[7.0] "If this had been allowed to go even 20 minutes it would've been even better. I agree that it felt rushed as the show may have been pressed for time. What they do in the time given is very good but again just a little rushed. Bobby's Alabama Jam was an amazing move and getting the pin with it in the first fall is great booking."

It was a very well-executed underdog story, and it's a shame it wasn't a bit longer, as the ending felt somewhat rushed. Overall, though, it was good work from both guys, with great psychology - Eaton targeting Flair's arm and maintaining a clear advantage throughout the match until one mistake, falling outside the ring and hurting his knee, ultimately cost him the bout."

A parting gift from Flair, with one foot out the door to New York. Bobby looked his usual amazing self. Also, Jim & Tony were super on commentary. You just wish WCW wasn't an inept company, and this match received the time it deserved. It was really good, but it could have been great."

Even with Bobby getting the first fall, nobody bought him as a threat and the last two falls were incredibly rushed. Still really good action but for Bobby to get over here, they needed to have a MOTY contender but the booking cut them off at the knees."

[8.0] "I actually thought this was really good. I can see why there are criticisms that it felt rushed, but considering I looked at the clock as the match was starting I expected that to be the case, and if you go into it knowing it's going to be very short for a 2/3 Falls match then I think you can really just enjoy this for what it is instead of taking exception to it for what it isn't. The execution from both is fantastic - their offence always looks so clean. Eaton does a great job taking control in the first fall (I loved the way he worked over Flair's arm), and the story for the second and third fall works well to give Eaton a bit of an 'out' without it being at Flair's expense or to the matches detriment as a whole. I do think Eaton was a little all over the place with all of the different body parts he was targeting in the first two falls - it felt a bit strange when Flair's arm was just fine despite all the work and Eaton moved on to something else instead. The match probably would have felt a bit more cohesive if he just focused on one, but at the same time I can understand why they didn't want the heel champion to be in a situation where he'd have to look sympathetic by selling an injury. I did also think it was a little questionable and felt a bit off for Eaton to get a clean win with his finisher over Flair in such a short amount of time for the first fall, but I get that they wanted to make him look credible... I just didn't think it was very believable that Eaton could put Flair away so quickly. Minor grievances aside, while I would have loved to see them get longer than 15 minutes, I thought this was very well wrestled and an entertaining main event."

Bobby is actually billed as the TV Champ here but had already lost it on a taping that hadn't aired yet to Steve Austin. Bobby getting a fall on Flair here was great; Eaton was on a pretty good run at this time. Flair was great here at giving to Eaton. This was fun."

It seemed like they were trying to make him "happen", but he just didn't have the charisma to happen."

I thought it was at its best prior to the first fall, once Bobby got that the crowd died as not a single person in that building thought he was going to get a second. I did really enjoy the finish though, someone finally getting pinned while in a figure four and Eaton looking heartbroken."

[6.0] "A decent main event to finish off a very disappointing Clash. Flair put in a tepid performance with Eaton having to bring the quality with his great punches and selling. However with the time cut short, there wasn? t enough room for three falls and a star making performance. The falls protected Eaton in defeat with a count out loss and Flair cheating at the final hurdle. This was good because it? s these two but it just fails to deliver to expectations. ***1/4"

[10.0] "Watching this for the first time in honor of the great, late Bobby Eaton. Eaton impresses from the start, he slaps the taste out of Flair? s mouth! Eaton always had a beautiful punch, could watch it all day. It? s incredible, when they go back and forth you could swear Eaton is clocking the hell out of Flair, but his opponents always says he was actually light as a feather, what a legend. Eaton could work a great ground game, just watch him roll Flair around the ring effortlessly in that short arm scissors. And his backbreakers! Absolutely devastating. Eaton was just too damn good. PERFECT Alabama Jam gives him the first fall! Eaton wants to hit it again but Flair bumps the ropes and Eaton takes a very big bump all the way down to the floor. Countout seals up the second fall to tie it up. Some folks say rushed and I guess but really I just see a well paced match, and I? m all about that. Eaton makes a courageous effort in the third fall but he? s too far behind, and Flair beats him in the Figure 4 while pulling on the ropes."

[7.0] "You can tell the match was a bit rushed due to them having very little time left, but in my opinion they made the most of the time they got and worked the 2/3 falls stip pretty well still. Flair kept getting more and more cocky during the first fall, which ultimately allowed Bobby to make the comeback and win with the Alabama Jam. However, Bobby fell off the top rope and hurt his knee when going for a second Alabama Jam, which got him counted out and then turned out to cause his defeat in the final fall as well. Could it have been better? Of course it could, especially considering Flair was visually not motivated in his final days with WCW, but it still told a good story with some solid psychology. [***1/2]"

[8.0] "Bobby Eaton is so great. Flair is great too, but it was good to see Bobby in this spot, a spot he got way to few times. One of the best working punches you'll ever see. He's a babyface in this, which works, but he was always a better heel. All 3 falls make sense. If you love Midnight Express matches and Ric Flair world title matches, this is for you. ****"
