[10.0] "This was a great tournament and didn't have a bad day. A block was considerably better and it is hard to argue against that. They don't have a bad man on the block. While B block was worse it had some good wrestlers like Ibushi, Nagata, Naito, Nakamura, and Suzuki. The other half of the block had a lot of bad matches. Those five consisting of Anderson, Benjamin, Takahashi, Tenzan, and Yano. Although I did enjoy Takahashi for the second half of the tournament with him having good matches with Nakamura, Suzuki, Ibushi, Anderson, and Nagata he still will go to the lower level. A block put on classics every night from Tanahashi, Kojima, Shibata, Ishii, among all the rest. Some stand outs for me were the Killer Elite Squad, Lance Archer and Davey Boy Smith Jr who I looked forward to in every event of the tournament and rarely disappointed. They should be brought back for G1 29. Replace Fale and Tonga or something. Top Three in the block for me were 1. Tanahashi, 2. Kojima, 3. Goto. Tanahashi by far had the best matches with great matches against Kojima, Ishii, Smith, Devitt, Goto, Okada, and Shibata. It was a real disappointment when Goto got injured and felt like the tournament was missing something with him gone. Other notes on A block was that I enjoyed some of the gimmicks Devitt had during his entrances like a guitar against Tanahashi, boxing gloves against Shibata, and a gorilla mask against Makabe. He also made good use of Fale in every match. B block was good here and there but was generally overshadowed by A block. Top three were 1. Ibushi, 2. Naito, 3. Nakamura. Ibushi was able to have good matches with not only the great wrestlers but also the lower level wrestlers like Benjamin, Takahashi, and Yano. The top matches of each block naturally came on day 4 with Ishii vs Shibata and Nakamura vs Ibushi. The final was fantastic and a classic in it's own right and is worth the watch. Tanahashi is the MVP of the tournament for me."

[10.0] "Quite possibly the greatest wrestling tournament to ever take place, bar none. Every match in the 23rd G1 Climax was very watchable, and many were phenomenal. It's not often that we as wrestling fans are treated to several matches in a tournament that can be added to a "greatest of all time list", let alone one single match. Shibata/Ishii, Okada/Tanahashi and Ibushi/Nakamura were the best matches of the entire tournament and have all found there place in my personal "all time" list. Fantastic booking."
