[8.0] "This feud doesn't get talked about enough imo. One of my favorite versions of Taker, 50 years old and taking hard suplexes and announce table bumps, still in good enough physical shape for a great match, plus kicking people in the balls and getting cheered for it. Like JBL says, he's the old gunslinger saddling up and going out swinging. Brock always jumps to the heavens for Taker's chokeslams and I pop for it every single time. I get not liking the finish but the fake tap and nut shot are (to me) Taker realizing the old tools aren't gonna beat Lesnar so it's time to bust out whatever might work to get the win. And it led to their Cell match which I also love."

[8.0] "[7, 5/10] -This was a brutal, intense fight not a match, a war. Way better than their WrestleMania bout, this had real urgency, real heat, and a chaotic energy from start to finish. Both Lesnar and Taker looked vicious, and the crowd was locked in. The finish was controversial, but honestly? It fit the story perfectly. Taker laughing in Lesnar's face is one of the coldest visuals in WWE history. Underrated gem that deserves way more love."

[8.0] "For Taker to be able to go toe-to-toe with Brock and have such a great physical match at fifty years of age is simply remarkable. A great brawl with some iconic moments like that sit up moment with Brock laughing and Taker responding by laughing like a madman, the middle finger before passing out. Unfortunately, it gets a bit tarnished by one of the most confusing booking decisions ever, making Taker tap out only for him to win this way. Sure it protected Brock, but it also tarnished Taker's aura in the process. Still a highly enjoyable match. ****"

[8.0] "Wow, this was way better than I remembered it being. It felt like a big fight from the get go, and both Brock and Taker brought the intensity to match. They hit each other with their big moves and threw some big bombs as the crowd ate up everything they did. There was perhaps one kickout too many during the finishing stretch, but the match never entered absurd territory as they big WWE main events sometimes have a tendency to do, especially ones involving Brock Lesnar during this period of time. Yes, the finish was definitely awkward and didn't make much sense. It is a good example of how WWE would benefit from just letting their top stars lose clean more often. Brock doing the job here wouldn't have hurt him at all, and you could still have had Taker cheat without having to resort to overbooking the finish. I'd honestly go even higher on this if it weren't for said finish because the match leading up to that was really fun. It never had a dull moment and was a great redemption from Brock and Taker's dud at WM. Granted, if helps that Taker didn't suffer a concussion in this match, but still props to both for bringing it and delivering a main event befitting of two of WWE's biggest stars. ****"

[8.0] "Okay, the ending was a bit awkward and weird, but the rest of this match was kind of a banger. Undertaker looked much better in this match than he did at Mania 30, and Brock Lesnar was bringing it as usual. Great action, with Lesnar bleeding, and the crowd were super into this one. Great match, despite the wonky finish."

[3.0] "Ok this match was nothing close of being in the higher ranger but i was willing to give this a 4 or even 5 for being servicable and suprising me in how good it was. But what the fuck was that ending, I have never seen that happen where the bell is ringed for without the ref or something bad happening. It was made no sense, killed all tension that was steady built over the match and worst of all was obviously done to setup another match. This was the most obvious I have ever seen this occur. I will still give this a three because for all purposes it was actually a pretty well structured back, with the always delightful run in start where the guy with alot of hatred beats up the other guy before the match starts. And there's a frame in this where a popular Taker face comes from. This was almost a distance close from Punk vs Taker but this fell short sadly."

[6.0] "The most outstanding aspect of this match, in my opinion, is the revelation of the accuracy of Undertaker's words. Undertaker claimed that his attack on Brock Lesnar was not because Lesnar ended his WrestleMania winning streak. But because Lesnar never stopped Paul Heyman from talking about the end of Undertaker's winning streak. I have to interject with a side note: for Undertaker, the WrestleMania record is a myth, but not an unbeatable myth. For him, there are many people who could end his winning streak... So defeating Undertaker at WrestleMania is not a transcendent thing. From this point of view, our consideration of words - especially Undertaker's - may have to be more profound. So? Why did Undertaker tap out in this match and then use dirty tricks to ambush Lesnar? I personally think that what Undertaker said is indeed more likely than him lying, but in fact, here Undertaker is such a petty person, almost completely different from what he shows backstage (he is willing for others to end his WrestleMania record but... why is he unwilling to let others talk about it)? Of course, this is Undertaker's brief turn to heel plot, which indeed damaged Undertaker's sacred image."

