He is also the first wrestler I ever loved watching as a boy, so - sorry for everyone who came after, but you have a hell of a lot of nostalgia to top there."

[10.0] "Eddie Guerrero is one of the most legendary, talented and beloved wrestlers of all time. NWA territories, lucha, Japan, the indies, WCW and WWE - it didn't matter; he was able to thrive and deliver incredible performances and matches across an incredibly wide range of wrestling environments. His talent was so extraordinary that he broke the traditional perception in WWE that a "small guy" couldn't be a world champion, becoming one of the true trailblazers in that regard. From 2002 to 2005, he produced unforgettable work through his characters, in-ring performances and matches. Eddie overcoming his addiction and becoming a world champion is one of the most emotional and inspiring underdog victories in wrestling history. No matter who his opponent was, it was difficult to find anyone who could speak and wrestle with as much passion as Eddie. He was such a charismatic and genuine person that he could even make lying, cheating and stealing feel sympathetic. His chemistry with Rey, Benoit, JBL and Angle produced dozens of unforgettable matches. His aggressive, methodical style in the ring was as captivating as his underdog performances. One of the central figures of SmackDown's greatest era, a master of telling stories with emotion and passion, an absolute legend. I love Eddie. VIVA LA RAZA!"

[10.0] "Would be considered even more of a legend by a huge margin than he already is, if it wasn't for his early death at only 38. Aside everything you've read 100 times already, he was one of the most impressive actors to ever wrestle. Watch his entire feud with Rey Mysterio, especially, their angles on Smackdown. The emotion he was able to express is still unmatched, and he arguably died at the height of his work, because all I can say is; 20 years later, 2004-2005 Eddie Guerrero still feels like the peak of wrestling in so many ways. He went from one of the most likeable underdogs 2003-2004 to one of the coldest, darkest, angriest heels in 2005 like it was easy. Absolute perfection."

Amazing in-ring abilities, always compelling storyteller, and someone who can work great in any match while also making anyone he was in the ring with into bigger stars. And the sad part is, if not for his late passing, he could have been even greater that he is remembered for being. He's in my top 5 favourite wrestlers of all time for sure."
[10.0] "Without a doubt, one of the best performers to ever do it. There wasn't a thing about him that wasn't below a 10. He's incredible in the ring, he cut excellent promos, and he was one of the most charismatic guys at the time. Face, heel, he was the complete package in whatever you needed him to do. Probably the closest to being perfect a wrestler could be."

[10.0] "Originally written on 1/18/25: My first review of Eddie was quite rudimentary and short, and thinking about it, there's obviously much more to say about him. Eddie was always at the forefront, surpassing everyone in every way, in every venue. Unforgettable for many reasons, his matches are a delightful combination of agility, storytelling, and the element of surprise that always surrounded him. His charisma is also something to praise; so witty and mischievous, that attitude (somehow, as if under a spell) captivates you, making you feel drawn in and interested in his matches, his promos, everything about him. I've always seen people say that a certain wrestler could fit into any era without a problem, and for me, that special someone would be Eddie Guerrero. Eddie Guerrero was truly blessed, with the gift of doing everything well."

In the ring, he was absolutely surgical, with an unmatched sense of timing, psychology, and detail that made everything he did look meaningful. On top of that, he had god-tier charisma, the kind that draws you in instantly, whether he was a babyface or a heel. He was an incredible promo, backed up by genuinely great acting ability, able to make you believe in every emotion he wanted to convey. I never had the chance to see him wrestle live, but going back and rewatching his matches now... honestly, my god, this guy was unreal. Just on another level."

He understood wrestling on a deeper level than most. He could work power, submissions, and technical sequences with ease, and when he wanted to turn it on, he was explosive and athletic too. Eddie was the definition of an all-around performer and a perfectionist. Whatever role he was given, he committed to it completely and made it work at the highest level. His love for wrestling was always obvious, you could feel how passionate he was every time he stepped into the ring. He influenced countless wrestlers who came after him and his impact is still felt today. Add in his natural charisma and ability to connect with the crowd, and you have a true legend of the sport."

Sweet Fighter V wrote on 23.10.2025:
[10.0] "To this day, Eddie's irresistible charm is still pretty much unrivaled. It's only fair to say that there was something about Eddie's natural swagger, his immaculate flow, his extravagant personality and infectious energy that made him such a fascinating character. El vato loco could be comedy gold through his ludicrous goofiness, his hilarious over-the-top facial expressions, his signature spanglish and excessive use of slangs (ese, vato, homes, and everything in between). Amazingly enough, he could be just as brilliant whenever he had to be taken seriously. That Latino Heat of his was for real, the passion and the intensity he could bring to the table remain on par with the best of them, and his promo skills as that dead serious competitor could move mountains, and as a matter of fact, that addiction promo on the eve of his crowning moment against Brock at Now Way Out, might be my favorite promo of all time. So yeah, Eddie's range was pretty unique, and not just as a character, as he was just as unique in that ring. He was never the biggest, but he was incredibly slick, sneaky, smooth and ingenious. He was a perfect blend of lucha libre tradition and technical prowess, but also a master trickster/cheater and an exceptional storyteller capable of some marvelous character work. That iconic "lie, cheat, steal" gimmick is such a treat! That glorious smile/smirk, the shimmy, the bravado, the fire... Eddie was a natural-born entertainer. There's a reason the man is one of the most genuinely and universally beloved professional wrestlers ever, and the fact that he died just one month after turning 38 years young and right when he was pushed to the main event scene again, only reinforce my conviction that the best was yet to come. Just imagine proper feuds with the likes of HBK, Triple H, Cena '07, Taker, Edge, Orton, Punk, Hardy, even guys like Del Rio, Ziggler or Kofi, even some more Rey Mysterio! Not only did we got robbed of some more pro wrestling magic, but the world got robbed of a wonderful human being. ¡Viva Eddie Guerrero cabrones!"

