. Not all matches are structured the same, some being a stunt show while others are technical bouts, so don't let the Junior Heavyweight label fool anyone into thinking this is only for high-flyers."

[8.0] "This is a sleeper title in New Japan. Sometimes the matches are really meh-tier, but then the next they're absolutely great titles. It used to be about a 9/10, but I'd give it an 8/10 now."

[6.0] "The title mostly just jumps around between Bullet Club, Suzuki-gun, and the occasional random tag team of two guys thrown together. I like the belts, they have some history to them, but NJPW needs to do better with the division in order to elevate it"

[7.0] "Incredible linage and some incredible matches, but the title is often times an afterthought to NJPW and there are rarely any stories for the title. It's just there and defenses just come and go."

[10.0] "In terms of concept this could be one of my favourite titles ever. Junior wrestling and tag team, great! One of the most prestigious title in the world imho."

[4.0] "The Junior Tag titles need to be retired. They not only share the singles Junior title problems, but they are also even less prestigious. There is absolutely no reason to have two different set of tag titles in New Japan, the division is not that big and the booking is bad. Matches are mostly ok, but the booking is always bad, repetitive and uninspired."

[6.0] "I would be a fan of NJPW possibly merging their tag divisions and having Openweight tag titles. I know it may be rough having teams like Roppongi 3K against big heavyweights, but if any company could make it work and make it believable it'd be New Japan."

[5.0] "The titles have an okay amount of prestige and the champion teams have been largely good to great but the junior tag division is just too small to make the titles work properly."

[7.0] "Good titles but not much consistency, we can have good matches for these belts but there is not enough teams to keep things really interesting."

[8.0] "Well, this title is regaining some prestige nowadays. During 2013 to 2016, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship was a mess. Except for the Bucks, who had 224 days as champions in them first reign, every team in division challenged and won the belts. Even the Bucks. They had a great first reign but, in this time period of three or four years, they won the title more six times. It's sad. The Three and Four Ways really hurt the belt too. But since the Roppongi 3K came to the division in 2017, the belt reborn. Even guys like Hiromu Takahashi, who is with no doubt a top guy in the division, show some interest and challenged for that. Desperado and Kanemaru couldn't be the team to elevate the division, but they have a good reign so far. I think SHO and YOH will regain the title in the next months and have a pretty good run."

[7.0] "The recent hot potato have hurt this title a little but the matches are still of good quality. Would like to see it get off the under card though."

[2.0] "The New Japan tag team scene is a mess. They barely have enough teams to make one division, let alone two. One are NJPW fails is their conservative approach to drawing that line between junior heavyweights and heavyweights. As such the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Title is perpetually stuck in the lower-mid card, flippy-do, changes-ever-other-defense purgatory. NJPW really needs to unify the two belts (Young Bucks anyone) and reinvigorate their tag team scene."

[5.0] "Bad booking, lots of bad booking. There has been maybe one successful title defense, the same 4 teams in the same combinations, and worst of all the matches are great, just such booking makes the matches feel meaningless."

[6.0] "There's great matches to be found here but this title is starting to become a waste of time and should be unified with the Tag Team Championship due to the lack of depth in the tag division as a whole (not just by weight class)."

[8.0] "This title has provided us of great matches throughout his short history."
