And since leaving the WWE, he's been arguably even better, with 2025 being an amazing year for Mistico. All of this makes his failures in the WWE, where he seemingly was botching something new every week all the more baffling. The weird lighting they used and the fact that he refused to learn English did not help, but surely there is more to it than that. Undoubtedly a legend of the business, and it's even more impressive that he managed to rebuild his reputation after such a calamitous time on wrestling's biggest stage."

[10.0] "Mistico's 2025 will go down as one of the greatest runs in wrestling history. At this phase of his career, Mistico has everything: the presentation, the charisma, the in-ring ability, and everything in between. He's the biggest draw in lucha libre right now, and it might not even be remotely close."

But more importantly, Mistico is one of the best wrestlers in not just Mexico, but the world. [10.0] "I was young when Mistico was in WWE so I have some pretty fond memories of him from that time, and his current run in CMLL is has been some of the best wrestling of the past few years. His early years had some excellent matches.as well. If you haven't seen his work in CMLL before or after WWE then you're missing out on some of the best work you'll ever see."

[9.0] "The fact that millions will only ever know him as Sin Cara is frankly a disgrace to the absolute legend that encompasses Mistico's career. Years before he made it to WWE, he was far and away the brightest young star of lucha in the 2000s and had one of the most beautiful themes in all of wrestling written specifically for him. It was unfortunate but understandable that he made little effort to adapt to a wrestling style so foreign to him, and what should have been a logical continuation of his career and elevation in the mould of Bryan Danielson around the same time turned into more of a KENTA-esque run, with injuries rife and mid-card status sticking to him like humidity on a summer day. Returning to CMLL, he has underwent a stunning revitalization in the 2020s and his appearances with AEW have cemented his icon status in lucha even further into the American audience he once failed to break into only 10 years earlier."

[10.0] "Mistico has had flaws throughout his career but him being the face of two separate boom periods of CMLL makes him undeniable. His work since the pandemic has solidified his place as one of the greatest luchadores of all time if there was doubt before."

Big singles matches he feels like a god and even the trios matches he makes them seem like big deals most the time. My hot take I guess is that Mistico is severely underrated because of one a bad run on a big stage."

Mistico is really great at everything and I dont see him not joining the group of old man luchadores still doing killer flips and having great matches. Unfortunately the vast majority of peoples perceptions of mistico (at least in america) is his time in wwe and that "hE aLwAyS bOtChEs", but at this point that type of thinking is just unsaveable. Mistico is a legend"

On top of that, he's still able to deliver his match at a high level to satisfy those who packed the house to see him. Mistico has had many great matches but what's most impressive is how he engages with the audience in any given match. He wrestles often and his role is usually to make sure the paying customer got their money's worth. He does that as well as anyone ever."

[10.0] "Mistico is the ace of CMLL and has been a ambassador for Lucha Libre as a art form currently during Lucha's massive rise in popularity in America, In the Mid to Late 2000s he was one of the best wrestlers in the world before going to WWE where it didn't work out for him , A middling run in AAA followed before he came home to CMLL where he picked up where he left off and is simply the best wrestler in the world all things considered."

Its a damn shame that alot of people only know of him as Sin Cara and think hes a bad wrestler because the wwe guys simply couldnt work his style. Mistico is one of the best and most popular luchadors of all time. An arena mexico icon of the 2000s. I hope that one day he will be recognized by everyone for his greatness."

[10.0] "The last larger than LIFE lucha libre star. He has been over for over two decades, spectacular runs in CMLL. He has won everything, has been champion for thousands and thousands of days, and has solidified himself as a legend of the sport. Doesn't have the greatest mask collection, but he has some crazy Apuestas matches in his belt. Místico is the definition of aura, and the gimmick is just spectacular. Any other run of his is questionable, but I don't think it ever was his fault. Piss poor booking at WWE and AAA, the latter which gave him horrible presentation. He is in my Mount Rushmore."

[9.0] "The best luchador I've ever seen and always puts on banger matches in CMLL. his WWE run was hot garbage but other than that he is an amazing talent. He is one of the biggest draws in Mexico and has amazing athleticism that is rivaled by little to no one. Super fun talent overall with years of experience and fun matches."

[10.0] "Mistico is *the* luchador of the modern age. Dazzling athleticism, technical ability and crowd connection almost unmatched in the entire sport. An Arena Mexico main event can be made or broken by his inclusion or exclusion in the match. Mistico is also a treat to see in other promotions (WWE run aside)."

[7.0] "Very talented with some great light-weight style wrestling but I hate the style of Mexican wrestling (as in AAA and CMLL style), so I really struggle with his matches. But very talented"

If you only know him from his American excursion please watch his matches against Perro Aguayo Jr. or even 2023s recent match against Templario."

[10.0] "Wherever this man appears he comes off as a major superstar. He can get over every quickly. His moves are a sight to behold and he executes them smoothly. His appearances in AEW have all been a delight and he is the guy in CMLL. I would love to see him mix it up more with the main eventers of AEW."

[10.0] "Unfortunately still known best in the English speaking world for his ill fated WWE run, I love Mistico's CMLL work. Both runs. It's a joy to see him back on top. The guy has an aura that is unmatched by almost any other masked wrestler. You know it's a big deal when he makes his way out in Arena Mexico."

[6.0] "I have no real idea why but he is a guy that has just never ever landed for me. He is clearly a big star in Mexico but I don't think I have ever truly loved any of his work."

[7.0] "I like a lot of what he does but man is La Mistica a crap way to end a good lucha match. Predictable as hell, and one of the worst looking armbars. Every Mistico match is better if he loses or uses a different finisher."

