[8.0] "One of the biggest draws of the 90's, especially when pairing with Volador Sr. , but unfortunately his body started breaking much earlier than expected so his time at the top of the AAA was limited. Looking back it's easy to see why Rey Misterio Sr. (possibly the most powerful jefe of the Tijuana/Baja California territory) was so hot on him he gave him the Rey Misterio II gimmick early in his career: Misterioso is the guy who changed the way tecnicos worked in the ring. Before Misterioso, unless working a rare face vs face match, tecnicos were expected to work a certain style, mostly mat based with a few flashy moves thrown in. Misterioso instead worked a far more dynamic style which may be likened to a natural but extreme evolution of that of Huracán Ramirez and Matematico: basically look Volador Jr. nowadays and you get the idea. But back in the early 90's it was stuff nobody had seen before."
