He was solid wrestler btw, teamed with Samoa Joe, was good in IWGP and main-eventer in the TNA, NWA. Update after 10 months. I want to see this man wrestle, man we need him in the ring, it was like LA Knight playing Max Dupri xD Nick still killing this role of GM, but man is only 39 and can show us something inside the ring that we maybe would like :)"
[8.0] "I don't think he was anything too special as a wrestler but he's been killing it as a general manager. He shows a ton of personality and I love how he always announces matches on the fly. One of the best parts of smackdown."

"Mr. Aldis is so much more than a great GM for Smackdown, he's a underrated gem of a star in his own right. For a while he WAS the NWA when a lot of people didn't care for it at all many tuned it for Aldis alone. He made being NWA World Heavyweight Champion mean something again, very Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkel and Ric Flair esq type of champion and wrestled just as good. He may have only had the title twice but go watch him v Cody for the NWA Title at All In 2018 and see the build to that match it was amazing a Aldis was a major reason for it. Plus he married Mickie James id say he's winning at life."

[9.0] "I still can't pretend he's the most entertaining in the ring, but this SmackDown GM run has shown him to be one of the better actors in TV wrestling right now. This is a guy who could wrestle tomorrow but still be on WWE TV as a character ten or twenty years from now."
TheOneAndOnlyCactus wrote on 24.08.2023:
[8.0] "Nick Aldis has come a long way from his days as Brutus Magnus, where he was put on TV way too early in TNA. Aldis is a throwback to the 80s NWA. He's not flashy, he's not the quickest, but he is crisp, sharp in the ring. His work is very effective, and as a result in his prime he was constantly good, even if rarely excellent between the ropes. While not dripping with the most amount of charisma that you will ever see, Nick Aldis is still a pretty good talker in most environments, capable of getting his point across rather well more often than not."
DEADLOCK66 wrote on 16.08.2023:
[8.0] "Nick Aldis has improved his character and storytelling since being Magnus in TNA. Aldis is a bit of an homage to old-school wrestling storytelling. NWA and he felt like a perfect fit, a modern-day take on territorial wrestling when WWE and WCW were the powerhouses. It was evident back then being picked as the young gun future of TNA because he had the right look and wrestling skills but needed more character work. Although flexible over the years with the British invasion to main event mafia to the current national treasure. His best days might be past him, or he could go on to have another big run with a variation of his current character. I understand the criticism if Aldis isn't the type of wrestler you like to watch in the ring. I like all types of wrestlers as long as you excel at your role. I think he has always done that, so I'm comfortable with the rating I gave him as it is a career rating, but I also believe he has the potential for another great run in the upcoming years."

[10.0] "Nick Aldis is my favorite North American wrestler after Bryan Danielson. Convincing appearance, incredible charisma, perfect ring feeling, and some of the best sales I've seen in wrestling. He is undeservedly deprived of attention only because minimalism has gone out of fashion, but it seems to me that Aldis is an ideal representative of the old school, and he doesn't look like a shadow of Race, Flair, Windham and other progenitors of mainstream wrestling in the USA, he feels like an heir who was entrusted to lead this style forward and not give up. The fact that he still stands for the NWA, although he was GUARANTEED to be offered a contract by major promotions, deserves the highest respect. Whatever material I include with him, be it a promo, a segment, or a match, I will remain satisfied, and it's far from the MOTY matches that he, by the way, is capable of (both matches against Cody, against Scurll, against Murdoch). Anyway, I hope that the era will allow this narcissistic, arrogant Briton to shine at the highest power, so that no one has a chance to call him mediocre. Nick Aldis is amazing."

