[5.0] "Even tho you can't tell she had skill from her short TV matches and her infamous my v-- match. She was an OK wrestler victim of her WWE and TNA booking who never saw her pass a gimmick match. She has some decent matches in OVW. And her indies run was OK I've never seen her botch there. But darn it, she never had a bad gimmick and it always was entertaining to watch her play her character. From her trio with Beth and Aaron, to her pirate gimmick with Burchill, to her vampire gimmick with Kevin, to LAX as Salinas and even her indie gimmick (Thunder Rosa and Stephanie Vaquer are ripping her off, she was the first to do it) she never had a bad gimmick. She always had one of the most entertaining characters. The crowd was going crazy for her in TNAs LAX. And she played to her characters from the entrance to the attires, what she might have lacked with wrestling ability she compensated with the memorable gimmicks. Definitely a stand out valet wrestler."
[2.0] "Anything above a 2 or 3 is absolutely ridiculous. Her score has to be bloated by simps. Visually, she worked very well as a gothic vampiress valet... but there's nothing more than that. She lacked the overall psychology of a valet/manager; she was simply eye candy. Her in-ring stuff is complete garbage. Can't cut a promo to save her life. If you look back on her career, she did absolute nothing significant other than her infamous match against Rebel in TNA that everyone loves to laugh at. Completely inadequate in many regards."
[2.0] "I loved the Ariel look and character. She was fantastic in that role and I wouldve liked to have seen it go further, or more of the pirate character with Paul Burchill which I think she only did on Velocity. In TNA, she started off promising as LAXs valet to counter Beer Moneys Jackie Moore. But then once Salinas got in the ring we saw that it wasnt just Kelly Kelly responsible for their abominations back in WWECW. I feel bad for Shelly Martinez cuz she seems like a sweet girl who wanted to be a professional wrestler but she was one of the most inept in-ring performers of all time."
[1.0] "She gets 1 point for having a a great look and solid gimmick in the mid-2000's in ECW as Kevin Thorn's manager, but her in-ring ability was truly awful. She's had some of the worst matches in wrestling history in WWE & TNA/Impact. I don't know how her rating is anything above 2 to be honest.."
[4.0] "For as long as she was wrestling youd think she would be better. Shes passable and thats about it. Her character work can be corny but she can work a crowd and go for a basic match. Shes remembered more for her disastrous TNA One Night Stand match with Rebel which was a train wreck but shes not awful."
[2.0] "The fact that some fans rate her over 2 baffles me. I want to meet these people and offer them a complete psychiatric assessment. I'm not joking by the way. I am incapable of conceiving how she's been able to work in wrestling for over 10 years with zero charisma, zero wrestling skills, a mediocre look and an outdated act."
[2.0] "Absolutely stunningly beautiful, but her ring work? Eh. I feel bad because, she really wanted to be a wrestler and not just do softcore porn, but she only did one of those to a moderately passable level."

