[8.0] "This was an excellent match. After Finn Balor won the NXT Championship, William Regal announced a Gauntlet Eliminator match. We started out with two men, that being Kushida and Kyle O'Reilly, then every 4 minutes a new wrestler would enter the match. So they basically combined the Royal Rumble with a standard elimination match and tweaked the rules a bit. Bronson Reed came out and we got a fun 3 way going. I was stunned that Kushida was eliminated as early as he was when Velveteen Dream came in and gave him a Dream Valley Driver. Reed then hit a Tsunami Splash to eliminate Kushida. Timothy Thatcher then came out before going to commercial break. After the break, we got Cameron Grimes coming in and it became a four way for a while. Reed did something I wasn't expecting, which was a dive through the ropes onto all 3 men. Unfortunately for him, Reed missed the Tsunami Splash on Thatcher and O'Reilly hit a knee from the top turnbuckle to eliminate him. O'Reilly then went back and forth with Thatcher mostly, ending with him rolling up Thatcher to eliminate him. Grimes then came out of nowhere with the Cave In and thought he won, not seeing Kyle's foot reach the bottom rope. After a couple more minutes, Grimes went for another Cave In, only to miss and tweak his knee. O'Reilly took the immediate advantage and submitted him with some kind of knee based submission hold, ensuring he would face Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at Takeover 31. ****1/4"

[6.0] "I don't really get the hype on this one, seeing Kyle running the gauntlet was cool and the opening stretch had some nice technical graps but as a whole it's not that engaging to me. Dream effectively eliminating Kushida was a lazy way to set up a match, and Thatcher's elimination didn't feel very convincing. Grimes hooks the wrong leg and telegraphs the foot on the rope extremely obviously, the whole thing was pretty messy. I liked the Bronson tope suicida but there weren't many moments that made me feel like this lived up to its stipulation and overall reception."

[8.0] "Great match. Not sure why people found it boring or messy. It had some classic NXT black and gold spots and some overused spots and went on a tad too long. It also had a bit too many overdone moments but the good outweighs the bad. Every wrestler looked great. Hell even Timothy Thatcher looked really well. O Reilly looked good but he didn't look exceptional. He didn't have any outstanding moments but he showcased just how good of a singles wrestler he is. The opening with Kushida was really good. Bronson looked really well. That surprised me. To close, a match like this had no right to be as physical as it was. Typically matches like this, or any gimmick match in WWE is overbooked and has a lot of shenanigans and is never really wrestling, more just unique spots or moments smashed together to make a good match. This was not the case. This match was incredibly physical with Cameron Grimes adding a tad of "the WWE style". It was a great match. I would totally recommend you go out of your way to watch it. Although it isn't for everyone due to the hard hitting style that's mainly used throughout the match."

[8.0] "Super well done match after Kushida got eliminated Kyle was my top choice so I liked the finish. The eliminations were fun and it had some really cool spots throughout like Bronson hitting a guy with another guy. I wish WWE would do shit like this more often there? s so much talent on the roster it seems like when you need a number one contender some sort of simple multi man match or tournament should be the go to."
