[8.0] "Very good tournament. The matches from the initial rounds weren't eye-catching but by the end, we had a few standouts. MVP: SANADA - He made it all the way to the finals and was the most outstanding performer; Okada and Ishii were a close second."
[9.0] "Maybe the best New Japan Cup in history, certainly the greatest and most prestigious. It gave a chance to a lot of people in the first rounds, so we did have some lowcarders who are not really great talents in here but it also allowed a young lion, 2 juniors and some veterans to participate. As a result we had some interesting confrontations like Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Shota Umino, Minoru Suzuki vs. Satoshi Kojima or Tomohiro Ishii vs. Yuji Nagata wich were great. Obviously as we advanced more in the tournament we had more top talents and great matches. The semi-finals were excellent and the final was great with a big fight feel in SANADA's hometown and the story of Okada trying to get his momentum back and become the dominant Rainmaker again. The New Japan Cup is usually not the best tournament but these last 2 years it improved by a wide marge and this one was really solid so it's a success."