The man had incredible technical prowess, incredible capacity for ring work, and great skill in getting the crowd to believe in him and the work he was doing. The massive catalogue of great matches this man had across multiple promotions, and over multiple decades, gives me no choice but to give him the highest rating I can. It's a shame some of his best work was with Benoit; it took a long time for those matches to get their deserved praise by anyone who wasn't tuned in live to them. I'm glad they are more accessible to a newer crowd now- watch him if you want to learn how you work a damn match, kids."

I think if he hadn't passed away, he'd have had at least one or maybe two more World Title runs. To me, Eddie was one of the best of all time. Eddie combined it all - great contact with the audience, an impressively fast and at the same time smart style of conducting matches, incredible charisma and outstanding skills on the microphone. All this was evident in Eddie during his performances in the tag division in Mexico, and later in ECW, WCW and the independent companies, and by the time of his greatest triumph in WWE, he tried to become better and better, and definitely deserved everything he was able to achieve with real hard work."

[10.0] "Eddie Guerrero was a true pioneer who brought a unique blend of lucha libre and technical wrestling to the forefront of the industry. Born into the legendary Guerrero family, Eddie's roots in Mexico instilled in him the high-flying, innovative style of lucha libre. Early in his career, he formed a tag team with Art Barr in AAA, where their chemistry captured the imagination of fans and set the stage for what was to come. His charisma and undeniable talent quickly made him a standout performer, paving the way for a career that would influence countless wrestlers after him. During his WCW run, Eddie showcased his versatility in matches against some of the best in the business, trading blows with Rey Mysterio Jr., Vampiro, and DDP among others. Despite his undeniable talent, WCW didn't fully tap into his potential, which ultimately led him to jump ship to WWE. Once in WWE, Eddie truly shined with his "Lie, Cheat, and Steal" persona, turning every match into a captivating story. His pinnacle moment came when he captured the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar--a triumph that was both hard-fought and symbolic of his perseverance. One of the most memorable WrestleMania endings in history came with Chris Benoit by his side, a moment that not only celebrated his championship victory but also encapsulated his magnetic connection with the audience. Eddie's legacy in wrestling is immeasurable. He wasn't just a performer--he was a trailblazer who redefined what it meant to be a complete wrestler. His innovative in-ring style, combined with his larger-than-life charisma, helped shape the modern era of professional wrestling. Even after his untimely passing, his influence is still felt in every high-flying move and technical sequence executed by today's wrestlers. Eddie Guerrero remains a beloved icon whose impact transcends championships and accolades, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts and minds of wrestling fans around the world."

Eddie had such a great range, much like what I said about Mick Foley earlier today. He could make you laugh. He could definitely make you cry. He could be a beloved babyface, and a dastardly heel... I think you need to do more research. Now, moving on from that, Eddie's matches don't really need to be explained. His bouts against Benoit, Angle, Jericho, Mysterio, and Lesnar are still being talked about today because of how ahead-of-it's-time they are."

I was flipping through channels as a 7-year-old on a Saturday morning, and I happened upon Los Guerreros vs The World's Greatest Tag Team from the previous night's SmackDown. I saw Eddie do something I'd never seen before - a combined headscissors and armdrag on both Haas and Benjamin - and I was hooked. In the years after that, his promos and matches continued to bring me laughter and amazement, and he truly had it all - the look, the athleticism, comedy, drama, workrate, etc. etc. He was an all-rounder to a degree that I'm not sure has been equalled since. He was taken from us far too soon and it was a terrible waste. Wrestling has been poorer without him ever since. RIP."

Eddie was an all round perfect wrestler, the only other two like that (from the US) were Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. Eddie belongs in that class. Worked his ass off for so long, from teaming with Art Barr in Mexico, being Black Tiger II in NJPW, a little short stint in ECW, making an impact in WCW and finally going to WWE and winning the WWE Championship. Oozed charisma and could back it up in-ring whenever he needed to. You could see he was declining a little during his final year or two, but it didn't stop him from putting on classic matches that are still talked about. He can play both sides of the face-heel spectrum and be one of the best you've ever seen at both. In his prime, nobody could match up to him. Just a minute ago when I was ranking Edge, I questioned if there was anyone as well-rounded as he is, and the answer to that question is Eddie Guerrero. He had already built up a massive legacy for himself before his untimely passing in November 2005, and had that not happened, I can't even begin to imagine how much further he could've gone. His moves are so truly timeless and also ahead of their time, it's an absolute joy to watch him wrestle. His feud with Rey Mysterio Jr & the commentary he did in the lead up to Starrcade vs Dean Malenko in wcw 1997 feel like must watch tv.
