The whole stoic foreign powerhouse act felt generic and outdated. Even his look, especially the plain white trunks, did nothing to make him stand out. Overall, he just never felt interesting or main event level."

They really tried getting him over but it never worked, the crowd didn't buy into him the same way they bought into Rusev, (for example) and Kozlov was also quite one-dimensional."

This guy could have been something, but his in ring work wasn't standout and he didn't have it on the mic either. The moment he was paired with Marella, it was the beginning of the end for his WWE career. I know he was a commentator post WWE, but I couldn't tell you anything more about this guy."

Correct me if i'm wrong but how many heels beat The Undertaker clean? This guy was destined for big things and then he seemed to get cancelled (not getting over, which was fair) but he was great to watch int he ring and he also had quite a good comedy duo with Santino but I always think back to what could have been."
Hatef wrote on 05.10.2023:

crs285 wrote on 24.07.2023:

Giantfan1980 wrote on 22.05.2023:

I was at the 2008 Survivor Series when Kozlov faced Triple H (with it turning into a triple threat with Edge at the end) & I can't begin to tell you haw awful that match was. Only think I liked less than his serious run was his goofball comedy run."

[7.0] "I liked Kozlov, for me there was something about him I enjoyed. Yes he was a more generic type big guy but he also carried with him some sambo and mma skills which is less common with big guys in WWE especially pre-2010's. His second showing in WWE as a tag partner of Santino brought out more charisma. But for those saying he had no talent, I disagree, he had a unique approach to the usual foreign heel powerhouse with a sambo-based technicality. However being a big guy his technical abilities got overlooked. Also growing up when Kozlov was active he looked like a realistic badass monster that could inflict pain onto others, almost a modern martial arts approach to a classic wrestling monster heel gimmick"

[5.0] "I liked Vladimir Kozlov in the time when he was a believable WWE champion which was back in 2009 where he actually competed for the title and was in the elimination chamber that year. He was pretty entertaining then. They then made him look like a fool with Santino Marella and that basically ruined his carrier. But he was an okay wrestler so I will give him 5/10."

His style fits so well there. His technical ability which was rarely shown in the WWE is strongly shown, as well as his surprisingly good ground game."
