[3.0] "Remember that period of time when AEW tried to gaslight us that Action Andretti would be an important wrestler in the future? Well the future came and he is a jobber that can't really talk or wrestle all that well."
[5.0] "One of the best debuts in AEW and then he got so many achievements like... none! He continues appearing on television in the tag team division either in AEW or ROH so it means that they still trust him but he really ends up being a transitional rival, for cases like Andretti's is why AEW dark was necessary since there he got a decent promo against QT Marshall and could have continued improving."
[2.0] "Very boring wrestler who can't do anything but flips in the ring. Looks like a loser and his character fits that I guess. No idea how this guy has been able to maintain TV time in AEW."
[5.0] "The guy beat Chris jericho for what? A 1 month feud with him and a cheap pop. Action is a okay in ring talent with little to no charisma and just shouldn't be on a stage like aew"
[4.0] "He's like modern-day Fandango in the sense that he's a guy Jericho tried to get over with a big win against him, but it failed spectacularly. But at least Fandango eventually had a low card run. It doesn't seem like Action will even get that. I feel bad because it's not like he's bad in the ring. But he's just a dime-a-dozen character in a sea of people who are all pretty good. Maybe it would be best for him to go outside of AEW to find himself in the indies."
[6.0] "Twice I thought he was going to have a good run. First was his win over Chris Jericho but they did nothing with that and his gimmick was just generic smiling babyface. The second was this current run with Lio Rush but just like his other gimmick changes since his debut it has just been him being a mirror to his partner vs having anything unique of his own."
"When Action Andretti debuted for All Elite Wrestling, I was immediately impressed with his athleticism. Since his debut, however, he hasnt been showcased at a level consistent with how he debuted. If I was Andretti, Id obviously be upset. But Id be even more upset if I was Chris Jericho. Somebody the status of Jericho should only be putting young guys like Andretti over if there are plans to do something big with him moving forward. What a waste! Unfortunately, AEW seems to do a lot of start/stop pushes like this. And dont get me wrong, AEW isnt the only promotion to drop the ball like this. In fact, WWE has done it at a much greater scale with John Cena losing to the likes of Austin Theory and to a lesser extent, Solo Sikoa."
[6.0] "Really really good athlete, not good enough between his moves to be a great wrestler... yet. Has a lot of room to grow, but unfortunately hasn't improved since being on TV. He's so young and has so much time to figure it all out, so hopefully it will get there, and I trust that over time he'll get there, but unfortunately in 2024, he's just not putting it all together yet."
[5.0] "Andretti is very athletic and acrobatic and can do some impressive things in the ring, but he really needs to learn some craft and develop himself into something more. He makes a lot of mistakes and someday this can be really dangerous. He also needs to work some other fundamentals, like charisma and mic skills, he seems very generic nowadays."
[3.0] "Who? I mean come on folks, the guy can flip around like crazy which is just impressive as all hell, but that's literally it. Guy lacks any real wrestling ability, he doesn't have a look that would seperate himself from others, he's not good on the mic, has ZERO muscle or size to him. Very good at doing a flip or two, but that's it. Would be great for WWE Speed because it's only 3 minutes and he can flip all he wants, but aside from that... yeah, not good. Personification of a nothing wrestler who is incredibly athletic, not enough to be anything other than a jobber unless he seriously improves and gains weight."
[5.0] "As it stands now, there isn't anything special about Action Andretti. He's incredibly young, so he can always improve. Until then, it wouldn't be honest for me to rate him above 5/10."
[4.0] "Still figuring out his character and maturing his in ring style as he is still young. Working ring of honor will let him improve in a major promotion while being protected from constant scrutiny. Got a foot in the door from jericho, but still needs experience before becoming a featured talent."
[7.0] "Let's go, buddy! This guy showed he could cut a solid promo on Dark a few weeks back against QT Marshall and really brought the heat on Wednesday with the high-flying offense. Sky's the limit at this point, and looking forward to future matches from this guy. Basing this rating on potential -- subject to change if he drops the ball. 2 October 2023 update: okay, might've jumped the gun a bit. He's good, but the Jericho match said more about Jericho than it did about Andretti. He's good, but he needs an opportunity for more character work. He doesn't do promos anymore, which works to his detriment, and his selling/psychology is super raw. Give him time and he'll flourish, but difficult to get excited for him nowadays."
