"Very bland powerhouse tag team who were in some boring stables. The War Raiders are also a powerhouse team, but they bring it in the ring as well, which is nothing that AOP did, in both main roster stints. Not terrible by any means, but just bland. Not a great team on the main roster, like Ascension."

[7.0] "They had a good NXT run and was promising for the future at the time but Ellering leaving so early on was unfortunate. He suited their personality perfectly as the manager of one of the most legendary and dominant tag teams in history. Being around Drake Maverick hurt their credibility a little, Rollins thing was promising too but cut short due to unlucky reasons. Both great athletes respectively and bring a great dominance that puts them over and their opponents whether they're underdogs or an established babyface team. I'm now looking closely to their work in Final Testament and if they get over with the fans eventually. I think that stable can be something of an important thing on weekly basis thus giving a credibility to Authors of Pain one more time with Ellering on their side again."

Worked really well with Revival, UE, DIY, and SanitY, especially in those dragout brawls. With Seth and Murphy I had thought their careers saved but COVID was terrible misfortune for a team that I really liked."

They were not flashy, but during an era when just about everyone does flips, dives, & superkicks; AOP were refreshing & really helped to flush out the NXT tag team division. Adding Paul as the manager gave them a reason to take notice if you're an oldschool fan. I also really liked their super collider double powerbomb move. But much like many NXT talents to come before & after; the main roster call up was a death sentence. They immediately lost Ellering & were forgotten about. Most memorable thing they did on the main roster was get called AOPee-pee after some idiotic spot with Drake Maverick. WWE booking at its finest."

[7.0] "Solid big-man team that, like most WWE talent, were booked perfectly in NXT but floundered into oblivion once they were called up to the main roster. Unfortunately by the time Drake Maverick became their manager-slash-mini-me they lost all credibility, with Drake's pee-pee incident being the final nail. After that they had 1 (one) match on TV in 2019 leading into being Seth Rollins' heavies, which would've been a perfect spot for them, but WWE is simply incapable of booking the vast majority of their talent correctly. I hope these two finally land somewhere soon and continue teaming, because despite how good of a team they are I don't know how well they could manage as respective solo acts."

ZestyZuluWarrior wrote on 29.07.2019:

Shadow Explosion wrote on 02.01.2019:

jamzell00 wrote on 07.08.2018:
[8.0] "How nxt handled them was perfect. They built them up as green monsters who slowly got into their roles. Everytime they were on TV they improved. The match with TMDK at takeoever was the first step in them growing and their title win against DIY was also fantastic. You can put that on DIY and The Revival being great but AOP played their part very well in that feud. They were presented and protected as if they were a big deal and it was great. Now they're on the main roster doing literally nothing. Remember when HHH said guys get called up with a plan?"
Dragon Fighter wrote on 08.03.2018:

rjsbx11 wrote on 11.02.2018:
[7.0] "AOP could've been a bad experiment but credit to Akam and Rezar, they really have learned to stick with their strength while also improving in other areas. They are powerful, big dudes who can hit hard but they also can sell their asses off which helps when they face smaller opponents. They can carve out a good role as monster tag team or top star's enforcers, but I think they've proven they are more flexible than otherwise assumed."
coolseraz wrote on 19.11.2017:
[7.0] "They sell pretty well but are still green and need matches with Revival, DIY and TM-61. They can bump around too. They need a year in NXT to become legitimately good and are improving well. Edit: They have improved a lot and are great to watch fuck things up."
Titansrevenger wrote on 16.06.2017:

There aura of invincibility is awesome at this point. Unlike every other team in the WWE they are actually very intimidating. These guys are only going to get better which is actually fairly scary because they are awesome already. Individually, they do not stand apart but they are a legit tag team so that is a non factor at this point. I undoubtedly believe that the Authors of Pain are the best team going today."

DanTalksRasslin wrote on 09.01.2017:
[5.0] "While still rough around the edges, the Authors have the makings of a good monster power team of the sort WWE has been lacking in recent years. They have some unique power-based tandem offensive moves and have improved with experience since their debut. Pairing them with a legendary manager in Ellering is also a wise move to help establish their characters and give them a mouthpiece. At this point they're good as monster heels in the NXT tag division while gaining experience; time will tell when and if they'll be ready for prime time."
jchiofal wrote on 28.12.2016:
[7.0] "Their very sudden debut, demolishing American Alpha, and their alliance with Ellering, shows the faith the WWE has in the AoP. Their limited ring time as a whole so far tells me they are still green, but that ring said, their match against American Alpha shows why there is so much faith in such a new and relatively inexperienced team. The size and power they have and the intensity of their offense shows a major upside for a relatively new tag team. They have improved tremendously since their debut, and have so much potential as a monster tag team."

[7.0] "I actually like this team. I thought them attacking and then beating American Alpha was a good choice as it automatically propels them to the top. I think their finishing move (which is a side Russian leg sweep with a clothesline) is a little weak but they can change that. Overall I am looking forward to seeing what these guys can do."