[9.0] "Main event. Revenge of The Undertaker. It was because of this match that I decided to review this PPV for 8 years, because in my memory it was one of the best SummerSlam. Well... it turned out that the show wasn't as good as I remembered it, especially the first part of the show. But this duel, as well as the match between John and Seth, is still great. Perhaps it is thanks to them that I have such vivid memories of this evening. I remember 8 years ago I thought it was time for Taker to retire after losing Brock at WM, but now I understand that this loss motivated the dead man to make another decent run. The feud with Brock was, in retrospect, one of the best in Taker's late carter. In terms of quality, this match surpassed their last fight at WrestleMania many times over. Brock was in his prime, Taker also tried his best, and this simply cannot but command respect. A wonderful match from two masters of their craft. It was with this match that The Undertaker proved that he still has "gunpowder in the flasks" and that he can give us some more cool matches. ****1/2"

He and Lesnar put on a compelling slugfest. The trouble wasn't with Undertaker being past his primeit was WWE Creative not just letting the titans go at it. The screwy finish gutted the drama the wrestlers built. Clearly, the controversy was designed to lead to another showdown between them, which exceeded all expectations, but this was the wrong way to do it."

[8.0] "His last match at SummerSlam, and what a way to say goodbye to the PPV. Brock Lesnar may have ended "The Streak" at WrestleMania XXX, but that was far from the end of his story with the Undertaker. Now, the Deadman seeked revenge, and seemingly was going to do anything to achieve it. Those who remember the Taker suffering a concussion in 2014 were not very optimistic, and even though he made his return against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31, his performance was just passable. We didn't have the Taker of old. However, they didn't just exceed those expectations, they blew them away. It's like the Undertaker was embarrassed by the Wrestlemania match and decided to put on a career defining performance for the rematch. He was a killer, no filler here. It was a total blast, which played to Lesnar's strengths. The trash-talk was top notch. They attacked each other from the start, a real hit-fest in the first half of the fight and they built the tension very well for the second half. After landing some really hard blows on each other, they went on a rampage and it was very dramatic and entertaining until the end. That laugh sequence was hilarious, those amazing near falls were also key. The ending is still frustrating, even though we know what it was going to lead to. I would have preferred Taker to win because Lesnar falls unconscious in Hell's Gate, and you can have Brock and Heyman saying he didn't really lose because he didn't quit, and thus demand a rematch. While the ending drops the match a bit in the ratings, it is still an outstanding performance, especially when you consider Taker's age and physical condition."

I didn't like the finish as it felt weird for Taker to randomly low blow Lesnar after having never done something like that his whole career. The double sit-up spot was also weird but it was pretty funny at least."

[8.0] "Undertaker actually looking good in a match post-Wrestlemania 30 is the most shocking thing to me here. He doesn't look as beat up physically as he usually would, or tire out so quickly in this one. They went out and put out a compelling slugfest, while still playing into the story of Undertaker doing whatever he can do to take down Brock. They traded some near-falls with their finishers towards the end. I'm a bit torn on the ending because of the visual of Brock slowly passing away but giving Taker the middle finger makes for a great visual. ****1/4"

[9.0] "Despite regular stipulation, this was really epic match. Maybe it wasn't best technical match, but surely one of best, if not the best Lesnar' s match in 2010s and Undertaker' s last big battle in career. Action was thrilling from beginning. F5 on table, and best chokeslam ever looked really impressive. Of course, laughing spot was totally unexpected. All of their big moves were executed perfectly. Undertaker' s storytelling was incredible. Ending was bad, Taker needed to win cleanly, but it made a place to their Hell in A Cell match."

