If not him, there was so many other wrestlers that could have used a Rumble win. Why Brock. This was such a bad year for WWE and it was visible from the start of the year. Terrible but there were some good aspect in terms of the inn ring during the beginning and mid of the whole stretch."

[4.0] "This was a bad Rumble. Simple as that. The "returns" we got weren't anything special, and besides Bad Bunny and Drew McIntyre (if you count his entry as a return), none of them done anything after. And Brock winning is just really stupid. I understand why it happened but i cannot defend it, its a bad decision that happened to a bad match. The overall action was pretty lacking, it was filled with tag team slop and the most entertaining part of the match was Omos. Riddle's RKO to Drew was also stunning, but thats about as positive as it'll get. It wasn't good."

[0.0] "This is the worst thing I've ever seen in my entire wrestling viewing history. The Royal Rumble clearly showed that only two strong wrestlers exist, while the rest of the roster will never be able to rise above mid-card. I would characterize this Royal Rumble as "The Death of WWE." I really love Brock Lesnar and don't believe he's to blame for the storyline and the victory in this Rumble. The fault lies with McMahon and his lack of interest in wrestling at that time. Also, indirectly, Roman Reigns is to blame with his destructive championship reign. It was obvious they would give him the Universal Championship in addition to the WWE Championship, which would kill the intrigue and interest in WWE wrestling altogether. No interesting returns either. And Brock Lesnar eliminating Drew McIntyre was literally the destruction of what had been carefully and cleverly built in 2020. I never want to watch or remember what happened in this Rumble again. After that, WWE became unwatchable until WM40, and as for the interest, it was even worse until RR2025."

[1.0] "Well, although it isn't that disaster as Royal Rumble 2015 ones in terms of actual in ring work, which thanks to roster level is overall more talented, but it is still arguably second worst royal rumble match ever, Brock Hogan steam rolling and eliminating everyone in this match in the end is really frustating af, not to mention that AJ Styles elimination. This represents how much they gaf about the entire roster other than overpushing Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. [3/4*]"

MilkDDT wrote on 15.05.2025:
[5.0] "I don't think this Rumble is nearly as bad as a lot of people do. I was overall satisfied despite it having less upsides than the past couple Rumbles. I was a fan of Bad Bunny's performance and thought that was the highlight of the match, and also enjoyed Drew's return and the 'Omos vs everyone' portion of the rumble. I was not a fan of the somewhat random eliminations that benefitted nobody, the decision to have Brock go over, or Shane overshadowing current talent and taking up a final four spot. However, I think the moments I found enjoyable and the ones I did not can all be criticized or justified for legitimate reasons (maybe Bad Bunny shouldn't look like more of a threat than 90% of the roster, or the randomness of the eliminations can be good at maintaining suspense). It ultimately won't be a classic, but it also isn't a terrible match."

[4.0] "This was a pretty bad rumble. First off there were no real good surprises. The whole thing just felt boring as you were waiting for it to pick up but it never really did. The best parts were Knoxville and Bad Bunny. The ending was also atrocious with Shane McMahon being in the final 3 and Lesnar winning. (2/5)."
Keithnelson18 wrote on 22.02.2025:
[0.0] "This was possibly the worst royal rumble match ever. Literally nothing about this was great, a bunch of non winners entered fighting in the ring for basically nothing cause they weren't gonna win. AJ Styles getting eliminated by Madcap Moss of all people was the nail in the coffin for how WWE cared for fan favorite wrestlers. Bad Bunny being in this was unnecessary and Shane being here looking strong was BS, him eliminating Kevin Owens was also BS and him being in the final 3 was the biggest F You from Shane. Once Brock entered we all know he was gonna win and guess won, his ass won the thing in unconvincing fashion. This whole damn match was just a disaster."
Zuha Salt wrote on 04.02.2025:
[2.0] "This was absurd, everything had such little credibility. The celebrities: Bad Bunny and Johnny Knoxville were fine, Johnny lasted little and contributed everything he could contribute, Bunny was also good but his duration was excessive. Really more than half did not have an opportunity to win, because they were part of a Tag Team. When you saw Brock, Shane, Randy, Bad Bunny, Riddle and Drew, you can easily assume who is going to win. This has good times but mainly bad moments, as a confusing and messy structure. And all this only has a culprit, Shane McMahon, who took advantage of the fact that Triple H almost dies and destroyed the Royal Rumble of that year. I do not recommend it."
Moranjeboom wrote on 03.02.2025:
[5.0] "Yeah not much you can say to defend this, rumble itself was a bit dull and then the last few entrances with Lesnar and Shane McMahon just deflated what was already quite an anticlimatic rumble and evening. Also this was the start of no one knowing who's theme was what"
CMFunk007 wrote on 01.02.2025:
[5.0] "I don't know why people didn't like this that much. It held my attention and had a decent participant roster. I guess having Vince still in charge and him being relentless and over pushing his favorites backfired on him here, even though I enjoyed it very much. I didn't want Brock Lesnar to win again, either, but Vince apparently did. And I won't punish the entire match because I didn't like the winner. This did seem like an old school Rumble in that it seemed random with the guys coming in and there wasn't a ton of thought put into booking it. A little generic in terms of a Royal Rumble, but the Rumble can't be bad. I didn't care for the Omos portion of the match. I don't like Happy Corbin and I feel like Brock Lesnar gets victories when he doesn't even need them. Not the best Rumble, but not the worst (1995 is that for me)."

