The match is mostly fine, nothing exciting ever happens, and the finish was flat with Sting in the cloverleaf for a long while before slowly tapping out. They kept talking about this being the match that could make Magnus, just as Sting vs. Flair helped to put Sting on the map - somehow, I don't think this will be remembered in the same way."
[2.0] "The saddest match I've ever seen from Sting. It's so obvious he didn't care anymore. The crowd couldn't care less about Magnus and Sting's lack of motivation made this a boring, nothing match."
[3.0] "This was a real shame... Sting's final BFG match and with the goal of making a new young star. But between a dead crowd and some sloppy wrestling, the big passing of the torch moment felt forced and unearned. Quite a lot of sloppy wrestling too."
[4.0] "This just didn't work. In theory, Magnus' presentation here should've been transformative for him but in a sign of things to come, it landed to frightening indifference. Few Sting matches in history have such little heat, with the work having no real shot of overcoming that unfortunately. Granted, it's no mechanical disaster and Magnus has his moments, it's just not a match that's going to hook people with its physicality. It's flawed beyond that, with the only positive being its post-match angle, as a Magnus' heel turn slightly softens the blow of this miss. **"

[4.0] "A miss of a match in that Magnus was getting a push and this match was supposed to help make Magnus. Crowd never seemed to buy into the idea that Magnus would win and with how infrequently Sting lost clean in TNA, this should have meant more."
