[6.0] "I have good memories of this dude not just from his excellent heel ability but also his in-ring work. He carried a lot of the matches he was in and formed a great athletic tag team too. I loved that he got the IC title and a good feud or two as the Mountie. Underrated performer and could have been even better."

[8.0] "Yeeessss. Entertaining 90's heel who was more than decent in the ring and had a lot of fun with his cowardly, cheating gimmick. Got to pretend to wield a cattle prod too. Memorable theme tune, which sounded suspiciously like him, which he sang along to on the way to the ring. May well have been the inspiration for "Due South". Was extremely popular at one point, unfortunately that point being after losing the Jailhouse Match at SummerSlam 91 with one leather-clad individual taking a particular shine to the poor Mountie."

[6.0] "So good at portraying a heel cop. The Mountie hit too close to home for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and they prevented him from doing The Mountie gimmick when he wrestled in Canada."

[7.0] "As Jacques Rougeau he was a very good tag team wrestler putting on great matches within WWE's strongest tag division ever. As the Mountie he was a very good midcard heel. In the ring I enjoyed his work especially when working with great wrestlers like Hart or Bulldog."

[8.0] "Loved him as The Mountie, an annoying heel character that generates a lot of heat with fans. Jacques was a capable worker inside the ring and was as good on the mic as The Mountie. Jacques also had some tremendous athletic ability in the ring. I remember owning the Jakks action figure of The Mountie."

[6.0] "Played the annoying heel perfectly and his Mountie gimmick was sort of a spiritual successor to the Honky Tonk Man. Unfortunately for him, his IC title run was about as far part in success as you could get from Honkies."

[8.0] "A heel by mother nature's design. Completely unlikable, but in a likeable way - you want to see him get his a$s kicked, you love seeing him get his a$s kicked, you don't mute or fast forward - you anticipate the comeuppance/beating! ...which he only received *sometimes*. Superb tag wrestler, great in battle royals; The Fabulous Rougeau's & The Amazing French Canadians produced gold more often than not and he was usually "scheming" his way into the final four of multiple battle royals. We hear stories of him not being giving and being quite selfish in the ring, but it doesn't translate to poor television. A heat magnet that can not be understated, he comes across as a real b@stard f#ck you wanna slap in the face! Chemistry with plenty, could bring the live crowds out of a lull (discounting that Royal Rumble match against Koko B Ware when the character was "too new for payperview") and in general is a mostly fun watch. Just avoid those Bushwhacker matches. ps: I love that "I'm The Mountie" song, so bad it's fantastic!"

[7.0] "Purely as The Mountie, Jacques was so unbelievably in tune with his character that he actually ended up being a fantastic early 90s WWE-style wrestler."

[6.0] "As a singles guy just average. The Mountie Gimmick did border on ridiculous but he seemed to enjoy playing the character."

[9.0] "Incredibly entertaining as a heel especially as The Mountie. As part of the Fabulous Rougeaus he had excellent chemistry with his brother. Then when he became The Mountie and feuded with the Big Bossman, he had some good promos and he was Jeff Jarrett levels of entertaining as a heel."

[7.0] "Very solid in-ring basics and always worked with what bookers gave him. A good wrestler, especially for an era where in-ring skill was usually secondary to charisma."

[9.0] "Was great in Quebec and one of the best from in the 90's. In WWF he was great with his brother Raymond. He was given a decent push by WWF when he was the Mountie beating Bret Hart for the Intercontinental title. He beat Hulk Hogan in Montreal while employed with WCW."
