[8.0] "I thought it was an excellent match. They got plenty of time to tell a story and it was really fun to watch. Give a lot of credit to Iyo Sky and Charlotte Flair hitting those impressive moves off the top. Those moves are not easy to do, but Sky's spot with the trash can was very creative while Flair did a great job with her moonsault. That moment with Flair and Lynch hugging was cool because there were questions about if they would be able to work together, so having that spot in the match was a smart thing to do. Bayley kept on making the save for her teammates throughout the match, but in the end it was Bayley getting pinned. That could led to Bayley getting kicked out of the group she created just because of the changes in the group. I don't know for sure, but I think it's a possibility. Lynch getting the win for her team is similar to last year when Lynch won for the babyface team a year ago as well. Overall, I really enjoyed it with the weapons being used throughout the match, some highspots that really worked and an ending that made the fans happy."
[10.0] "This was a banger of a match. These ladies were absolutely killing it. IYO's signature trashcan moonsault is awesome to see. Overall, this was a very fun WarGames match to watch."
[8.0] "A lot of fun. I'm not the biggest fan of the WarGames format but this one was pretty entertaining throughout. Obviously, Iyo Sky jumping off the cage with a trash can on her head was the most memorable moment, but Charlotte's moonsault off the cage was also insane. Very fun. (8.5/10)"
[7.0] "I'm always against a multi women matches, simply because they're mostly bad and sloppy and filled with botches. This had that too but definitely wasn't bad. All women put everything they had on the line especially Shortzi. She's just nuts. Fun opener and good effort from the women in this match."
[9.0] "Just finished watching this match. It's got so many spots. And all of them were performed clinically without many errors. Really loved the teams. Maybe result should have gone with the Damage Ctrl team but nonetheless all stars showed their abilities. What a time it was when TKO wasn't in full flow."
[8.0] "[3.75*] This was my favorite match of the night. This match was completely amazing and made me stay on the edge of my seat. Iyos and Charlottes jumps off the cage were just crazy and my only issue was the ending that I did not like and disagreed with the result."
[9.0] "What an incredible match with tons of memorable moments and performances by some of these women. IYO stole the show by not only her dive off her top with the trash can but also taking other wild looking bumps like the Powerbomb into the cage earlier on. Charlotte's Moonsault from the top was insane as well, but my personal favorite spot of the match was when Asuka went to mist Schotzi a second time, only to get the fire extinguisher spray to the face instead. Solid 4.5 stars."
[10.0] "***** (10/10) A Women's Pro-Wrestling fight that I would undoubtedly have rated beyond the five-star mark. Everybody shined. Everybody! I must confess that I had not returned to the WWE universe till Summer of 2023. This show was my introduction to the War-Games legacy. For all I know the previous editions of War-Games of may be of a higher caliber, but once Bayley went thru the table, I was convinced that I was watching one of the great Women's Professional Wrestling matches that these eyes have ever seen. I actually thought that after the Genius of the Sky flew from the top of the cage inside a trashcan. Classic."
[10.0] "Iyo jumped with a trash can on her head, which was the highlight of the match. The other parts of the match were fun too, but that was probably the most memorable and fun part of this match. All in all there was decent action throughout with Damage CTRL losing."
[10.0] "This was such a fantastic WarGames match and definitely one of the better womens WarGames matches in a good long while, all women put on a show here with some really amazing action and spots and it furthered the story of the Bayley soon to be broken off from Damage CTRL."
[8.0] "Very good match, it was enjoyable basically the whole time, this new Damage CTRL have a lot of star power. I loved the spots and their performances, just the ending and the winner that didn't made me happy. Still the best match of the event for me - {***3/4}"
[7.0] "It seems like the girls can really put on a good match, but this one was very mixed, despite some really cool moments in the match. There was also that classic female curvature, don't think I'm a misogynist, but in my opinion they've never been able to do everything perfectly. But in general, the match was not bad and you can watch it for sure"
[6.0] "I fucking hate the War Games concept almost as much as I hate the Iron Man match. There are no innovations. Every match is formulaic. It lasts 30+ minutes but the first 20 are completely filler because the match can't end, so the advantages don't really matter. The action is fine in this but I really hate the format. ***."
