[7.0] "Pretty fun from beginning to end; not much of a cohesive story being told here, more so relying on the fun spots you typically see in a street fight. Every time I see him wrestle, I realize Kevin Owens is a lot better than I give him credit for."
[9.0] "An absolute mad fun of a brawl to start off the show. Nick Aldis coming out during the match to announce it was brilliant stuff. It felt like an arena match with only 4 people and there was some great spots in this. The debut of Tonga Loa was well done too. That may not have been the case if they had the camera on a different angle because he literally botched it and the ref pulled himself out, but I didn't even notice that until I saw it trending online lol. So it didn't really make too much of a difference for me personally."

[8.0] "I thought it was an excellent match that was a chaotic brawl in front of a super hot crowd in France. I liked the way Owens & Orton controlled the first half of the match, but when Solo & Tama took over they did a lot of damage too. The turning point was obviously after Owens hit the brainbuster through the steel chairs, but Tanga Loa made his shocking WWE debut (or return since he used to be known as Camacho) to help his brother and Solo get the win. I had predicted a win for The Bloodline because I thought this would be where Jacob Fatu debuts, but they went with Tanga Loa here instead. That means they're saving Jacob Fatu for a future show and that's fine with me because it will make this version of The Bloodline stronger. I enjoyed the match."

[8.0] "A real street fight, absolute chaos that never lets up. KO hitting the Fisherman's Buster through the chairs as well as the Samoan drop through the table were both insane spots. The crowd was electric and this would've been higher had it not been for the nonsense interference finish with Tonga Loa. (8/10)"

It is ruthless and violent, doing a great job of highlighting the new Tama Tonga and debuting Tonga Loa. Super fun and chaotic."

[8.0] "preliminary notes: first of all, Tama Tonga really could have benefited from Tonga Loa... not coming to WWE. he's straight up better and more interesting when paired with anyone else, even here as Solo's lackey he's super fun to watch. second of all, Solo really needs to be given more matches like this, please make him lean into the Street Champion stuff again - this match is some of the most "aura" (as the kids say.) that he's had since splitting off from Roman and he feels like he almost has an identity. third of all, watching this close to Backlash 2025 makes me really miss how WWE crowds were not even that long ago, it's crazy to say "I'm Nostalgic For When People Booed The Bad Guys" but things are unbearable right now. anyways, this is a blast, doesn't need much explanation because pretty much any time you get Kevin Owens in a no DQ situation he completely blows everyone away and carries the match on his heavily damaged back and this is no exception. you're never given more than a minute or two without a fun spot but it doesn't have a totally relentless and weightless pace, everything feels properly devastating (maybe partially thanks to Tama Tonga's back being super welted from kendo stick strikes for most of the match, it's nice to see anything like battle damage in a WWE match) without going too far, really my only actual complaint is it all does feel like it ends a bit fast as the instant Tama Loa shows up it's over. still, a lot of fun."

"This is a fast paced, action packed brawl. Even before the match the action is fun and the change to a street fight was an amazing decision. The crowd here is incredible as it is backlash France and arguably the greatest crowd ever. Kevin Owens is incredible and so brutal and Randy is so calculated. Never was a big fan of solo and not too familiar with Tonga but at the start they take a beating well I just don't see them as very threatening. The frog splash through the table was a very fun, brutal spot that was instantly followed by the brutal Samoan drop through the table. Knowing randys history with severe back problems, this hurt a lot to watch. Kevin sells clotheslines amazingly. I think the bins (garbage cans) in wrestling are absolutely pointless as it's so obvious they're just cheap material and a wrestler is basically having to sell getting hit by foil. Gotta love randys power-slams though, so smooth! This is the legendary debut of the infamous Tonga loa."

[8.0] "[3.75*] Incredible match, the funniest of the night, for sure. This is the match that most exceeded my expectations since Shingo Takagi vs Tama Tonga in January, and it is funny that the same guy was on both occasions. The change into a Street Fight was the best decision ever and a boring wrestling match turned into an awesome all-around brawl. Tanga Loa sucks but I laughed the hell out of myself when he came, so thats a W."

[10.0] "***** (10/10) In 2024 WWE had many openers that could make the case of being the greatest all time opening match to any WWE show. You could make the argument that this was the best of the bunch. The crowd alone was making everything seem like a five-star spectacle. Mix that with an actual five-star match, and you get an instant classic that seemed to have fallen from nowhere from the Pro-Wrestling Gods."

It was also a pretty great to debut Tanga Loa, with both he and Tama Tonga (both OG Guerillas of Destiny) in WWE."

