[5.0] "His "Walk With Elias" segments became a staple of WWE programming, thanks to his charisma and ability to work a crowd. However, his in-ring work rarely reached the same level as his mic skills, and inconsistent booking made it hard for him to break into the upper card. The later shift to the Ezekiel persona only muddied his direction further. Despite that, Elias showed he could entertain in ways few others could and had the potential to do more with stronger creative support"

[7.0] "Elias has something most wrestlers today don't have: a persona. Elias could retire today and we'll always remember him for his guitar entrance. A good physique, a good look, solid in the ring. Elias may never become a world champion, but he has something more important: a persona that adapts to any company."

"Solid in the ring, great on the mic and never given a decent shot in WWE. The pairing with the Righteous in AEW / ROH seems a great fit to showcase his return. Never understood the hate for him and how over he was for a number of years. He screamed for a midcard run to prove his worth and got lost in the shuffle."

[6.0] "Had a great gimmick with the Drifter Elias and he had the charisma and mic skills to pull it off really well. In the ring he was solid but not somebody who would blow your mind. The Ezekiel gimmick was some fun comedy. Hoping he does well on the indies."

[4.0] "I feel like giving him anything other than a 4 would be a joke, to be honest. His gimmick was good, I'll give him that. The whole walk with Elias thing was decent at the time. But there was obviously a ceiling, and he doesn't have the wrestling ability to surpass that in my opinion. He can talk on the mic, he can make people boo him, make people singalong with him, but moment that bell rings... all that excitment for the wrestler is gone. He cannot wrestle, not in an entertaining way at least."

[5.0] "Elias is charismatic and entertaining, but never really showed something else in the ring, not a special wrestler, he does what he's asked for with quality, and nothing more. He's the typical sports entertainment guy, I enjoyed some things he did, but never saw that he has something else to offer, he's a good talker and effective heel."

[4.0] "Had potential but could never put it all together, I thought them switching his character to Ezekiel was a good move because the "Elias" character had ran it's course and I think they could have done interesting things with that but didn't. He wasn't the best in-ring worker but he had charisma and a good look but injuries and booking got in the way."

[6.0] "During the dark days of WWE from 2017-2019, there weren't many standout wrestlers/talents that helped carry the very mediocre product to be slightly more tolerable. Elias however, was one of the few bright spots during that era, and WWE of course dropped the ball massively with him. While I don't believe Elias is world champion material (far from it might I add), he definitely could have been a really good mid-card heel or even babyface champion, he basically was Joe Hendry before Joe Hendry took off and became a massive star in this year (2024). Elias had a very good talent with his guitar and in-ring, he was quite solid, of course not amazing but serviceable nonetheless. I do hope Elias continues to get over and eventually gets a job with one of the major promotions, he's entertaining and can really do his job well whether it's singing while playing his guitar or even wrestling. I have a lot of respect in the world for this man."

[6.0] "Elias cooked for like 3 month on the mic and WWE proceeds to butch him for 3 years. He's not even a great wrestler but it certainly left much to be desired with now that he's gone."

[7.0] "Criminally underutilized. He's decent in the ring, not everyone needs to be Kenny Omega, has a great build, and good on the mic. It's bizarre how the company fumbled this one"

[5.0] "Elias was okay. At least he had a shtick that made him stand out from 80% of the rest of the guys out there!"

[8.0] "Elias as a promo is so unique, so great, so fun. In 2018-19 he was so over as a heel, and then even as a babyface. Elias was one of my favorite talkers in the whole company. His stuff with John Cena and the Undertaker at Wrestlemania was awesome. He's got a nice look, muscular body, and good acting skills. Elias is everything you want in a professional wrestler...until the bell rings."

[5.0] "A great look and promo ability that got him really over for a while but the gimmick had a shelf life then was messed up completely when they tried to tweak it. His in-ring work is bland and average but he's someone decent to have around in the midcard, gimmick aside."

[6.0] "In terms of character work, Elias is great. He's really great on the mic and has a great gimmick, especially back in 2017-18 when the gimmick was at its peak in popularity. As for in-ring work, he's ok at best"

[6.0] "Average wrestler from what I have seen. Pretty decent look and gimmick but there appears to be some confusion on this site as he and Ezekiel are clearly two different people... That was the only entertaining story of Vince's godawful final year as head of WWE."

[7.0] "If we were talking about Elias, I could certainly have given a 7. But we are talking about Ezekiel, the character who killed the contact Elias made with the audience. Any Ezekiel promo - even one of the funny ones - has never been as good as Elias' performances. Edited: 10/18/22. Good old Elias is back, so the rating goes a step up."