[6.0] "A blast of match of a match. There's plenty to nitpick, sure, but the biggest complaint I have is that the wrong team won. It felt like another cheap attempt to pop the crowd with a babyface win, but they should've had more face in the eight ladies involved to deliver some big moments, because they did. 3.25 Stars."
[8.0] "Good WarGames match (is a bad one even possible? ) but Damage CTRL probably should have won. Their 2 years of losing to Bianca was a wild time, I was fine with it when she was champion but this was just one point where they would have benefitted a lot from a victory."
[10.0] "One of my favorite Womens war games Match. I do have some problems with this match though. Damage CTRL just got Asuka and Kairi and have dominated and attacked people for weeks. but they Loose this match. That was kinda annoying. The story between Becky and Flair gave it more depth."
[8.0] "[8.8] I'm in the minority here when I say that this is the MOTN. Iyo finally got to repeat her trash can spot in all of its glory in front of a live crowd. Bayley was the MVP of the match taking nearly half a dozen saves and attacks in the span of a minute which was a great sequence."
[8.0] "Just like last year, the story for the women was built on short notice; that is why there wasn't enough substance in the emotions. Action-wise, there weren't any creative moves, but the fundamentals weren't missed either (lineage of weapons, Iyo's trash can splash, and a babyface woman's dive from the top of the cage). The main spotlight was around the co-existence of Becky & Charlotte, and even though the reunion looked a bit artificial, I am glad that they amended their issues and regained respect. Surprisingly, Shotzi had a better performance than her last string of matches as she was able to be in her element of wackiness and hide her rustic groove. 4 out of 5 stars!"
[6.0] "Solid, but kind of tame for a wargames match. You get pretty much what you expect from a modern WWE gimmick match - disjointed, spotty, goes on too long, no one is doing anything amazing but no one is any worse than mediocre. The Io Skye garbage can spot is great. Men's match is better but has most of the same problems, but fewer botches and more believable weapon spots and storytelling - plus Orton return and a better finish."
[3.0] "Wow. Is this really all the WWE women's division has to offer? I honestly can't believe the ratings this has gotten. Feel like I was watching a completely different match! All I saw were some sluggish, half-assed maneuvers, overly-cautious "big spots" and some lightweight "extreme" "action" with "weapons". Absolutely nothing at all engaged me here, and the points I did give it were simply for those "big spots" just because, well, at least they tried. Plus, like all the other matches on the card (aside, partially, from the main event), there was zero reason for the dual-ring gimmick! There was zero flow or pacing, everyone seemed like they just wanted to get their spots over with and get out, and the ending was absolutely dire and summed the whole thing up. Half-assed and braindead in terms of creativity. By the way, the women's Elimination Chamber match from 2023 was one of my absolute favorites from WWE or any company this year. This hack-fest doesn't even deserve to be in its shadow!"
[5.0] "I think it was alright match but nothing special. Weapons used where weak, there was some cool spots with IYO but overall little bit to chaotic and clumsy. Wrong team won, no real reson to not go with Damage cntrl over, especially with Bayley sacraficing herself"
[7.0] "It's hard to describe this match. It's not bad - it's good for what it was actually. But I couldn't shake the feeling that this didn't really need to be a WarGames match. There were some bright spots like Iyo using a chain to pull a trash can up the cage and Asuka playing the crowd with the kendo sticks before finally giving them the table they were clamoring for. But besides that, it just felt like a spotfest with no real story to hold it together. No, simply mentioning past history does not equal good storytelling. Also there were quite a few awkward spots which really made this look sloppy. Kairi in particular seemed slightly off, probably still getting used to the WWE style again. The winner was also questionable. This current iteration of Damage Control literally just came together and they already lost their first match together."
