[9.0] "With the high rating here, and also the 4, 5 stars given by Meltzer, I had high expectations coming into this fight, and that didn't disappoint at all. Both ladies went completely all out, and the Arena Mexico was going wild in front of this crazy action. Jarochita and Isis gave everything they had, and that surely created an intense and fired-up action. Jarochita quickly took things at her advantage, but Isis certainly showed a great resilience all along the contest. All the nearfalls, the risks they both took, the atmosphere... Everything was on point. A Lucha de Apuestas is always a good rollercoaster ride in terms of drama and emotion. I read that Isis wasn't considered as an elite worker, but that was surely a breakout performance there. Don't mind about a botched spot, because in their misfortune, that added even more drama and heat to the fight. That was quite an explosive and intense bout to live, yeah."

It's been quite a while since I saw a luchadora match get this kind of hype and I definitely think these women more than earned it, as they put on one hell of a show here. Mask vs. Mask matches are almost always intense as hell and this was a great example, I can't say more than both women gave each other hell. My favorite bit of the match I think was the dive off the stage, CMLL has such an awesome stage for diving and I love when it gets used, and this one was a doozy. Just a real damn pleasure to watch."

[9.0] "I don't want to over analyze lucha psychology or pick apart the nature of "modern lucha" (helps if you know a damm thing about "classic lucha"). The keys here are the timing and the HEAT. This was the best match of CMLL's 2022 comeback run, from a division with no global hype. And you've got a packed Arena Mexico just living and dying with every move. I dug the Martinete, I don't care if the arm thing was a shoot or a work. And it tapped into that absolutely unrepeatable X-factor energy that only happens during Arena Mexico apuestas matches."

[6.0] "A good little match but nothing much more. It had all the usual modern lucha issues of limited selling and overly choreographed/cooperative interactions, meaning a lot of their fundamentals looked quite sloppy or amateurish at times, but let's be honest -- the real appeal of this match is all the aerial stunts and other big moves, and most of those looked quite nice. It's a shame they did away with them for the 2nd half. Isis played a decent heel with how aggressive and impactful she was, while Jarochita was a decently fiery babyface who showed good passion when on the receiving end of a beating or when in the process of staging a comeback. Their pin-attempts for most of the 2nd half were never that exciting because they never felt properly earned and were never really treated by either of the wrestlers as truly convincing, but at least the crowd seemed to bite quite loudly on them (if I can try to listen past all the fake crowd noise CMLL clearly piped in, that is). I will say that their submission attempts always felt far more convincing, just because they lasted long enough that a verbal submission from the recipient felt more likely, and their final few pin-attempts definitely felt more convincing than the earlier ones because it felt like they'd indeed finally dished out enough offence to make a follow-up pin more believable. I wish the match didn't become so overkill with big moves and near falls one after the other for the final few minutes, since that seriously ruined the finish, especially since Jarochita took a massive amount of offence from Isis, but then at the very end she just suddenly... jumped up, hit a running boot in the corner, and got the win. That felt easy as for her, despite her taking all this damage that should have made even kicking out of Isis' pin-attempts almost entirely physically draining, yet she just superwoman-ed her way to a victory out of literal nowhere, making for a super disappointing finish. A shame, since a lot of the rest of the match was pretty good. I won't hold it against the match or the wrestlers too heavily, though, since this *is* modern lucha, after all. ***1/4"

[10.0] "The best women? s match in CMLL and lucha libre in ages. The people were really behind the sensual Isis (mostly because of that fact). Started really hard with Jorochita beating her up, and then just exchanging really aggressive moves that you never get to see to women outside Stardom. After they got over the big bumps, they exchanged (maybe too many) near falls in the middle of the match (a moment I think is not the best for them) and the people started to slow down on their enthusiasm a little bit, but still noticeable. Following that, the match reached its peak and it was really good, and even with a botched top rope armdrag from Isis that left her injured, the martinete spot was so great, the Arena was going to fall, but Jarochita kiched out. The final I think was a little bit rushed, because Jarochita didn? t even took time to recover, but it also made it more surprising, nobody expected that result, at least in the attendance. The Esto es Lucha chant was present, something that never happens at Arena Mexico, and twice, so it was truly special. MOTYC in Mexico and in all Women? s wrestling. Overall the best match, at least live."

[9.0] "In terms of heat and crowd reaction this was the women's match of the year. My god these two worked so hard out of their minds trying to give the best match they could despite the "lower skill level." The early tope suicida to the floor by Jarochita got the match off hot and then built well into Isis possibly winning. Must watch stuff."

[7.0] "Pretty much THE Reyna Isis match. Both women were on fire, but the bigger story ended up being on Reyna's side - she used to be awful in the ring. Here, she brought the fire. Jarochita was also very good and mixed up well with her opponent. This match ended up getting ESO ES LUCHA chants, which tells you that there were hardcore fans at Arena Mexico for once, and they really liked what they saw. There were plenty of near-falls (perhaps too many depending on who you ask) and the crowd ate them all up. The finish was...a bit abrupt due to Isis injuring her elbow. Nonetheless, this is a must-see match for anyone that wants to have hope in CMLL's Amazonas division."
