[10.0] "In terms of match quality, he's good but he doesn't have as many classics as his other, Gargano, but in terms of character, feuds, and psychology, Ciampa might be one of the greatest pure heels in the history of WWE. This man was an absolute menace in his prime, attacking Candice LaRae, murdering Gargano every chance he got, and then also trying to turn Gargano to the dark side made him one of the best heels of all time because you geniuely didn't know what he was going to do, not to mention the fact unlike most psycho heels like him who would cut these utterly psychotic promos like MJF or Jon Moxely, Ciampa would just come out and almost be like Jake the Snake Roberts, speaking slowly and quietly while saying the most heinous shit imaginable. This is one of the rare times I give a 10 simply because the character was so damn good and in his peak, he was a bigger menace then Orton in '09."

Judging him based on his WWE NXT run he's a solid enough tag team worker but a really, really great solo heel. We'd be singing songs about him if he'd been a territory guy in the '80s who feuded with Jerry Lawler or the like. As it stands he's still really good."

I think that his timing just wasn't right as he could have been a bigger star with the right timing, but a really really good wrestler with a ton of believability. Very complete package despite not being a bigger than life guy"

If today his place in the main roster is hard to come by, I'm delighted that he's spending time in the ring and has the opportunity to be team champion with Gargano, they deserve it. His in-ring skills and wrestling intelligence are formidable and his adaptability can work in his favor. I've got my fingers crossed because he's talented."

TripleCrown wrote on 08.04.2024:
[6.0] "Ciampa is alright. I really love his moveset, but aside from that... he's just very boring. He's great in a tag team with Gargano, but he just doesn't have the ability to be a strong singles star. On his own, he's bland and doesn't offer anything aside from having a good set of moves and the ability to do them well."
TSwifty wrote on 23.01.2024:
[6.0] "Ciampa is a decent wrestler in my opinion. He shows flashes of greatness from time to time, but that mostly gets negated due to his horrible indy habits and the NXT match style. I'm not even going to talk about his indy stuff from before NXT since he's improved since then. Ciampa has had some strong performances over the last couple years. I wasn't at all a fan of his story with Gargano. Those matches brought out the absolute worst in him. He could be a good heel when he's not forcing it. If he was in a different environment working a different style other than your-turn-my-turn I could see myself liking him more. He has a strong passion for pro-wrestling and you have to give him credit for still putting in work despite multiple injures."

He figured it out by the time he went into NXT and he and Gargano consistently put on great matches. He now had amazing charisma and good mic skills. His time as NXT's top heel was great and he came back still hot despite a long time away due to neck surgery. Proof of how good he is was that he was one of the few veterans kept for NXT 2.0. Main roster run hasn't been great so far but hoping it starts to turn around."

His best attribute though is his character work; Chiampa was one the best character worker in NXT history second only to the Wyatt family. He has incredible charisma and superb mic skills. Unfortunately, heavily underused in the main roster."

But seen what has been seen it seems that he has been stagnating in the main WWE brands, he is a wrestler with a characteristic style of wrestling of what we saw before in NXT and maybe that has left him with that legacy. However he is a great wrestler and I like him a lot."

He knows how to cut promos that catch your attention and don't deviate from the character he is attempting to portray, whether that's a badass face or a ruthless cunning heel. His in-ring work is nothing to joke at either, his in-ring work is good to the point he can have good matches with most styles. His consistency of quality is one of his best qualities. He just doesn't seem like a main eventer anymore though....there were flashes of brilliance in NXT but ever since then he's lost a step a bit, and it's a shame but maybe he can make a comeback and prove himself on the main roster as a main eventer."

Anyone who has watched him on NXT can confirm this, Ciampa is able to make his entrece music hum and whistles. He's not the best in the world in the ring, but it's still a very high level, higher than most of the current WWE roster. Triple H likes it and sees potential in it, so you can expect Ciampa to achieve a lot in the coming years - hope I'm right."

He was the type of heals who could get negative reaction by delivering great matches, and that is really very valuable ability. He's still great, one of the best in offense, but the unstable NXT booking has hurt him a lot."

His work as a face is solid and he can deliver there but as a heel, he's special. He's produced other great matches as well and can deliver a strong promo. Basically, he's all around a great wrestler and performer."

Sure there have been matches in his NXT run that I haven't been a fan of (hello the series vs. Gargano), but every time he has faced off someone other than Gargano, he has reminded me that he is actually a pretty compelling pro-wrestler. Definitely not one of my favorites or anything close to that, but his matches & style of wrestling is something I can appreciate."

I don't find his in ring work enthralling at all, but it works for what he is being asked to do. Matches with the right opponent he will always put on a good match, but ask him to look good with a technical guy or a high-flyer and it doesn't work very often."
TheFrenchDisaster wrote on 30.11.2019:

