Still young enough to make an impact in any promotion in the world. It is crazy that in his time in WWE he was in his late teens and early twenties and he was the size he was."

In-ring he's very average, but you'd be to blame if you expect Rene to be putting on 5* matches on a regular basis. Has become fairly popular again online since starting up Café De René. Managed to escape the post WWE world and make a decent career for himself in Japan, but has stagnated in terms of wrestling ability and gimmick."

[6.0] "I like Rene. He was a guy who was definitely too young to be on the main roster and too young to be in an environment that fostered such rampant use of drugs and alcohol. Still, he's had a highly successful wrestling career thats brought him a ton of success and recognition despite him being with the WWE for only a few years. He had great size and presence for only being 19, he wasn't the best in ring wrestler but he more than made up for that based on his look and physicality. I wish WWE could have done more with him, I feel like he was a guy who couldve been a major player in the US title scene when he was moved over to Smackdown but due to whatever reason that never materialized. Still, I like Rene, his podcast is great too"

Smooth, reliable, very understanding of the give n take/ebb n flow that makes for good wrestling. Great facial expressions and body language. VERY Attractive face, body, hair and everything; he could be a handsome hero or a full of himself overly arrogant heel. Problem is, when you work solid and stable with everyone you tend to lose your own identity and apparently he's finally found that, in Japan. I don't watch Japanese wrestling but good for him. 6.5"

He's got a great thrust kick as well as a nice gotch-style piledriver. Its a shame he wasn't allowed to use his fireman's carry Michinoku driver in WWE, as it was deemed too similar to Cena's FU at the time. In WWE Rene had excellent selling and facial expressions that always made his opponent look like a million bucks, check out his stunner sell for a great example of this."

[8.0] "I really liked Rene Dupree! The French Phenom had a ton of potential and I was excited when I learned he was drafted as a singles guy to SmackDown. It's just too bad that they never really gave him a chance, I felt like he could've been a solid United States Champion. That could've garnered some massive heat. As a performer, he was easily the best of La Resistance and the French Tickler was entertaining. Let's not forget Fifi either. Looking back, Dupree could've been a good main event player, but it sadly never unfolded."

[8.0] "Rene is an underrated talent in my eyes back in the WWE he started when he was 18 (started wrestling and working at shows at 13) had a great physique, cut good promos and was an absolute heet magnet - possibly the best heel at that time. La Resistance was a good start for him on the main roster and he became the youngest champion ever at 19. He was also main eventing Raw sometimes. He should've had more when he went to Smackdown sure he had a push against Cena but imagine if he won the US Title that would've been massive heet. The tag team with Kenzo Suzuki was quite forgettable but they did win the tag belts so it wasn't a complete fail. I liked his short run in the new ECW too he had heet. If he had a mentor in the back like Randy Orton did I think Rene could've been a world champion but politics and drugs seemed to of got the best of the young prospect. He works in Japan now and has done reasonably well hard to believe that he's only 37 when I watched him in WWE was 17 years ago! Hopefully will see him in a big promotion like NJPW or even back in America one day as I still believe he has a lot to offer"

There skits and promos were funny as hell, I no clue what happened or why he left wwe he just sort of vanished. One of those guys who could have had a big time career."

[7.0] "It's quite strange how Rene never actually got over in the WWE. Brought in at a remarkably young age, he showed from his early stuff as apart of La Resistance that he could play a pretty strong heel (even if the whole "I'm a evil foreigner" was beyond played out at this point, it still got heat) and was a solid worker, even if their tag team was brought in at one of the lowest points for the tag division. Rene by himself had all the tools to make it there: a impressive shape, tall, blond, and with better than average ring skills to boot. Make no mistake, he WAS given pushes, but it just never seemed to click together. All of his feuds made him seem like a joke and completely not a threat to his opponents unless he cheated, which made him seem far less threatening. A bizarre tag team with Kenzo Suzuki (who himself was far from getting over) and jobbing out to Stevie Richards on ECW didn't exactly help matters. From what I've seen out of his indie work, he seems to have plateaued and actually might have gotten worse since then, considering he can't seem to keep a stable wrestling job at any company."

DanTalksRasslin wrote on 16.06.2019:
[6.0] "It's always been a bit surprising Dupree didn't have more success in WWE than he did. Upon arrival, he had a solid if unhoned in-ring skillset, a good look, good natural charisma if not mic skills, and seemed a bit of a wunderkind, picking up his first WWE Tag Title before turning 20. After the split of La Resistance, a somewhat unremarkable tag run with Kenzo Suzuki, and a failed semi-repackaging in WWEECW, he departed the company, he went on to a few notable runs with All Japan and WRESTLE-1 but has otherwise largely kicked around the international independent scene without staying any one place very long, limiting his visibility. He's still relatively young at 35, so the window for a return at a high level may not yet be completely shut."

[6.0] "Hmm, it's really mystifying why Dupree didn't become at least a consistent upper midcarder in his run in WWE. In his time in La Resistance, at 19 you could tell Dupree has the brightest potential. He has the look, star quality and he was talented in the ring. On the stick, he was decent and worked with his accent rather than against it. However, a weird tag team with Kenzo Suzuki and just a loss of momentum just stopped him from being anything further. He's back on the indy circut after working Japan, with some of the worst tattoos."
PWC wrote on 20.06.2015:
[6.0] "Out of the whole group of La Resistance, Rene Dupree was easily the best one of the three. (Rob Conway and Sylvan) being the other two. Youngest tag team champion on record (age 19) and him bringing a dog named Fifi to the ring and the France flag with him to the ring, generated good heel from the crowd. Rene Dupree had a near fatal hernia injury while working for the indies in 2006 and I still wonder if the guy is still wrestling given his relatively young age."

[10.0] "Rene Dupree was always one of my most favorite superstars when I used to be a teenager watching him in WWE from 2003 to 2007! It sucks though that an incredible talent like Rene Dupree wasn't anything more than a great mid-card and tag team wrestler in WWE and didn't have at least one singles title put on him either along with those 2 tag title reigns he achieved. If Rene didn't have such a drug problem in those days and if he wasn't unfortunately getting heat a lot behind the scenes in WWE, I think he probably would've been a bigger heel superstar than he was made out to be and he would've lived up to his full potential without a doubt in my mind!"

[9.0] "Out of all the wrestlers that were ever in La Resistance, Dupree was definitely the best. He was a solid heel, with decent mic technique. His in ring skill was great, and with it, he had numrerous good matches. He worked very well as a heel, and (in my opinion) could have moved up to upper midcard or higher."
