Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart vs. Brian Knobbs & Jerry Sags

[6.0] "Crowd was surprisingly into big ol Jim here which helped, the match was technically sound and had a good narrative AND a hot corwd but still felt a tad souless, good finishing stretch though. **3/4"

[5.0] "Another good tag team match similar to the opener. The finish was creative with the Nasty Boys winning which was the right decision due to how popular Bret was getting."

[6.0] "Not bad actually, even though It started down for me, It got up to the end, with The Hart Foundation trying to the end but The Nasty Boys getting the win at last, and the crowd was great through the whole match, 6/10 [***1/2]"

[4.0] "There's too many god damn rest holds in this match. Started off well enough, but slowed down significantly once Nasty Boys took control. Its by the numbers tag match that nobody would ever rewatch again."

[6.0] "Yeah a perfectly serviceable tag match. Nasty Boys played their stooge roles admirably, a few too many chin locks for my liking but watching Bret break out of them was always entertaining. Crowd were consistently hot for this too. Finish was not for me."

[7.0] "Starts off really good, the Hart's offense got the crowd fired up, and the nasty boys bumped crazy for it. Hits a bit of a lull in the middle, but still a good match."

[7.0] "Fuelled by an electric atmosphere, this takes a standard outline to the finish line, leaning heavily on Bret Hart along the way. ***1/2"

[6.0] "[2.75*] Every time the Hart Foundation was on top, the match ruled. Every time the Nasty Boys were on top, the match was boring. I found their control segments repetitive and lazy, it was always the same thing and it wasn't drawing good heat. Fortunately, the Harts were very over so the crowd was always there for their hot tags. The ending stretch was pretty hot too with the Neidhart tag that the referee didn't see and the Nasty's friendly-fire. The heels won after the referee screwed the faces."

[7.0] "It's a good match because of the carry job by the Hart Foundation. I appreciate the niche the Nasty Boys fit into but they were always sloppy."

[6.0] "Good showcase mainly about how much badass The Hart Foundation were at that time. Nasty Boys fulfilled their role really well."

[5.0] "A good tag team match that couldn't reach the level of the great opener, but still managed to entertain and provide a good watch. The Harts are just always great to experience and they got a good bout out of The Nasty Boys."

[4.0] "When the nasty boys were in control it was very repetitive with going to the chinlock the same way so often. At least do a different hold of that's not a finishing hold. The multiple times Neidhart came in were a little annoying outside of the missed tag. Not a fan of the finish or this match in general."

[4.0] "Suppose it was as good as a nasty boys match as you could get - with Bret and Jim the Anvil doing most of the work obviously but the crowd played their part in making this match at least somewhat watchable so overall i say a four is a fair score to be honest"

[5.0] "This match was what it was, bret looks pretty good here tho he has to indure a never ending stream of chinlocks, i liked the start of the match and the fnish was nice with the megaphone being a fake out only for them to use the helmet to get the win but the midell of this match was not alot of fun at all, all good now bret is free to go it alone"

[7.0] "The titles need to come off the Foundation here so Bret can go off on his singles push, so Nasty Boys are chosen as the next champions here. The Nasties are really hit and miss, usually miss, but every once in a while they pulled out a gem, and this is one of those (mainly thanks to Bret). Their choatic brawling works really well against guys who know how to deal with it and how to sell for them. All four guys work hard to put on a good match. The crowd loved Bret here and the Nasties did a good job of heeling it up to them."

[6.0] "This was probably the best Nasty Boys match of all time, which puts it just slightly above average. The Hart Foundation tried for a good match, but they're just not very interesting."

[7.0] "***1/2 (7/10) The tag team championship bout was excellent, up until the very ending. The finish was not horrible, but a cheap finish is never of substance unless it is done cleverly, and this was about as generic as any interference win. Although, there are reasons for the match's ending being booked to such degree. You're protecting the defeated while building heat for the victorious, among other reasons, but it's slightly disappointing that the way the match was going, which was crowd heavy and on pace to becoming an instant classics, was cut short for commercial purpose."

[8.0] "The Nasty Boys are a guilty pleasure for me. They're so messy and reckless, but it's part of who they are. This or the Road Warriors may be their best WWF match, but I'm leaning to this one, where The Nasty Boys win their tag titles."

[8.0] "One of the Last foundation matches as Bret is simply too over and good to not break through and go for the title, Very good match here, for 12 minutes they tore the house down! (***3/4)"

[7.0] "This was some good tag team action and the crowd was really into the match. The Nasty's slowed it down a bit in the heat but they didn't lose the crowd in the process and the match ended up being a good way for The Hart Foundation to bow out"

[6.0] "The Nasty Boys aren't great, but they didn't have a bad showing here. I think they worked as cowardly, underhanded brawlers, and it provided a different style of opponent to what we'd often see for the Hart Foundation. There was some decent chaos towards the end of the match that kept you guessing as to who might win and made for an effective finishing stretch. Definitely not as good as the opening tag match in my view, but this was still solid."

[4.0] "An average tag match, both teams work decently with eachother and it would work as Bret's jump to stardom. The in ring quality was decent, with some very interesting transitions and some very fun tag team wrestling, but it is not anything to write home about."