[6.0] "Young star with a lot of potential. He is a very good athlete and has had very good matches with Sabre Jr and Jericho already in his career. Will need some work on the mic. Developing well and could be a star in AEW in his future."
[5.0] "I think he will settle into a solid midcard guy over the next few years. He has good athleticism and a one up on other similar guys due to Jericho's interest. He is getting steady work in ROH and guest appearances on AEW, which will give him TV time to develop the other areas of his wrestling repertoire."
[6.0] "He is a good high flyer, but he still seems like a typical wrestler that you see these days, I don't see that "IT" Factor. It is a surprise that Chris Jericho chose to put him over instead of someone like Konosuke Takeshita. I don't get that one. Konosuke has the size, talent, "IT" Factor, crowd connection & fan support, charisma, all of that, and he struggles to defeat the big names in AEW. He could have used the Jericho rub to turn his fortunes around, but instead the rub goes to Andretti who has already lost the momentum. Just strange."
[4.0] "I'm really not seeing it with Andretti. He has the potential to be a decent high flyer one day, but at the moment it seems that he has been given far too much, far too soon. He seems green, and has botched several major spots early in his AEW run (the finish to the match with Jericho, and the frightening ladder match spot with Guevara). He has a fairly bland look, and while his promos have been serviceable so far he doesn't stand out much in that department either. I am really unclear as to why he has been chosen for his current spot."
"Needs a change of gear, a name change, and some more character development. Pretty good in ring. Not exactly sure why Jericho picked him out of all the up and comers, but I definitely see potential. I just thought Jericho would take a chance on someone slightly more comfortable in their character."
[5.0] "He looks like an NXT 2.0 guy, he wrestles like an NXT 2.0 guy, and he sounds like an NXT 2.0 guy. These are the reasons why he's being pushed like one of many up-and-coming young stars on AEW programming. The match with Jericho feels more and more like a flash in the pan moment. Still incredibly young, so no need to make assumptions, but as of now, it's a 5."
[7.0] "I have to admit, when I first saw Action Andretti on AEW Dark, I was impressed, but I didn't think he would amount to much. But DAMN, this guy proved me wrong. I was out of my seat when he beat Chris Jericho, and now he's a full-time member of the AEW roster. This guy is the future of AEW, along with Top Flight, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, Lee Moriarty, etc."
[8.0] "Never let it be said that Chris Jericho has a bad eye for scouting talent. When I saw Andretti pull off the upset of the century on Dynamite, I got curious about Action and wanted to learn more. Was Jericho on an ego trip trying to prove he could get any old schmuck over with his HOF talents? Well after watching a few of Andrettis matches on Dark, the answer to that question is a resounding NO. This guy has the goods. Everything he does looks incredibly fluid, effortless and beautiful. He has athleticism that jumps out at you, he gets fantastic elevation off the top rope or even from a standing position. His strikes look very solid and believable. And he is a great seller, which is no doubt a major reason he got the crowd in a fever pitch to see him beat Jericho on Dynamite. All in all, he is simply a natural in the ring in a very obvious way. Physically he is a little small in stature but he has a good face for TV, good physique and he exudes confidence and does not shrink in the spotlight. The wrestler he most reminds me of is a very young AJ Styles, in the same way that AJ was technically excellent and very athletic from a early point in his career, but a little generic from the character standpoint. Will Action Andretti live up to that comparison his entire career? Probably not since AJ is a Top 10 All Time talent. But I firmly believe he can get there with an insane devotion to his craft. Because at such a young age the tools he already possesses are very uncommon. I can not wait to see how he develops."
[6.0] "I'm giving him a 6 because I think he has a ton of potential, and I'm curious to see what he does. The matches he's had against QT Marshall and Chris Jericho have been quite exciting, but they have been super safe matches against some of the most tenured workers in the game. I want to see him against people who can't carry him to a great match before giving him anything higher. I like the comparisons to 123 Kid, one of my favorites, and I hope he lives up to it."
[9.0] "Action Andretti is the next AJ Styles, what he did last night with QT Marshall was insane. I actually thought the Indy star was gonna win. Anyway, he is a hard worker over in the east coast. Homegrown from MCW pro Wrestling, (one of my favorites), he can fight anything, he is a nice guy, and a great professional wrestler overall!"