His reign was filled with good matches and he had a legendary rivalry with Johnny Gargano, too bad an injury forced him to give up the title. But now, daddy's home and he seeks to recover the title he has never lost, the most important thing in the world for him. I hope he will soon face Adam Cole and regain the NXT Championship. Seriously, he is the best brawler in WWE today and he's so entertaining."
TheV2 wrote on 26.11.2019:
[9.0] "Great wrestler, both skill-wise and character-wise. On long-term he definitely has the best character development in the WWE right now. And though the booking is great, a lot of this was carried by Ciampa himself. Not everyone can evolve from a hardworking friend to a selfish, gold-hungry bastard to a locker room leader as believable as Ciampa did. His repertoire however is too small to fill his future and that's the only minor problem where I'm looking for more progress."
taabr2 wrote on 31.08.2019:
[9.0] "Ciampa is one of the best brawlers in WWE today, he is able to make his simple offense look a lot more punishing than most wrestlers and it work brilliantly for his heel character. Speaking of, Ciampa's best aspect is how easily hate-able he is, he is such a brilliant dick heel, one of the best in-ring heel in wrestling today."
Tactical Sneak Man wrote on 22.08.2019:
[7.0] "Ciampa is solid both promo and in-ring wise but doesn't blow me away in either department. He initially did very well as a bitter sociopath but his most recent promos and overall presentation pre-injury veer too heavily towards the "cool heel" end of the spectrum for my liking. And his ring-work, while largely free of botches and impactful, relies on the same faux-epic style every NXT main eventer relies on without the flashiness of his contemporaries. If your matches are going to last 30 years than they should at least be spectacles, and his aren't. How much of this is due to booking and NXT's overall formula and how much of this is on Ciampa as a performer, I don't know. But I much preferred both him and Gargano in a tag team compared to their solo runs."
RedstickRebel wrote on 17.07.2019:

On the indies, he was a clown and just horrible, I haven't erased that image of him fully yet. However, I have to give him credit for his NXT run... from great tag matches to a great singles heel character. I respect what Ciampa has done and hopefully he'll come back just as good one day."

Makai Club wrote on 28.12.2018:
[5.0] "Decent wrestler when with the right person, where his matches aren't total spot fests w/ Your Turn-My Turn mentalities. His promos are meh, they tend to drag on and he constantly tries to throw in one-lines which are more than not, very cringy. One thing I credit him for is being very hatable but it's better when he is naturally unlikable opposed to forced heel work. So basically he is Triple H-lite which isn't a good thing."
Amico Leonard wrote on 27.12.2018:

Amazing Gimmick, and the evolution it had in the last weeks is fooking amazing. His "Master of puppets", his way to act with the NXT Title belt and his in-ring Work in excellent , I found in not many cases a "Total Package" as Tommaso Ciampa is. Personally as a Worker Johnny gargano is even better but Ciampa Character is too much excellent to don't vote him 10. He is also a great genius in creating situations in the Ring , every match he had in the Takeovers has been amazing and the Gargano Saga is probably my favorite Storyline ever. NXT is the main reason to watch WWE nowdays and the credit goes to Ciampa Gargano and Black first. Also his Mic skills are excellent, his way to talk and act represent masterfully his character and his promos in backstage area, alone in the shadow are some gems in the Art sport-entertainment. Can't wait to see how the story with Gargano and Black evolves in the next weeks and at NXT TAKEOVER Phoenix in the first place."
Dragon Fighter wrote on 01.12.2018:
[6.0] "Like Gargano, this guy is ridiculously overhyped for some reasons. He is better with his tag work in DIY. Since going solo, I fail to see anything special in him. Firstly, he was really good at getting heel heat but then he just turned into another cool heel. And I found his tweets as cringeworthy as Becky Lynch's. His heel work in ring wasn't very exciting. Sometimes he was good (like the Black match on NXT TV) sometimes he was not (like the dream match or the Brooklyn IV with Gargano). His selling was largely spotty at best. Same with Gargano, he tended to overkill his corny acting especially in that triology with Johnny. I think he has potential to be great but not now. So 6 mostly for the DIY tag team which I thought was the best tag team in recent years."

He has a very diverse variety in terms of his move set, and that new finisher Project Ciampa is one of the best finishers I've seen. Ciampa also knows exactly who his character is, and how to get under the crowd's skin. Made sense to put the title on him, and his 3-Match series with Gargano has been one of the best feuds to come out of WWE as a whole. Really impressed at what he's done with the title, and can't wait to see who he feuds with next."

Ciampa's heeling on twitter + tv has been unmatched. Now that he's seemingly taken care of Gargano I'm interested to see who he feuds with next. I haven't even gotten into his ringwork yet. Gargano and Ciampa have incredible chemistry as a tag team and the matches with the Revival were incredible. He's not too shabby as a singles wrestler either, his style matches his nickname. He's brutal and rough around the edges and his finishing move, Project Ciampa perfectly reflects his personality. Great wrestler."

They have been supporting an unnecessary gimmick like Bray Wyatt for years, and now what happened as a result? Everybody knows what it is. If they supported a more effective heel like Ciampa instead of Wyatt, we could watch more beautiful matches today."

Ciampa hatte mehrfach gute Matches."

His work in ring of honor was top notch as an unhinged psychopath who did what he pleased. A great brawler and actually an underrated talker. I hope he gets his break in NXT. he really deserves it."

Winning the ROH TV title from Taven proves that this guy has a very bright future ahead of him."

[9.0] "For a whole year that I've watched Ring Of Honor and throughout that same year that he's been on the ROH roster, I've liked Tommaso Ciampa and I thought he was pretty impressive, but I didn't start to really take notice of just how talented the guy truly was until Ring Of Honor started airing their new television show back in September and I started seeing more and more of his matches and his promos and over time and especially now, I became a really big fan of his! I love the kind of intimidation factor that he has in him when he cuts a good promo and even when he comes to the ring for a match, and with his undefeated streak still in tact, that makes him even more of an intimidating wrestler and I love that ROH is still capitalizing on his streak and even came up with the Dominant Male moniker for him that perfectly describes who he is without a doubt! Not only that, but I love his unique offense and his toughness that he brings out of him in every one of his matches especially when he goes for those signature knees to the face of his opponents on the lower turnbuckle and also goes for that Project Ciampa finisher! Ciampa is a very awesome and very unique talent! I love the position he's in on Ring Of Honor right now, and this may be wishful thinking, but I would love to see him have a run in WWE someday! I think he'd be a great talent to have on the WWE roster someday!"