RandomWrestlingReview wrote on 17.01.2025:
[4.0] "There was some decent action at times during this match, the biggest issue was clearly the booking of the 'surprise' number 30 entrant, Brock Lesnar taking the victory overall which was a disappointment on the whole and made the match way too similar to the women's rumble that had come earlier- if you're going to have 2, 1 hour matches on the same show, you've got to make them feel different."
Den003 wrote on 10.11.2024:
[5.0] "well this men's battle royale really wasn't the best to say the least. One of the problems was the lack of any surprises and legends in the match, which is what you expect from this type of match. Another problem is the winner, because it's 30th place again and it's Brock again. That is, it simply does not cause emotions, although it led to the unification of titles, but the winner does not cause admiration. However, I wouldn't give him 1 star, because in my opinion it's just the most ordinary match that didn't cause much negativity."
brooksavage2004 wrote on 16.08.2024:

The elimination order was horrible, its literally the most mid and jobber rumble since the 2015 rumble and The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and Brock (who just lost the WWE Championship) wins the thing. It felt like the exact same rumble as the women's rumble on the exact same show which made this 10x as worst and overall this was the biggest definition of filler."

[5.0] "I generally always like the Rumble. It can often get an extra bump up from me, and I do feel like this was better than the awful women's match earlier in the night that only used retro callbacks to the stone age. Outside of Shane McMahon (a ridiculous addition) and the eventual winner of Brock (a Lesnar/Reigns matchup that Vince would never ever let go of until he had to be removed by force) this was emblematic of WWE in January of 2022. I can't say it's *good* having a bunch of squashed talent and meathead NXT callups who eventually went nowhere due to bad booking, but it was fascinating in the same way seeing a 1995 Rumble with Genichiro Tenryu and Dick Murdoch is. Just like the women's Rumble earlier in the night, this didn't feel like Vince screwing with people, it felt like an earnest appeal from his terribly broken brain that felt more and more pathetic as we went into the decade of the 20s. "Champion loses title match due to interference by opposing champion and enters the Rumble to win and vow revenge" is something that's been done before...and done too much...but the issue is just that in this sea of incredible talent a match was crafted that got no one over and led to a WrestleMania main event no one was anticipating. Still, you had Johnny Knoxville's head nearly taken off, very cool Rey Mysterio/Bad Bunny interaction, a snippet of Styles/Nakamura to fool suckers thinking WWE would ever go with that again, and Omos looking basically the best he ever did. And like in the bad mid-90s matches, there's some brief enjoyment in that. Just gotta be like me and watch the product in pieces 2.5 years behind to not feel invested."

I don't mind where they got to (unification), just wish it happened a different way. Legit have Lesnar keep the belt and Roman win the rumble. Pulls some strings to go in at 30 and wreck house. Why not? The Shane McMahon stuff has been joked about forever but it's honestly amazingly entertainment so I cant even hate it. But yeah at the time this was horrendous."

[2.0] "One of the worst Royal Rumbles I've seen. Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar as surprise entrants delighted the fans, as did Randy Orton who was playing at home. Totally illogical eliminations like the MVP of the match AJ Styles who is eliminated by Madcap Moss or Lesnar, Face at that moment, who eliminates all the other Faces remaining at the end who received big pops at their entrances. Otherwise Kofi Kingston misses his spot and that's quite a shame. The finale doesn't last, just like the Women's Rumble earlier. This is a very poorly booked Rumble. (1*)"

There wasn't much memorable in this, the winner was predictable and boring, I can't say I'm particularly enthused about his upcoming Wrestlemania match. And Shane making it to the final 3 was particularly egregious."