[7.0] "In the ring, Aldis isn? t flashy. He is very old school in his way big doing things. His presentation though, is pretty outstanding. He looks like a million bucks, and what he? s done for the NWA Worlds title is outstanding. He looks exactly what a top guy in the business should look like. Cuts some high level promos and makes you feel like you? re about to see a major show. He? s been apart of some incredible builds in wrestling. His matches probably cap at 3 out of 5 stars if you use that measure, but that doesn? t matter. You? re simply getting a workman-like, reliable wrestler presented in amazing fashion."
Ma Stump Puller wrote on 16.08.2020:
[6.0] "Honestly, I'm shocked Aldis/Magnus hasn't found himself in the WWE as of yet. He's the kind of guy who could excel in that environment: looks great with a belt, in very good shape physically, athletic and capable in the ring, can cut promos either as a face or heel, etc. His time in TNA was very mixed, and I found most of his singles runs to be lacklustre. The NWA seems to be a better fit for him considering it isn't exactly a promotion with a lot of spot monkey antics or the need for 900 flips, and he's done well to promote the NWA belt, which has for years been basically a complete afterthought (Colt Cabana, a comedy wrestler, winning the belt was a new low) and has brought it back up to a reasonably strong standing. He's not remarkable in the ring by any means, but he's improving every time I check out his matches. In a few years, he could actually be quite great, but for now? I can't really say he's a top guy or anything like that."
jchiofal wrote on 23.01.2020:
[8.0] "If you're looking for Meltzer-ian wrestling classics, Aldi's isn't the wrestler for you. His moveset isn't complex, but it has impact and fits his psychology of working on the back of his opponents. On the mic, he's comfortable as a face, but excels as a heel. His actions in the ring, storytelling, and psychology are honestly some of the best today, and fit the old school feel of NWA. His wrestling is in opposition to the style of today, while also fitting today's wrestling style in some ways. Nothing is flashy, or pretty, but everything he does counts and has a reason for being done. He's a good wrestler, and is deserving to hold the NWA championship"
Cheker wrote on 11.01.2020:
[7.0] "In the ring, he's only "good" (as if there's anything wrong with that), but the way the man carries himself makes you pay attention to him. Nick Aldis carries himself like a wrestler should, and his promos are excellent. Sometimes you're not quite sure whether he's a face or a heel. He's neither. He's Nick Aldis. He found the balance everyone should strive to find."
KyleEnjoysWrestling wrote on 07.08.2019:

ElPolloLoco wrote on 28.04.2019:
[5.0] "Nick Aldis is the bigger and stronger NWA version of New Japan's YOSHI-HASHI: like his Japanese counterpart he's absolutely average in every thing except for the fact he married a far more talented wrestler than he is. I cannot think of a single Aldis thing did in the ring or on the microphone that impressed me. Which would be absolutely fine if he were a midcarder: we need them just like we need main eventers and crazy high flyers. But the pushes he received have been completely out of proportion with his talent. I cannot blame Aldis for them and to be honest I cannot even blame the bookers and promoters who pushed him: talent is being syphoned out of the indies at an ever accelerating pace and we have to make do with what's left."

[7.0] "I see big things for Nick Aldis in the near future. He has been holding onto and bringing new life to the long dead NWA Championship. I commend him and Billy Corgen on this so called Crusade to bring prestige back to the title in there online story line entitled 10 Pounds of Gold. Aldis is one of those wrestlers that has been overlooked for years by myself and many others. His stay in TNA for so long had him lost in the shuffle and his stock fell considerably. Despite winning the TNA title and the GWF title nothing really developed from those endeavors. That has been changing in a very profound way and Aldis is taking place in a landmark event this year called ALL IN. He will be clashing with Cody Rhodes and I predict this match will cast Nick Aldis in a new light. The man carries himself very well as a champion. I am also impressed by his looks, in ring skills and promos. He is as far as I can tell the total package in many ways. My only knock against him is not a fault of his own and it's his lack of marketability at this point. I hope that Nick Aldis breaks out this year and gets the credit he deserves for all his recent accomplishments."

[7.0] "Journeyman main event wrestler, if that isn't a contradiction. Despite not ever quite being seen as one of the best going, he's succeeded in winning the TNA/Impact, GFW and NWA World Championships. In addition to tag titles in TNA, Noah and NJPW (albeit the last one is controversial), as well as a number of other title and tournament victories. He's also found his way to bookings in notable companies like CZW, AAA, ICW, RPW and WCPW. But for whatever reason, he's never quite made himself indispensable or iconic in a promotion. I feel that Aldis could still prove himself to be better than we think he is if he gets on a regular TV schedule outside of Impact... but at present he's been floating on under represented indie cards and is best known for some of the middling days on TNA. I like him, one of the more decorated UK born wrestlers, curious to know what the future holds."

I feel he deserves a opportunity in one of the major companies (WWE or New Japan) as he is the complete package performer."

He is also a good talker and has a good look. In short, a guy with 'superstar' written all over him. Due to atrocious booking and through no fault of his own, his first run with the TNA World Title was a disaster and ultimately a major career setback for him, but he's still under 30 and should have no trouble rebounding in time. I think the sky's the limit for him."

He is the first major British world champion, he's only 27 years old, and Magnus has a lot left to show us."

Above all that stands the blandness of his character, and it stands tall. Don't get me wrong; I'd like to see Magnus succeed and I'm willing to give his matches and honest try, it's just that I can't see past just how boring he is inside and outside the of ropes. It's hard for me to see Magnus as anything more that simply "TNA's British guy"."

Not only can you look at him and see future world champion written all over him, but this guy has every other tool necessary to be a world heavyweight champion someday. Magnus has all the potential in the world to become a world champion and an absolutely fantastic main eventer, it just depends on how TNA uses him. He's doing great right now as one of the up-and-coming talents on the TNA roster and he's in a prominent role on TNA television today, but I really hope they'll eventually utilize him to his full potential because Magnus is a TNA home grown talent that you just cannot throw to the wayside at all."