[6.0] "Hey man, props to Elias/Ezekial for making whatever situation work to the best of his ability. I think he's a good guy to further develop your undercard, who you know what you're going to get in the ring from."

[6.0] "Elias is a solid midcarder. I have been impressed with his recent work as Ezekiel and he seems to be improved in-ring compared to his previous run as Elias, but I'll need to see a bit more from him to feel completely confident making that statement."

[8.0] "Ezekiel/Elias has had one of the most entertaining characters in recent memory. He manages to make pretty much any character they give him work and that includes this Ezekiel storyline right now that started off mundane and stupid but turned into the most entertaining storyline on Raw. And hey, people gave him flak for getting cheap heat by insulting cities and sports teams as Elias, but it's an undeniable way to get heat. Should heels stop doing it when they've been doing it for several decades, or probably over a century at this point, I don't believe so. I digress, Elias is a great character worker, fantastic on the mic, good look, average in-ring skills, he's a great performer overall, but he's never been one of the best. Perhaps with the incoming push they keep alluding to he can get there."

[9.0] "Very good sports entertainer, knows how to work the crowd. Should have a run with a midcard belt. I also think he would be a good MITB winner."

"I really like Ezekiel, and think he makes for a great addition to the WWE (though I confess to not having followed his work prior to his arrival at WWE). What I don't understand is why his profile here has been lumped together with that of his older brother Elias... They're siblings, not the same person ! What would we think if cagematch were to simply lump together the profiles of Bret and Owen Hart, Dory and Terry Funk, the Briscoes etc.? I hope that this mistake is rectified soon."

[8.0] "Ezekiel - His current status with finding out if he is Elias' twin brother or fooling everyone, very funny and awkward but he looks very confident if they end this clowning and start promoting him as a worthy Main Event wrestler he will definitely do a great work."

[4.0] "Good on the mic and can deliver his persona well. However, finding ways to take advantage of that can be hard. Usually that leads to the direction of a big match but one has to be able to deliver in the ring for that to work. Elias's ring work isn't great and at this time in his career it's fair to say he's not getting better than mediocre. He's far better as a heel as his face work didn't do him much favors and I think stalled a lot of his momentum although there was always a ceiling to that. Entertaining in certain segments and good for cheap heat but you can only do so much when he lacks pretty much everything else. He's good for comedy segments though as his current Ezekial persona has shown but like many other things with him I think there is a shelf life to it."

[8.0] "While he is not a top notch wrestler, he possesses attributes that elite grapplers lack. He knows how to communicate with crowds, he is talented at evoking reactions. He will always be a big asset, in any promotion that he ends up."

[8.0] "A talented entertainer, but not a very good wrestler. Elias, even using primitive heel's tricks, could cause a loud reaction, as in the famous segment with Kevin Owens when they weren't allowed to say a word. He is charismatic and has no problem in connecting with the public. As a face, he was very boring, but best version of Elias whom we all better remember could often be almost the best part of the weekly show."

[10.0] "Elias has got a lot of charisma, connects with the fans and has got good in ring skills. He is someone who deserves to be in the main event scene and is very underrated."

[6.0] "Although he is pretty much always destined to be a midcarder, Elias is a pretty decent act all things around. he's a pretty good heel, drawing heel heat and unleashing his inner Jeff Jarrett with guitar shots (although I don't know if he's drawn a dime or not.), but his moveset leaves a bit to be desired, although I did rather like his Undertaker Old School esque move, which is quite literally WALKING WITH ELIAS. All in all, not bad, but there's a reason he hasn't really gotten to a main event level. on a side note, I really like his theme."

[5.0] "Elias has one thing really going for him: cheap heat. A LOT of cheap heat. Which is fine for where he is as a low card act that gets pushes whenever but he's not a good ring worker if it's not a brawl and he's blatantly very limited in what he can do. He can work basic matches where he's targeting a body part with basic stuff or playing a crowd with heel antics, but mostly very punch-kick in what he does. Fine if you want a extra number but he's not anything beyond average beyond some entertaining promos."

[6.0] "Not a great wrestler, but a very good entertainer with a good gimmick. I'm sure he can improve his ring skills."

[5.0] "Elias is a great showman. Good at mic, good charisma, and a lovable heel. But he has no in-ring skills, and that's the issue. If Elias was only a manager I give a 10 easily, but he's an actual wrestler, so I can't put over than 5."

