[8.0] "One of the first Non-Binary wrestlers I ever came across, and they sure are a force of nature. Their overall wastelander aesthetic was always interesting enough on it's surface, but their in-ring ability showcases them being a major powerhouse with occasional moments you would expect from a wrestler of their size. I feel they haven't even scratched the surface of their overall abilities. They haven't really been given much mainstream attention other than NWA, so hopefully they get picked up by some mainstream promotion down the line and get given a proper run as a promotions' major champion (whatever division up to said promotion)."
[6.0] "I'm non-binary so I do feel a bit of a soft spot for a fellow queer wrestler like Max. With that said, I don't really think they're anything more than a fairly decent monster heel on the indies. There's nothing really objectively wrong with how they work, and I enjoy the somewhat campy throwback to 80s heels with their character, but I really struggle to think of an individual match or promo that really resonates with me. They seem to understand their place in wrestling in this role, to be fair, and I think their objective is really more just to have fun as opposed to trying to change the wrestling industry and I can respect that. I can't really give them any higher than a six though. Just doesn't stand out enough for me beyond being an open and proud non-binary individual in a time where a lot of idiots vehemently hate queer people for dumb reasons. But hey, keep on keeping on, Max."
[10.0] "There's three references to wrestling on my default denim jacket, and one of those is a Non-Binary Nightmare patch, alongside a Bryan Danielson pin and a Shinsuke Nakamura pin. I always seek out their matches, they are the only reason I even consider putting on a NWA show at this point. I always have time for wrestlers who are also part of the trans community, and Max is also just a fantastic monster in the ring - which is one of my favorite niches in wrestling. I love when they're around in TJPW especially."
[8.0] "This rating is solely based on what I've seen of her in TJPW, although she's not precicely the best in-ring wrestler even in a promotion that is not so work-rated focused as TJPW, her character as a monster heel is very entertaining and works very well in a promotion like Tokyo Joshi that is very character focused and the contrast with all the idol-like-pink presentation is always fun to watch."
[9.0] "Oh, I probably am biased as a trans woman, so extra points for diversity! woo! BUT, Max the Impaler gives that monster heel vibe that I've properly missed for a while. Max is just fucking great in the ring. 9/10. No need to write that much about them. Not disappointed in the "monster" (ha get the joke haha) push they've got in NWA."
[9.0] "I'll admit that there is a ton of bias here, as someone who identifies with being queer and being nonbinary and transgender. So yeah, bonus points simply because there aren't many like them in the industry, and people like Max and Nyla and whoever else really only makes wrestling so much more unique, diverse, and overall better. Asides from that, I think Max is just fucking great. A giant monster with an amazing presence that is very solid in the ring, especially in a tag team matches as shown in TJPW (ESPECIALLY with Aja Kong). Genuinely think they deserve more than NWA, though at least they seem to push Max strong in the company, so theres that."
[9.0] "Max's stage presence is best shown when thrown into the ring with an ostensibly weaker opponent. Max is a monster whose true weakness is their heart. Their tag runs in TJPW are some of their best work."
[5.0] "Clearly defined character/gimmick as a growling monster, fairly unique aura and seems to be just about everywhere nowadays. Having an athletic opponent that can bump and sell well for them is a must for an entertaining match, as Max has a very strong look but a limited moveset."
[10.0] "I love Max. I think the era of the monster heel is dying and they, for me, revive that old feeling I had when I was a kid enjoying the larger than life characters on screen. Max looks legit, like they walked out of a movie. Their mannerisms are on point. There's no time I question Max is a monster. I wish people would get over what "moves" everyone is doing and appreciate the character."
[3.0] "Little more than a look. Max is plodding in the ring and relies on their opponent's movement. Their selling is appropriate to the role, though this is not much of a compliment. Never heard a promo from this worker though they do have a good enough growl. Could be effective in short doses (or if used as an "enforcer" from outside the ring) but the act is extremely vulnerable to over-exposure."
[9.0] "Max is a true monster with an imposing presence, combined with great work as a powerhouse who will crush anything on their path. Max has been getting a lot more recognition since 2021, and although currently in the NWA, it feels certain that they will join a bigger promotion soon."
[9.0] "Awesome monster. They works amazingly well in TJPW. You can imagine if you haven't seen it. Actual monster heel. Like they acts like a monster and its perfect."
[7.0] "I've been a big fan of Max ever since I first discovered them on Women of Honor. They have a really cool and unique look and a great moveset. Hopefully they get picked up by AEW or IMPACT because I think they're more than ready for a bigger stage."
[9.0] "Editing my comment from a couple of years ago. Said I was looking forward to Max's growth and I'm certainly not disappointed. Internationally traveled now. Toured twice in Japan for TJPW with GREAT reception. Curious why no one has picked Max up after ROH"
[7.0] "Great aura live, both in small room indie wrestling and big venues. Looks sick in photos and is one of the better character focused wrestlers. Still needs to translate it into compelling matches but all of Max's matches make sense so they're generally easy to watch"
[5.0] "Not a big draw for me personally, I find the growling monster gimmick to have a fairly low ceiling. Is having a good run in Japan as a towering kaiju, which might be the peak of their success."
[4.0] "Very dull in RoH, and has appeared in promotions I have no interest in, a generic character tht appears everywhere in women's wrestling, which they are usually a part of and they do not do it a interesting or unique way which others do better, for example Decay, Su Yung, and Abadon."
"High energy gimmick, really well done. I am impressed with the union of the character with the wrestling skills. There is an interesting spark here, I am excited to see where it goes."
"Fantastic, just found out that Max The Impaler isn't Awesome Kong. Which would be very weird as they are two different people. Forreal though, nobody brings an energy quite like theirs to the ring. Great presentation, solid executions and very reminiscent of the old big man days in All Japan and Puerto Rico. Am looking forward to see what they do next!"
[10.0] "Max is the freaking Impaler. If someday I have to die impaled by someone, I'd want to be impaled by Max the Impaler because nobody impales better than fucking Max the Impaler."
[9.0] "Max has one of the best looks in all of wrestling at this moment and I can't wait for them to get big. They have immense power and look that could get them far even they have a ways to go before being considered a veteran. But still finding their stride this early in their career is tremendous."
[6.0] "Max has been impressing the hell out of me in recent months. Their performances in ROH are a spectacle to watch, deploying incredibly devastating power based offense. Combined with a menacing look, Max has all the potential to be one of the best monster heels in any women's division since Awesome Kong."