[9.0] "An excellent war games match, which I liked much more than the men's match that took place in the main event of the evening. The match had a wonderful booking: Bayley was the real MVP of this match, acted very selflessly, covered for her partners, but no matter how good she was, in the end she was one against four, and naturally was retained. We also finally saw Becky and Charlotte forgive each other, and Shotzi finally got her big moment on the main roster. Its great that even Dakota Kai, despite her injury, tried to take part in the match. Her way of giving Iyo the trash can was very creative and memorable. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was Kairi. I've been a huge fan of her since her Stardom days to her first WWE run, and I was glad to see her back. But as the year progressed, she began to work more safely in the ring to avoid injury, I believe. Over the past couple of years, she has performed part time in stardom. And, unfortunately, in such an epic match she felt lost. But despite this, I really liked the match. ****1/4"
[7.0] "Good match that furthered the dissention between Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL, and portrayed Bayley as more of a credible threat than she has looked for a while. On the babyface side, the call back to Becky and Charlotte's previous issues was a welcome reminder of WWE's renewed focus on longer term storytelling under Triple H, and the result presented a number of potential title challengers to Iyo Sky over the coming months. One complaint would be the use of Dakota Kai - considering that weapons were introduced by participants on their way to the wrong, her involvement in adding kendo sticks and trash cans felt redundant."
[8.0] "The main problem I have with WarGames is that basically everything is invented and there are little things you can do to make the WarGames look unique. That's why I think they should leave the stipulation for a feud that truly justifies needing two rings and a large cage, something with more at stake, something with more hatred involved. That being said, these women killed it and they gave a pretty good performance. Maybe Asuka and Bianca were the worst of the match, as the former went last and barely had any relevant action besides spraying the mist and receiving the fire extinguisher attack, and the latter didn't live up to the protagonism they gave her. The whole story focus was put on Charlotte and Becky coexisting, and the two faceoffs they had were poorly executed. The first one made them look stupid, focusing on themselves instead of their opponents, and the second one with the hug was so forced and overacted. I would've saved that for the post-match. Shotzi pleasently surprised me here. She is very irregular, most of the time she puts lame performances, but she was in her element here and it was one of the times her crazy gimmick fit well and wasn't pure cringe. Io and Kairi were spectacular, putting some good spots and offensives. Those backfist shots with the trash can lid were stiff as hell, so cool. But the MVP of the match is someone I've been so critical with, and that's Bayley. The storytelling, the action, the leadership, all went through her. She carried the match, she was the glue that sticked all the pieces together, and she was the one to make the Damage CTRL storyline going forward, saving Kairi, but at the cost of losing the match. That's the point were they're going to book his Face turn, and after watching this I'm picking her as one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble. She did great here. Pretty good WarGames, but the stipulation was bigger than their feud. The traditional Elimination match could've worked the same, or even better. (****)"
[9.0] "an absolute blast from beginning to end. everyone in this match does a great job, but my god iyo sky was so much fun to watch tonight. that spot with the trash can (you know the one) made me yell so loud that i thought the night had already peaked (it didn't)."
[5.0] "This was straight up bad until everyone got into the cage with lots of sloppiness and poor dynamics in regards to how the teams were presented. It was just fine afterwards with a few memorable spots, but far too sanitized for what I want out of a war games match."
[6.0] "I personally preferred this over the mens match, i like how the match lasted a bit longer once it officially started. Definitely some minor botches here and there. At one point you could very clearly see shotzi telling someone to move closer. Not a technical masterpiece or anything but I enjoyed it. Rating: ***1/4"
[6.0] "In the minority here, but this did not land with me. It was perfectly fine, but on too many occasions the work was too visible. Shotzi was a particular offender, but also that spot with Iyo Sky and the bin off the top of the cage was spectacle over sense. Generally, enjoy all the wrestlers in this match (Shotzi no so much), but this match was just not very well put together."