[9.0] "Undeniable all time great. Mistico had a rough time in WWE and a rough few post-WWE years, but once he got his name back in 2021 he's been on fire again and it feels like he's back at his peak. His run from the 00s was incredible and he's hitting those heights again, it's been fantastic to see."

[9.0] "A legend, Caristico is a legend of Mexican wrestling, he has won everything that can be won and starred in all the important events, he had a small fall in WWE, but other than that he is a legend and a complete wrester."

[10.0] "Caristico is a mega draw and one of the best current luchadores in the world, la mistica is breathtaking, he can be put in just about any situation and thrive (except WWE)."

[3.0] "Another massively overrated and seriously underwhelming mega-draw who gets all the glory while the true big talents (Blue Panther, Mr. Niebla, Ultimo Guerrero, Virus etc) had to work twice as hard to cover up for him. Old lucha libre hands are often grumpy and living in the past but they had a point about Caristico: outside of his signature move, La Mistica, he had not much going on for him and now that other wrestlers have been using it for a while it's evident Caristico is not even particularly good at it. Had not Dave Melzer become his number one admirer and publicist I honestly doubt the WWE would have even bothered hiring him considering what a massive fiasco his tenure as Sin Cara was. After being literally laughed out of the promotion Caristico, a very skilled backstage politician, managed to claw and worm his way back to CMLL, but not before Paco Alonso's company had given the Mistico gimmick to a far more skilled wrestler than he is. That poor young man must be having the time of his life having Caristico breathing down his neck to get his old money-making gimmick back."

[7.0] "Mistico, now Caristico is one of the most popular Luchadors in Mexico. He is a massive draw in Mexico and can back up his popularity pretty well in the ring. Mistico's main problem comes with his attitude. He has a massive ego. This is going to happen regardless though. He is one of the biggest stars in Mexico, of course, he has a big head. Overall Mistico is a solid luchador whos glory days are behind him but can still draw for CMLL."

[8.0] "Incredibly charismatic and athletic performer. Couldn't quite cut it in WWE. Bounced around AAA and various Mexican indies after his release before eventually returning to CMLL. Managed to reclaim a good portion of the magic he lost since his return in 2015. Has had many great matches with a variety of wrestlers and can still set the crowd on fire like no one else."

[8.0] "Luis went from being a superstar and incredible crowd draw in CMLL as Mistico, to being a failed experiment in WWE as Sin Cara. His poor WWE run soured people on the guy, but Luis/Mistico was still a top talent."

[8.0] "Fantastic wrestler, generally shitty person with a (possibly well earned) ego. It's difficult to wish him success, but he will probably go down in history as one of the great luchadores of recent decades"

[6.0] "Caristico's attitude issues have left a permanent negative impression on his career. He is immensely talented but he is his own worst enemy. It's too bad because before he went to WWE, he was on his way to a potentially legendary career."

[10.0] "He is truly amazing...... I have seen his some New Japan and CMLL Matches and he never fallen to impress me, yeah his time in wwe was not good enough, but nobody can't ignore that he was biggest draw of Mexico in between 2000's."

[7.0] "It's surprising that I don't give him a 10, even if he happens to be my favorite wrestler. But I don't think he deserves a 10. This is because although he has very unique styles went it comes to wrestling, and has very complex and entertaining aerial movies, he can't handle pain. If you don't understand what I mean, he puts all of his strength in his moves, that he doesn't have the energy to move on. It may be understandable for some circumstances, but many times he wasn't able to put forth everything he has. Therefor, that might be the reason he is now in NXT. Even though I'd rather have him in the main roster, I think having a tag team partner (like Kalisto) that has the same highflying skills as he does himself will help him move on. He deserves a high rating, but he's not perfect, because he does have a lot to work on, but a lower rating than 5 isn't realistic. I'm not saying this because I like him, I am saying this because this is my true opinion of him. He has wrestled a lot, and even when he does have matches against Bray Wyatt, or anyone else, I know thar Sin Cara can't defeat them. I think having a mentor like Rey Mysterio really did help him. But I think he deserves more than he is offered. In my opinion he is a very underrated wrestler."

[9.0] "This rating is for Mistico. He is amazing and captivating and by watching him it's no wonder why he's held in such high esteem in Mexico. Sin Cara (either one) deserves a 2. Since posting this, Luis Urive (as Sin Cara) has returned to Mexico as Sin Cara. I haven't seen a full match yet, but from clips I've seen online, he's back to his old self. Hopefully his new run in AAA will help him restore his reputation and make up for all of this lost time."

[9.0] "When Sin Cara came to WWE with so much hype after wrestling in Mexico as Mistico, my eyes were always glued to the screen whenever Sin Cara had a match on TV cause he had amazing, captivating moves that made him stand out from everyone else. Everything about his character is different and unique from everyone else from his in-ring abilities, his mask and attire, his entrance, and the dimmed lights during his matches alone. But I really think despite the hype, WWE should've brought him down to developmental first like they do with every other wrestler instead of bringing Sin Cara on the main roster straight away because in a way that kind of hurt Sin Cara from the start. Now that WWE doesn't do much with him and he's become pretty much injury prone, Sin Cara is basically ruined now. With that being said though, I did lose respect for Sin Cara recently when he just gave up very quickly after hurting his finger in a match against Alberto Del Rio this past Monday on Raw because no other wrestler would do that. However that doesn't mean I don't like Sin Cara anymore. I obviously want him to succeed, but unfortunately, as much as it pains me to say this, I don't think WWE is the right place for him to be at this point."