[6.0] "The match was okay, good tag psychology, and it as clear from this match that Bret was going to go on to be a top star. Everyone did their jobs, Nasty boys were a typical heel team and they were fine but *** overall"

[4.0] "I was genuinely THIS close to giving this match 3 points instead of 4. The only reason I didn't is because Bret is a general as usual, and I thought Anvil had some good offense after the hot tag. But this match genuinely sucked. I will also say...I cannot stand the Nasty Boys. I want to ask anyone...what is there to enjoy about them? They have a stupid gimmick and there's not a single thing unique about their offense or how they work besides the ridiculous armpit spot which they didn't even do in this match, thankfully. Seriously, if you replaced the Nasty Boys in this match with ANY other team that existed, you could have had the EXACT same match. The Hart Foundation could have called this same match with two guys they pulled out of the front row of ringside because there's not one thing interesting or unique the Nasty Boys do. The match does have some hot moments, but other than those very few moments, this is about as generic a tag team match as you can get, right down to the tired out megaphone finish. And the rest holds. Rest holds HAVE to take up close to half the runtime of this match. This could very well be the worst match the Hart Foundation ever worked. The only solace I take is that Bret could FINALLY go on to have a singles run after dropping the titles here."

[5.0] "Oh, people actually like this match? I didn't think this was all too good but I'm giving this a 5 instead of a 4 for Bret carrying this match. This is very dull. I do not like the Nasty Boys and this is a far cry from them facing the Steiner Brothers. This match was so basic and dull I literally can't recall a specific spot to put over or under here. At this point, I was actually looking forward to Bret being fully on his own; the Foundation ruled but we're slowly approaching when the tag division starts to feel less important."

[7.0] "Another very good match on this WrestleMania with the absolutely phenomenal finish. The Nasties aren't the best on being in control but they were decent enough to make The Harts' comebacks look beautiful. They executed the finishing sequence perfectly and everything looked so smooth there - everyone was in the right place along with the referee and nobody lost their track on what to do. Great job from both teams."

[4.0] "Not the worst but this was a very unspectacular tag to me, it didn't surpass my expectations that much. Decent but dull. **"

[9.0] "24/03/91 Wrestlemania VII WWF. What you get when you match two of the greatest tag teams of all time at Wrestlemania with two completely different styles. Nasty Boys always worked well with with tag teams that had more finesse and this match shows why. A classic fast paced entertaining and great worked match, that built up to a classic finish. Only let down was of all people, Bret Hart, who had the sponge of immortality to chase down Jimmy Hart after a massive beat down. 9* all the way to the bank."

[4.0] "This was incredibly dull on every level capped off by the most luke warm tag you have ever seen in your life."

[6.0] "Percectly solid if unspectacular tag match. Bret was in the ring for more or less the whole match and the Nasties didn't really do anything of interest but the tag psychology was there and made it watchable. Just fine. ***"

[6.0] "Another solid tag match. The Nasties cheat to win of course and this marks the end of the Hart Foundation as a tag team and Bret Hart moves onto bigger things. This was pretty much the end of Jim Neidharts career as a steady mid/upper mid card guy as he drifted in and out of companies for the next few years and was mostly just a roster filler in the Hart Foundation Stable in 97. By 1998 in WCW, he was getting squashed on Thunder by guys like Scott Norton."

[7.0] "Easily one of the best, if not the best straight up normal tag team match in the Nasties' career. The classic tag formula never not work as this was another case. Bret was by far the star of the whole match, selling the heat spot from the heels beautifully. A good swan song for the OG Hart Foundation run. [***1/2]"

[7.0] "There was no world in which I expected to enjoy this match as much as I did. Both tag teams stepped up on the grandest stage and delivered a high-quality match on an otherwise so-so card. The Hart Foundation are obviously legends for their ring work, but The Nasty Boys stepped up here. A really good match that's worth revisiting and rewatching."

[7.0] "In what was pretty much the end of the Hart Foundation's glorious run on top of the tag scene, this was a really good match to go out on. The heat spot on Bret was very good, with some nice psychology and selling over Bret's back to boot. The crowd loved Bret here and it was clearly time for him to move on to something bigger. Good stuff. [***1/2]"

[6.0] "You're not going to find anything fancy here, but this was a good match with a lot of heat. The Nasties aren't flashy at all but know how to brawl when they feel like it. Bret is Bret and Neidhart is brilliant when he's in the role of the hyped-up fresh man during the hot tag segments. After the referee is distracted with all the bodies in the ring, Knobbs nails Neidhart with Jimmy Hart's motorcycle helmet to steal the win and the tag titles. This would be the last time we would see the Bret and Neidhart team up for a while, as Bret is being groomed for a big singles run."

[6.0] "Pretty decent tag match here, probably the best match the Nasty Boys had in the WWF, showing the overall greatness of the Hart Foundation pairing in their last match for quite a few years. I wasn't expecting much and they over-delivered I think, so this was an all-round success I think."

[6.0] "I liked this a ton. Nasty Boys excelled in the chicken shit heel role with their mannerisms and cheating. Hart Foundation were clever to avoid a lot of that and stay in control. Good match. ***1/4"

[6.0] "Decent match, the Nasties really aren't very good but the Harts were very good by this time, and they deliver as much as they can. It was time for Bret to go solo, but I wish they'd found another team to pick up the pieces, there were lots of better options available."

[6.0] "I never liked the Nasty Boys, they took a lot of time doing their taunts and slowing down every match. Considering so many great matches of the Hart Foundations and better rivals, this is not going to remain as a match to remember. **3/4"
