Akira Taue & Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Steve Williams & Terry Gordy

[8.0] "The TV broadcast has about 6-7 minutes at the start cut-off. The start of what we do see here is standard stuff for AJPW (i.e good), but everything after Taue's hot tag to Tsuruta kicks off a hot finishing stretch that I loved."

[7.0] "Taue got mauled by the MVC, enough to turn him back face for the match, per the usual business. Taue can only do so much but he is sympathetic in his role. Jumbo is a good equaliser on his own, being capable of taking the MVC by himself at times. I thought the MVC were more lively in this than they are on their usual day, working hard and with a ton of intensity. They win via a powerbomb. ***1/2"

[8.0] "Fantastic hard-hitting tag match. There were lots of great lariats and powerbombs as you would expect from a tag match featuring these guys. I also liked Tsuruta's jumping knee strikes."

[7.0] "This was a really good hard-hitting match, just the kind of thing that you'd expect from these four, with some great and at times intense action."

[6.0] "Fine match. Williams' and Gordy's brawling didnt do much for me as usual. Jumbo and Taue, on the other hand, had great strikes to liven things up. I enjoyed the story of the dastardly gaijins constantly teaming up on one opponent, attacking them in illegal and overly aggressive manners, and constantly breaking up Jumbo and Taue's pin attempts and submission holds. It made for a cool finish as Taue was desperate to tag in Jumbo but Williams was pulling Jumbo off the apron, allowing Gordy back in the ring to pick Taue up and deliver a powerbomb for the win. Yet another enjoyable but plain 90s AJPW tag match. ***"

"I like the fact Williams prevents Tsuruta breaking the cover, it's good tag team work. Tsuruta does impressive lariats."