[9.0] "This felt as if Undertaker was embarrassed by the shambolic Wrestlemania match and decided to put in a career performance in the rematch. He's all killer, no filler here. This was a total bombfest, which played to Lesnar's strengths. The trash talk here was top-notch and shows that WWE can actually use dialogue within their matches without it coming off like a school play. That dueling sit-up spot was incredible. Brock has Undertaker in the Kimura and the bell randomly rings without Undertaker tapping out, causing mass confusion and outrage. The referee argues with the timekeeper as Undertaker hits a low blow and locks on the Hell's Gate. The image of Brock giving Undertaker the bird before finally passing out made for a hell of a final visual. The shady finish wasn't brilliant, but I can forgive them seeing as they were desperate to protect Brock's aura. This was a dramatic hoss fight and one of the few times where Undertaker actually comes off as cool as he thinks he is. If you would have told me a week ago that I'd prefer this match over their legendary 2002 Hell In A Cell, I'd call you crazy, but here we are."

[8.0] "Surprising main event between Lesnar and Undertaker in the positive sense of the word in my humble opinion because I didn't expect it to be so cool at all, their WrestleMania XXX match was mediocre so I didn't expected anything from this rematch but fortunately they decided to make up for their previous bad encounter and they did it in the best way. Of course it wasn't a classic or anything but it was a million times better than what they offered us a year earlier, the comparison is not even relevant as Undertaker was in much better shape and Lesnar seemed a hundred times more motivated. The ending leaves me confused but this image of Lesnar giving Taker a middle finger while doing in the Hell's Gate was absolutely fantastic, the fight (because yes it was a real fight) was just as great and the intensity was super high. I was really surprised by the way this match turned out because I didn't think it was going to be that good at all, they seemed vindictive because they themselves knew that their WM bout hadn't delivered and they decided to give the people the match they were expected to."

Brock ended Taker's legacy at Mania while Taker ruined Brock's chances of getting the title against Rollins, therefor this should have been a very intense match and it was. They attacked each other right away, a total strikefest in the first half of the bout and they build the tension very well for the 2nd part. After they landed some absolutely stiff strikes to each other they went all out & that was very dramatic and entertaining till the end. That laughing sequence was hilarious, those amazing nearfalls ruled too + that moment of Brock showing middle finger to Taker while being locked up in Hell's Gate was a tremendous storytelling moment. A brilliant match w/ a very nice Taker performance which wasn't expected, to be honest. ****"

The storytelling was on-point here as well, with Taker needing to pull out all the steps, including using heelish tactics, to be able to beat the stronger man in Lesnar. The crowd was great as expected, and I actually thought the commentary was great in that they played up the idea of Taker having nothing to lose now that he no longer had the Streak. I didn't like the controversial finish in all honesty, even though I could understand them trying to avoid doing another ref bump on the same show. Nonetheless, a vast improvement over WrestleMania 30. *** 3/4"

In terms of match quality I'd probably give it ***1/2 but in terms of psychology and story telling which I personally think is more important I'd give it ***** so my overall rating of this match would be ****1/2. I loved this match, I don't think I've smiled so much during a match in so long, these are two of my favorite wrestlers of all time and though the pace was slow at times I'd happily sit through this match again and again. There was some great spots in terms of moves such as the F5 through a table but there was also some amazing story telling spots like Taker breaking character to laugh at Brock, Brock being busted open, Brock telling Taker he's going to kill him and Taker telling him he'll have to not to mention the middle finger Brock gave Taker right before passing out, amazing stuff. I can understand some being angry at the ending but it really didn't bother me much as it made sense in terms of booking as Taker going over cleanly would be wrong and Brock winning would just destroy Takers reputation. A great match which I'd highly recommend if you're a fan of either men and love perfect story telling. My rating ****1/2"