The WrestleMania sign catching on fire was perfect symbolism for this match, as we once again had to suffer through S-tier Brock for another year."
DhruvChouhan wrote on 27.01.2024:

[1.0] "52 year old Shane McMahon was in the final three of this Rumble match. That should be enough to explain this Rumble's quality (or lack there of). Although it isn't the worst Royal Rumble match in-ring wise, I still think 1999 is worse when it comes to in-ring quality, this is definitely the most boring Royal Rumble of all time. At least when it came to other really bad Rumbles like 1999 and 2015, those ones at least had moments that I can remember fondly. 1999 had all the Austin/McMahon shenanigans going on and did a fantastic job building that particular story up while 2015 too had some fun returns and promising moments before it all came crashing down via bad booking. Here though? I couldn't remember a single thing that had happened at this Royal Rumble other than Johnny Knoxville's antics and the TNA chants that were happening when AJ Styles and Bobby Roode confronted each other, and that's it. 25/30 of the spots in this Rumble were already announced ahead and killed off the hype for any other future surprises, and the surprises we did get were just plain terrible (need I remind you, Rumble finalist Shane McMahon was one of these). I love Brock Lesnar, don't get me wrong, but him winning this match just hours after losing his title to Bobby Lashley and having the company just default back to the Roman/Lesnar rivalry was monotonous at best and actively alienating the fanbase at worse. This is the worst Royal Rumble of all time, not because it was necessarily bad in-ring or was booked horribly (even though this Rumble had a healthy combination of both), this one just felt the most antithetical towards why the Royal Rumble match is so fun to begin with. All the hype, all the speculation, all the fun spots and returns and predicting who might be the winner, who might be the iron man/MVP of the match, etc. All of that was killed off in this Rumble, leading to a very drab, very boring match that failed to really capture any ounce of that Royal Rumble magic that literally every other previous Rumble match had."
Screaming Enigma wrote on 18.08.2023:
[4.0] "This was another case of the potential present not being realized for this show, unfortunately. Twelve of the thirty men in this match were eliminated before they were even in the match for five minutes. Also, I can't believe Bad Bunny and Shane McMahon were in the Final Four. If you're gonna have Lesnar win, which I was against at the time, I will give it to WWE, in that a Final Two with McIntyre is a great choice. However, as much as I like Bad Bunny and tolerate Shane McMahon, they had no business being in the Final Four. Nonetheless, a lot of things felt wasted here, much like the Women's Rumble earlier in the show. Styles was on his way to being the iron man of the match, only for Moss to randomly eliminate him. This was a weak main event with a winner that most people, including myself, didn't really want in the first place."
Pozerr wrote on 17.08.2023:
[2.0] "A lot of people have said that this match isn't as bad as 2015, but man I don't think I agree. Whether it is recency bias since I haven't seen 2015 in a while, this match is the worst Rumble of all time. The fact that WWE managed to make the Royal Rumble, the most exciting wrestling stipulation ever, boring is astonishing. Literally nothing happens and I can remember exactly 2 spots of note. Riddick Moss, pardon me, MADCAP Moss eliminated AJ Styles and Bad Bunny ate an F5. When you have only three surprises and two of them aren't full time wrestlers that is a huge problem. SHANE MCMAHON WAS IN THE FINAL THREE. Brock winning was so rushed and uninspired that I can't really say much other than it was predictable and no one wanted to see it. 1/5 and a 2/10"

The "surprise" could be seen from a mile away, which not only makes the rest of the match seem pointless, but feels worse than just outright telling the audience the finish, since at least then they aren't trying to make it seem like they orchestrated some grand surprise. Not only did Brock not need this win, since he could already just challenge for any belt and it would be acceptable, but it also just lead to the 80th match between Reigns and Lesnar."

Shane McMahon for some reason was a dominant figure. Kofi missed his big spot. Drew returned, which got a massive reaction. Those were my notes. The rest was very dull with not much to write home about. Brock, the moment he came in, made it all very predictable. Truth be told, the moment he dropped the WWE Championship, the road to WrestleMania was already paved. Not an atrocious match, but a very boring affair."

This was easily the 2nd worst rumble match of all time (behind the 2015 one). Riddick Moss had no freaking business eliminating AJ Styles (who honestly should've won) here. Bad Bunny didn't need to be one of the finalists of the rumble. Randy Orton should've been in this rumble match earlier, and he should've been in there a heck of a lot longer too since they were IN HIS HOMETOWN. Shane McMahon didn't need to be one of the final entrants. The first-third of the rumble match here was pretty tame compared to the last two-thirds (which were shit). I'll give this only 1 point (even though it's tempting to go for the 0)."