[8.0] "In my opinion the best match of the night, this was awesome, so good. It was an excellent choice to make this a street fight, to capitalize on the hot crowd right in the beginning, great decision, the anarchic feel of this fight really fits with the atmosphere we knew we would have here in France. The match was awesome, brutal, a lot of great spots and nonstop action, Kevin Owens was particularly a beast here, as he always is, and Randy is Randy, what a professional, those two lead the action, but Solo was good and Tama Tonga had a great debut, he hook a lot of bumps for the love of the game, his skin had a lot of bruises. The shocking twist about the match was the debut of Tanga Loa, really unexpected, a laughed a lot to be honest, but it's cool to watch the Guerrillas teaming up in WWE for the Bloodline story. The interferences and stuff like that made the ending look a little worse, so the rating downgraded a little bit, but this still was a great one - {***3/4}"

[8.0] "This match was a great way to start the night, the crowd was hot and Orton and Owens seemed to be more over than ever. This match hit all the clichés in the best way possible. Brawling in the crowd, headbutting Samoans, table bumps, using multiple chairs once a piece... It did everything you'd expect but it did it so well that you can't fault it for coloring inside the lines. I loved the "spot" where Orton teased a leap off the barricade, before opting to just step off and punch his opponent instead. The high point of the match was obviously the fisherman's buster through a load of chairs, which looked wicked and sounded even better with the hot crowd roaring for the move. Tonga Loa missing his que was very on brand for him but the referee absolutely saved the finish by yoinking himself out of the ring. Overall just a wonderful way to kick off the show and continue the bloodline storyline."

This was a killer fight down here with pure destruction, KOs buster through the four chairs legit was one of the sickest moves Ive ever seen in my life! Taga Loa arrived in WWE allowing Solo & Tama Tonga getting the W ! Absolutely mad from start to finish !"

Everyone in it played their role (apart from Tanga Loa, I guess), especially the babyface team. I still don't think it's a bad match but the finish takes it a step down, very anti-climatic. 3.25*"

[6.0] "Good fun in large part due to the crowd being really into KO and Orton. This one started really hot but got bogged down in my opinion by the typical WWE walk and brawl tropes - table spots, kendo sticks, garbage cans, etc. Just very unimaginative in that respect. The interference finish due to TANGA LOA of all people also took the wind out the sails a bit. Pretty good but vastly overrated for me due to the energy from the crowd. ***1/4"

Ariel9614 wrote on 23.05.2024:
[9.0] "Incredibly fun opening. Making it a No-DQ match was definitely the right call. I thought it always should've been, considering the story being told, but doing it this way in the "impromptu" fashion led to it feeling extra special for the hot crowd. Match was great, RKOs, chairs, tables, Kevin Owens doing crazy spots, and a surprise debut. Classic big-time Bloodline match antics but perfectly suited for this kinda match and the right team won."
Screaming Enigma wrote on 20.05.2024:
[8.0] "A pretty fun way to kick off the show. The hot crowd here definitely helped things out, but this was still good and entertaining on its own. I did feel like Owens & Orton were basically squashing Sikoa & Tonga at first, but that didn't hamper my enjoyment of the match as a whole all that much. I especially enjoyed the Avalanche Fisherman's Buster from Owens to Tonga."

Got the crowd really into it, and the crowd made it significantly better at that. Debut of Tanga Loa was a genuine surprise, and adds many layers to what seems like an endless storyline with the Bloodline. * * * * 1/4"

Prince Osborne wrote on 15.05.2024:
[9.0] "The change of stipulation at the start was much needed to steer the animosity of this rivalry to new heights, resulting in a tenacious brawl to start the festivities. Orton and Owens possess incredible synergy as a duo that shows respect to each other, whereas Solo's version of The Bloodline is shaping up to a new scale of unpredictability and the addition of Tanga Loa makes it even more interesting. Otherwise, the pacing was well-layered with typical yet nicely executed spots all around. 4.25 out of 5 stars!"

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens worked great as a team and the finish of this match was so fucking incredible with Owens looking like he had the match wok until Tama Tonga's brother Tanga Loe made his out of nowhere WWE Debut and cost them the match. I honestly really enjoyed this match a lot and I'm definitely looking forward to what they have in store for Tanga Loe especially with him now with him joining Solo's version of The Bloodline."

However, I didn't find this great. It lacks innovation, brutality or hatred to reach next level. Still a good way to open the show with great reaction from fans."

A few nice table spots, so that's always appreciated, but nobody in this match was really looking like a guy I am going to have a strong interest in again anytime soon. Debuting a guy as bad as Tonga Loa in a big spot is very funny though, I'll give them that."

Like a throwback to the glory days of the Mid-South Coliseum from the black & white match structure (good guys on top for ages / looooong 2-on-1 beatdown) to the red-hot pro-face / anti-heel crowd to the maddeningly screwy finish with the debuting monster ****1/4"

[8.0] "As a wrestling match it was pretty good and being the start of the event with the pop from the crowd it was spectacular. Kevin Owens and Randy Orton can make a good team but when the power of the storyline must follow then The Bloodline shows up. Finally back this faction now with new faces, minus Solo Sikoa of course. A compelling result that we'll see what it will end up developing into."

[8.0] "A very good opening match that got the crowd jumping from the start. Kevin Owens stays with his tradition of taking some of the nastiest bumps, with the rotating brain buster off the middle rope into the chairs looking fantastic. You have to appreciate Randy Orton still taking some of the bumps he did too after the injuries that took him out a lot of last year, like the Samoan Drop through the table and doing the RKO onto the announce table. The Bloodline also looks good after the win and the debut of Tanga Loa. Solid 3.5 star match."
