[4.0] "This was an alright match, but it grew tiring toward the end. It's definitely interesting to see Kevin Nash (Vinnie Vegas) vs. Dustin Rhodes so early in their careers. It's not unbearable, but it's not really worth seeking out if you're looking for something good to watch. 4/10"
[3.0] "Dustin Rhodes is always adept at fighting from underneath, but when your opponent is '92 Kevin Nash, there was only so much you could do to make it look compelling. That Vegas bear hug looked as if it would go on forever! One takeaway I got from this is that you don't realize how huge of a wrestler Dustin is until you see him standing side by side with Vinnie Vegas. Dustin moved on to the semi-finals after hitting a running bulldog that came seemingly out of nowhere. Nothing to see here. [*1/4]"
[3.0] "Nash is 2 years into his wrestling career, he didn't look bad here. Dustin is Dustin so he adds alot to the match. Definitely a bit undercooked here, there's not really a clear big man vs smaller man thing here even though I felt like they wanted to do that with the size difference. Still with not much and the time they had they got out something that at least wasn't totally bad. Just a tad short of serviceable for me."
[4.0] "I thought this was at least watchable. Vinnie Vegas always looks clunky and awkward at this point in his career, but for the most part they did well at least keeping things moving. Dustin played the 'David' role well against a Goliath who was lower down on the roster totem pole than he was, elevating both himself and his opponent in the process. The bear hugs definitely hurt the momentum that they had otherwise done a decent job building, but overall I thought this worked well enough."
[2.0] "Pretty poor stuff. Kevin Nash is just absolutely woeful. His selling is terrible. He just looks gangly and awkward, nothing like the confident but still pretty naff Diesel he becomes in WWE. Dustin does the carrying but he doesn't really seem all that fussed either. Bear hugged to tedium."
[2.0] "Watch and laugh as Kev-er Vinnie Vegas falls for school boy after school boy AFTER SCHOOL BOY, only to comeback with one of the worst sunset flips in documented wrestling history. Point and laugh at the buffoon everyone. Things improve (how could they not) but the bearhugs are indeed, woeful. Neither men are working this particular hold and its both of their faults as to why this spot SUCKS. The finish is fun enough to help this rescue from avoid."
[4.0] "It started off quite well but it soon lost steam and the two bearhugs from Nash eventually sucked the life out of it. There's little value here beyond the novelty of seeing Nash and Dustin facing off so early in their careers."