[2.0] "I saw her wrestle in WWE, and she didn't look great, but at the same time, she barely got to wrestle at all there. Later, she went to TNA and it wasn't hard to see why she wasn't allowed to do much wrestling. Shelly was very limited in the ring, to say the least. Her career ended on a bad note - she had a horrible match with Rebel on TNA, which was seen as one of the worst matches of 2016. It was bad enough that Lance Storm, who has since worked with TNA after it was bought by Anthem, said that this match could have been booked as a rib, for shits and giggles. Though Shelly had matches after that one, sadly, she will be remembered for that match with Rebel. I say sadly only because she seems to be a nice gal outside of the ring."
[2.0] "Never really excited me. She was another flash in the pan. The valet of Kevin Thorne and was not really good at wrestling. She was great at daggling like a bat off the ropes. She went to TNA and that not much."
[1.0] "If you look on the dictionary "cover oneself in ridicule" you will find Shelly Martinez's picture right next to it. You know what, she would have been absolutely fine had she just accompanied her charges to the ring and done a little spot every now and then but somebody thought she had potential as a wrestler and... well. We got "masterpieces" such as her OVW stint and the infamous 2016 "match" with Rebel/Reba in TNA. As usual if everything else fails, immortality may be achieved through spectacular failure."
[2.0] "She played characters very well, and was a very attractive woman, but in the ring, she simply wasn't good at all. She was so clunky and awkward, and I got second hand embarrassment quite a bit seeing her on my tv. She should've only been a valet for someone, or in a stable to hide her many flaws. Nothing she did in the ring looked believable."
[3.0] "Anything above a 4 or 5 genuinely astounds me. I'm guessing most of those marks are based on her looks/appearance (most likely) or her valet work (which is nothing more than decent) rather than her actual in-ring abilities. As a wrestler she is not good."
[3.0] "How can you mess up a sexy vampire girl gimmick? Well, Shelly Martinez found a way. Didn't help that Kevin Thorne was not good to begin with, I suppose. Post WWE-ECW she proved to be an embarrassment to the industry in more ways that one. I would have like to see her succeed as a manager for LAX... but she really didn't. And then her matches. Oh dear...."
[4.0] "Despite the fact that she can put on some pretty entertaining matches, Shelly Martinez is one of the most boring in ring performers I have seen in the ring in a long time. She is experienced, due to her wrestling for more than a decade, so it's kind of jarring that she is so bland in the ring. She has some personality, which makes up for her utter lack of a moveset. She is admittedly quite attractive, but that doesn't change the fact that she is incredibly bland. I wouldn't even consider her to be bad, but she is just a boring, vanilla wrestler. Strengths: Attractive, Charismatic. Weaknesses: Bland moveset, boring and sloppy grappling."

From the bad breast augmentation, to the horrid, trashy tattoos, to the severe lack of in-ring ability, Shelly Martinez is just offensive. Her recent "match" with Rebel from the One Night Only PPV may be one of the worst matches every put on in the history of the industry. Complete fail."
[3.0] "Shelly Martinez has a pretty big personality, she's also a natural when interacting with the fans. It's her actual wrestling, however, that really doesn't hold up much quality."
[6.0] "Talk about a series of unfortunate events. Shelly Martinez had a brief run in the WWE (2006-2007) with the vampire portrayal of the character Ariel. A backstage conflict with Dave Batista ultimately costed her job with the WWE and while she would try to perform something special in TNA as Salinas, she was left to the wayside with other TNA Knockouts being pushed over her. I feel like she could of been a somebody, instead of being just an indie has been but, we'll know after Shelly was let go by both WWE and TNA."
[7.0] "It's a damn shame that Shelly Martinez could never make it in the big leagues. She had all the tools. (Plus great charisma that she didn't get to show off as much as Ariel or Salinas. ) But she is a witty and wonderful presence on the independent circuit."

Ich werde Ariel bei ECW vermissen, sie war eine der ersten Charaktere, die mich dazu bewegten ECW als TV Show bei der WWE anzusehen."
[8.0] "Für mich mit eine der besten Diven! Natürlich wird sie nicht an eine Trish Stratus heran kommen. Dennoch konnte sie mit ihren Qualitäten als Thorn's Managerin überzeugen. Einfach eine Klasse für sich!"
[7.0] "In der WWE war sie eine der interessantesten Diven überhaupt. Die Ausstrahlung, die sie hatte, ließ einen Großteil der restlichen Wrestlerinnen der WWE erblassen. Das Gimmick hätte nicht besser auf sie abgestimmt sein können und als Valet von Kevin Thorn war sie beängstigend gut."
[7.0] "Gute Diva, die sich auch aussehenstechnisch von den meisten anderen abgrenzt und trotzdem sexy ist. Dazu verfügt sie auch noch über Ausstrahlung, gutes Micwork und anständige In-Ring Fähigkeiten."

Hat mich im Ring überhaupt nicht überzeugen können (ist immerhin keine Quereinsteigerin als Trish oder Candice! ) und bezog ihre Ausstrahlung einzig und allein über ihr Gimmick."

[6.0] "Schade, dass sie nun nicht mehr Teil von WWE ist. Ihre Entlassung kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Sie hat ihren Job als Valet immer gut gemacht, lebte ihr Gimmick und sah auch gar nicht so schlecht aus wie viele sagen. Passte leider nicht ins WWE-Diva-Bild."