[8.0] "This was such a fun match. This had some fun spots and some elements of storytelling like when Becky and Charlotte hugged and are now friends again. However, Im a little bit disappointed that Damage CTRL didnt turn on Bayley leading to a face turn, but thatll probably happen on Smackdown."
[5.0] "Whilst there were some good spots in the match and the action was generally solid enough it focused more around storytelling and weaving in some of the interpersonal issues between the wrestlers. In that regard it did well but the fact this match didn't carry any real intrigue given the bad booking of Damage CTRL to this point meant the lack of major in-ring excitement left this dragging."
[7.0] "The story was the hero of this match: Bayley's loyalty and her place in Damage Cntrl, it was that story that stood out in this match. The action was good for most part but there was a lot of waiting around, a lot of set ups. Bayley is the big MVP here, Iyo might have done the spectacular spots but it was Bayley that kept the match together, that started for her team and was a part of the ending as well. Good but it dragged a little. ***3/4"
[9.0] "I loved every second of this match. Becky Lynch set the tone early with an entrance that had my friends and I marking out. From there, the action was fantastic, with Bayley being the MVP of the match. Not only in the story elements, but in being in the perfect place at the perfect time. That includes saving Kairi Sane from a disastrous landing. The moments between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair were also excellent, as was Flair's mesmerizing Moonsault. And, per usual, Iyo Sky proved why she is the Queen of War Games. Throw in some stellar moments from Asuka, Bianca Belair, and Shotzi, who really impressed me, and this was a truly incredible War Games match. 4.5 stars, 9 out of 10."
[8.0] "This year, I do think this was a better match than the Men's WarGames at the end of the show. This did have some sloppier spots, but I think it was just better at being a WarGames Match as a whole. Aside from said spots, this was really good and definitely something I'd give an 8.5/10 (AKA 4.25). I will say that I was hoping Damage CTRL would get the win considering how much I love the current lineup, but I also understand that them losing is, most likely, leading to Bayley being kicked out of the group."
[9.0] "Great match, had some really good spots with the moonsault and trash can jump from the top of the cage. Loved how bayley was breaking every pin and helping her teammates however in the end she was the one that got pinned, really good story work."
[9.0] "A great match from WWE that only really suffered from being slightly too long (and the flab was because of the timed entrances so I'm not sure what they can do about that). This War Games epic boasted star power, a nuclear hot crowd, big bumps and a fantastic performance, within and without kayfabe, from Bayley (who was in the entirety of this 33min+ match). Her timing was exquisite throughout this match with her breaking pins and sacrificing herself in an impactful and completely organic manner. Will the rest of Damage CTRL remember her MVP performance? Or just the fact she took the pin? It says a lot about the quality of this match, and its production, that that's now an incredibly important question. Great stuff."
[8.0] "Me giving this a high rating is kind of crazy because this had a lot of convoluted spots, but they at least did enough crazy stuff to make up for it. Iyo's moonsault off the top, Kairi's elbow off the top, and Charlotte's moonsault were the main high spots in this. The Babyfaces having the advantage was dumb tho because it then led to a heel coming in to save their teammate from big pops. Bayley worked her ass off in this, and her saving all of her teammates from taking the loss, but ending up having to take the pin was a good finish to this even though the new heel group winning probably would've been better.****"
[6.0] "Iyo's jump from the top with the dustbin was definitely the best moment of the match for me & I enjoyed Charlotte's moonsault from the top of the cage, but a lack of strong storytelling let me down the most. Overall while I personally didn't enjoy the match, it was great for getting the live crowd hyped."
[6.0] "Fun match, despite some really sloppy set-ups that didn't even try to hide how choreographed they were. A lot of the story they were trying to tell (Bayley desperately saving her teammates only to cost them the match) was at odds with presenting Damage CTRL as a dominant heel faction. I don't know, psychologically this felt off, but as a pure spectacle, it's hard to argue with it being a fun match, if a bit sanitized given all the weapons involved. Iyo in the trash can was obviously the highlight. Could've been more for sure."
