Dustin Rhodes vs. Ricky Steamboat

[8.0] "Not as good as their match the previous week but still an excellent TV match between two legendary workers. The frustration burning a hole in this face vs. face match was presented very well."

[7.0] "Dustin was not happy with the way he won the belt last week, so he issued a rematch to Steamboat for the title. They started this like how they did in their previous encounter, taking it to the mat for some good ol' wrestling. Tempers flared as both men became increasingly frustrated with each other. Those clean and crispy exchanges we saw in the beginning were all but tense face-offs and hateful slaps. They crammed a bunch of nearfalls in the final minutes before television time expired, as both guys continued to fight to the show's ending. It's not often that you see a face v. face bout booked this well, which is why it is unfortunate this didn't get a full main event timeslot. [***1/4]"

[6.0] "Very solid match between two babyfaces. I like the sense of rising tensions throughout the match. Everything is executed very well, but it's disappointing that the rug is pulled out from under the wrestlers with the time limit draw when TV time expires. At least the bell actually rings and it's declared a draw instead of the show just ending while the match is still in progress as WCW has done previously, so it's an easier pill to swallow here than similar instances on prior shows, but it's still a shame to see a match that was building nicely end this way."

[6.0] "Enjoyable replay of their last match due to the interference by Barry. Ricky Steamboat is a great worker and Dustin is more than capable. It shows."

[6.0] "Best match on the show, and not surprising that it got the most time too. Left you wanting more at the end."

[7.0] "Terrific follow up to their tournament final match last week. Steamboat is a bit peeved after being screwed by Barry Windham last week, distrusting Dustin in the process. Their tempers flare big time with intense slaps, words exchanged and pissy exchanges constantly. The TV time runs out before the match can be concluded. Give me more of this. ***1/4"

[6.0] "Match is just that, satisfactory. Steamboat is great of course and Dustin has always been good to great himself. Not a fan of this time limit draw but it's whatever."

[5.0] "The story here is that Dustin previously beat Steamboat after Windham attacked Steamboat behind Rhodes is back. Rhodes was not happy with winning that way which leads to this rematch. Lots of basic mat wrestling to start since it is a face vs. face match. Steamboat gets frustrated though and things begin to pick up when both guys start getting more aggressive. Time eventually runs out and both friends continue to battle after the bell. 2.5 stars"
