Dan Spivey vs. Ricky Steamboat

[5.0] "This match was alright and better than some others on this card. The winner was clear from the promo before the match. I felt like this match lasted a tad bit longer than necessary, and I started to tire (and lose my interest) a bit. Not a bad match, but not something worth talking about. I suppose it serves its purpose for their tournament. 5/10"

[5.0] "This was a sensibly worked matchup of Steamboat's technique and agility versus Spivey's size and strength. Spivey seems to carry himself with a bit more confidence since the last time he was in WCW. However, while he has some moments of decent intensity, he doesn't do too much to impress, despite having a sustained period of control. Effective match with a logical story, but nothing all that exciting."

[4.0] "As with other tournament matches, winner was obvious. It is basically pushed talents against low to mid-carders to get us to the crunch matches later on. Dan Spivey is ok. Ricky works a decent match but story is quite obvious, i.e. smaller guy, larger guy, ultimately catches him by surprise and snags the win."