[8.0] "Nothing really to write home about in-ring but he's got great charisma and his guitar songs as a heel are hilarious and on top of that, one of the few characters in WWE"

[3.0] "The Chris Cornell of Wrestling! Looks a lot like him. Great at playing guitar that it. Has no wrestling style."

[2.0] "Elias gets a 2 and not a one simply because he? s extremely funny. His character is terrible and the same thing over and over, they throw him in jeans I assume only because they know he couldn? t pull off any legitimate wrestling moves anyway so they want to make him look like he can slug it out because to WWE ? If you put them in jeans they automatically become a street fighter. ? He needs a role on commentary when Smackdown moves to Fox but even then it could be terrible.. I wouldn? t mind him interviewing and doing backstage segments but please stop making him wrestle. It? s really really bad. He discredits anyone he beats, and he? s just not good at all. I can? t think of a single athletic competitive wrestling match I? ve ever seen him in. Please for the love of God replace his airtime with Zack Gibson in a few months and don? t ever look back. Anybody else just expecting him to break out the song Wonderwall?"

[5.0] "He has potential. Too bad the WWE buries him and doesn't try to at least slightly push him just to get an idea of how the crowd will react. I think his in-ring skills are decent, although he is better at cutting a promo."

[3.0] "The most repetitive gimmick in the history of Raw. Come out, insult city, get interrupted, leave. EVERY WEEK! Raw is currently having record lows & people complaining about the show in masses & the repetitive stuff like Elias' segments are a prime example of why the show sucks. He was crap in NXT & I'm no fan as he's on the main roster."

[8.0] "Elias has a great look and his character is able to connect with the audience as either a face or a heel. He always gets good crowd reactions. It is a shame he doesn't wrestle very often on TV but I find his character to be very entertaining."

[8.0] "Athletic and very entertaining. Moves very well for a big man and gets the crowd behind him. Story lines that never allow him success against the top people in the WWE system creates a lot of negative ratings and statements against him. He works the mic very well and has the potential for singles success or in a tag team."

[7.0] "Elias is a great example of using a great gimmick elevating a otherwise mediocre wrestler. Elias doesn? t have quite have the chops to be considered a credible threat quite just yet, but his gimmick is one of the most interesting in current day WWE. The guy by all means needs to work on his mat skills, but his gimmick is what gives him this rating, as I think it is superbly executed."

[4.0] "I'm glad he managed to get over with his weird music gimmick because I like him as a person but as a wrestler he's just boring"

[8.0] "I liked him as a heel now i cant wait to see how this face turn goes i mean hes good in the ring, on the mic hes a beast and you cant argue that he have a lot of charisma this guy deserve to be atleast a midcarder."

[5.0] "I don't know man, he always does the same thing and I was never interested by a match that saw him involved, not even when he wrestled Seth Rollins, he may be trendy in 2018 and I'm happy for him if they push him, I just wish they'd give him a secondary belt so that we can see him doing something different instead of having a concert and a random match every week."

[6.0] "I was not a fan of Elias' NXT work at all. However, he has really found his stride on the main roster and I can see him being a top tier player in a few years. He makes his gimmick work, even if it's with cliche local sports team jabs, and he's actually rather solid in the ring and on the mic."

[5.0] "Elias is good but as it stands he's like 2007-08 Miz. Good gimmick, kinda poor wrestling ability. Hopefully he improves more in big match situations so he can grab that midcard title soon."

[8.0] "An excellent character who never fails to entertain. Whilst he could use some in-ring improvement he more than makes up for it in terms of promo work and crowd interaction."

[9.0] "Elias is one of the highlights of RAW. He has solid in ring skills and hios mic work is great. The crowd loves him. It's a shame that he isn't in the MITB ladder match. And his average score should be higher."

[9.0] "First of all I was very surprised. this average score is certainly less than ok. I would have an average of at least 8. 00. Elias is a talented wrestler, has a different segment and has a very high microphone ability. I think at least 9"

[7.0] "His decent ring skills are complimented by a polarizing promo act that is becoming slightly stale. However, he's always entertaining on Raw and has some of the standout segments of the last year."

[5.0] "While his in-ring work was somewhat hit-and-miss in NXT, and his gimmick took awhile to come into its own, since hitting the main roster Elias has put a lot of the pieces together and become a decent ring worker and a good heat generator. He's become a reliable midcard heel act - time will tell if he can continue up the card."

[1.0] "I do not like this guy. His face is very hard and uninspiring. Is he funny? Not. A good wrestler? No. What really makes him special and unreachable? Literally nothing if you ask me. There are more talented names waiting to be pushed instead of Elias. I think he does not deserve the place he is. That man is the most overpushed wrestler at the moment."