[7.0] "Iyo's jump from the top with the dustbin was the highlight of this match. Bayley took a few shots on behalf of her team. The flow of this match could have been better and the wrong team won the match. Asuka trying to use the mist only to have a fire extinguisher used on her was amazing."
[8.0] "Despite being hamstrung by the faces having the one-woman advantage (and repeatedly failing to take advantage of it), this was pretty damn good. I didn't notice the obvious collaboration others have whinged about - by far the biggest cringe for me was that awkward af Becky-Charlotte pep hug. The crowd's preoccupation with furniture did heavily telegraph the finish, but it was still well executed ***3/4"
[7.0] "As far as wargames matches go, I thought it was pretty average. I didn't like the finish at all, why is damage ctrl losing again? They always lose when it matters but we're supposed to buy them as a threat, and this was them with Asuka and a returning Kairi who should have been made to look strong in her first PPV appearance back. Instead she just sat in the corner while everyone did their finisher on Bayley. This is the issue with some wargames matches, alot of it looks choreographed and contrived. On charlottes moonsault, why did Asuka and Iyo fall down when she didn't even make contact with them? In general these spots where a bunch of wrestlers just stand waiting for someone to jump on them are one of the worst things about modern wrestling. There's alot of instances in these matches where a wrestler will just stand there waiting for another to do their move without showing any struggle."
[7.0] "7.5 - The difficulty with matches like this are the awkward mistimings and the miscommunications, but as long as no one looks too stupid it's fine. There was one really bad moment, with Io running around Becky to shove her into Charlotte, horrendous mistake. Otherwise though this ended up being packed with decent to great action. Io's dive was amazing, Charlotte nearly killed Io on hers."
[6.0] "An entertaining match with some sloppy spots. Never been a fan of kendo sticks that look like toys and garbage cans that look like they're made of aluminum foil. Those visuals make it a little harder to allow me to suspend disbelief and get into the idea that I'm watching a violent fight. Worth a watch for the high spots (Io's trash can dive and Charlotte's moonsault) and a hot crowd, especially if you're a fan of any of the competitors. Rather than focusing on the whole of the work and in-ring storytelling, this was kind of a typical WWE "Creating moments" type of match. Fine, but won't go down in history."
[5.0] "I really dont understand why this match is rated so highly. The only real highlight of match for me is Ios dive from the top other than that this match is extremely average. First of all i really feel like War Games matches should be this long i mean it just dragged on and on plus the thing that kills the pace of the match even more is everybody getting weapons form under the ring before they enter it took Shotzi 2 minutes from when she was let out of the cage to enter the ring. The match also felt like it was put together on the fly and they were just riffing in the ring until everybody was in and they look really lost at some points. Also i feel like this feud isnt really worthy to be a War Games match i think if they made this a traditional Survivor Series match it would have benefited them a lot more and it would add more diversity to the card because you really dont need 2 War Games matches on the same card but i digress **1/4 - **1/2 for me."
[6.0] "It was a stupid kind of fun match. Iyo's trashcan spot was a highlight. But it was also very poorly coordinated and had many botches. Most everything prior to all eight being in the ring(s) is awkward and lacks flow. The match as a whole doesn't click for me and is too sloppy."
[8.0] "Watching this live was a blast. The crowd was hungry for tables and the reactions got louder and louder as each entrant teased pulling out a table from under the ring. By the time Asuka finally grabbed a table, the place went nuts. It was a fun match -- Iyo Sky's trash can dive and Charlotte's moonsault from the top of the cage were the biggest highlights. ****"
[8.0] "Just like last year, the women's War Games match was (much) better than the men's despite the slightly lower rating on this site both times. IYO did her trash can crossbody spot and Charlotte did a moonsault from the top of the cage. Bayley taking the pin (after saving all her teammates) will probably lead to the joshi ousting her from Damage CTRL?"
