[7.0] "A good, but not great match. The one problem, was that it went a little too short and it didn't have a stipulation to it either. It should've been a winner take all match or something along those lines. Nevertheless, it's still a match that's worth looking at again."

[8.0] "Fun triple threat match designed to get both titles off of Kurt Angle without him getting beat. Benoit and Jericho have always had an undeniable chemistry between them, but throwing Angle into the mix was a great choice."

[7.0] "This was the WrestleMania debut for all three of these guys, and they'd each go on to deliver several classic matches at future WrestleManias. The bout featured a unique stipulation where both of Kurt Angle's championships were on the line, the first fall determined the Intercontinental Championship, while the second fall decided the European Championship. It's extremely weird that WWF put the less prestigious European Title as the second fall, which definitely hurt the match's momentum as the fans didn't care about the second fall nearly as much. The match is pretty good overall, but you'd expect something better with higher intensity and more dramatic near falls given the caliber of wrestlers involved. Chris Benoit pinned Chris Jericho to capture the Intercontinental Championship, while Jericho rebounded to pin Benoit and win the European Title, meaning Kurt Angle lost both the championships. I liked the story here that Angle lost both titles without being pinned or submitted himself. Kurt's run as the Eurocontinental Champion had been very entertaining, and it's no surprise he would go on to capture the WWF Championship later that same year. A solid triple threat match that looks like an absolute classic compared to the rest of this underwhelming card. [***1/4]"

[6.0] "Just through and through a really strong performance from all three. The match stayed fast paced and kept you on your toes. There were a lot of really great broken up near fall spots. The storyline they told where Angle lost both titles without being pinned was well done. It kept him looking strong but got the gold off him to start to move him up the card. I just don't think this match had quite enough selling or time to build some suspense up to catapult it into the upper echelon of matches. Still a fantastic match, and probably second best of the night, but doesn't quite reach 'outstanding' territory."

[7.0] "It's a good match, but it did feel like something was missing here and one of the things that weakened the match for me was the second fall being for the less prestigious title so the stakes felt lower as the match went along. The match is all action from start to finish as all of them show their technical skills in there and Angle's performance is solid despite the fact he wasn't yet at the level he would eventually become. It was quite clever when Benoit won the first fall after throwing Angle to the front row and landing a diving headbutt on Jericho, he immediately tries to win the second with Angle breaking up the fall. It's a good way to put the finisher over. There is a lot of action in the second fall, although I thought the ref bump was unnecessary with him missing Jericho tapping out. Jericho wins the second fall and his music plays while Benoit walks away with the better title. The odd structure aside, it is one of the better matches on this show and I have to believe had these three wrestled a triple threat again a year or so again it would have been a legendary match."

[4.0] "So the first fall starts out with Benoit attacking Angle to start the match out. A minute in there's nothing special its just chops and irish whips until Jericho lands on his feet from a belly to back and then dropkicks benoit out of the ring. Another dropkick to Angle, the crowd is fucking dead for these guys somehow, even though theyre by far the best workers on the card. Another dropkick from Jericho to both guys on the apron. Sliding baseball kick from Jericho to Benoit, then he gets flapjacked onto the stairs by Angle. Back in the ring Angle hits a nice Belly to Belly and Benoit breaks up the pin attempt. A stupid pin attempt after a punch by Benoit before pinning angle. Small aside, and I"m not just saying this because he's a huge piece of shit, but Benoit has got to be the single most overrated wrestler of all time, his stuff looks nice and intense and all, but he has the fucking creativity and style that will just bore you to tears. Jericho flies off the top rope as Benoit and Angle go at it in ring, and then Jericho comes in and hits a, i know this is going to be a surprise, but a dropkick! Heads to the top rope and omg he hits another dropkick! Benoit hits a stupid little backbreaker and goes for another pin, this is kinda what i'm talking about, no one in the WWE has more pointless pins in their matches than Chris Benoit and Triple H. Jericho and Angle go at it on the ropes, Jericho hits a bulldog, i believe the first move he's done this match that wasn't a fuckin dropkick. Benoit chops Jericho into the corner before getting hit with a belly to back suplex by Angle, Jericho breaks it up from the second rope. This is just a totally heatless match. Jerich o puts Benoit in the camel clutch, then hits Angle with a stalling vertical standing suplex before landing, and then Benoit covers angle first. No one is selling a goddamn thing in this match. Really nice Belly to Belly overhead suplex by Angle but the ref ruins it by counting a pin while both of jericho's legs are under the ropes. Reversed irish whip leads to a spot where Benoit pins jericho and Angle breaks it up with a dropkick that sends Benoit face first into the buckle. Angle and Jericho go back and forth inside the ring before ANgle hits the crossface chicken wing, Benoit just watches and takes fucking forever to break it up, so it just looks stupid. Benoit sends Angle outside and then Angle sends him over the barricade, heads to the top rope, hits the flying headbutt, pins Jericho for the three and wins. Just a fucking nothing match, abysmally bad considering these 3 guys talent for a wrestlemania match. The next portion of the match is kinda dumb as well, but at least has a nicer spot where Benoit hits a top rope belly to back and then Angle hits a top rope moonsault that is genuinely gorgeous. Then they do the count out spot almost immediately which makes no goddamn sense for a triple threat, but oh well. Jericho pins both guys but they kick out, then Jericho gets the walls of Jericho on Angle. Benoit breaks it up immediately. Jericho hits a spinning heel kick, Angle goes off the ropes, Jericho hits a powerbomb nd then hits a second one on a deadlift that didn't look that great. Jericho goes after Benoit and then Benoit hits him with the trio of Germans, bridge but Angle takes out his leg. On a bridging German suplex Angle takes it wrong so he doesn't get his shoulder down for the pin attempt. Jericho then takes down the ref, then Benoit takes him down and gets him to tap to the crossface. Jericho gets the walls of jericho in but the ref is still out. Angle hits Jericho with the belt, Benoit for some reason just literally walks around ringside even after being in the walls. Angle pins jericho but Benoit pulls him out of the ring, Benoit and Angle fight with fists in the center of the ring, Benoit hits him with a Belly to back, Angle rolls out of the way of the headbutt, Jericho hits the lionsault and pins Benoit for the win, Angle is just staring. The selling made no sense, the booking made no sense. That fucking sucked. This just wasn't wrestling that made sense when it came to the match and is the kind of overbooked mess that makes wrestling so stupid sometimes."

Don't get me wrong, they executed everything almost perfectly, but it was just three professionals hitting cold moves, nothing more. The fans have woken up a little bit near the end, but it still didin't feel great."

[6.0] "The stipulation was really weird. It was like two different matches in one, like some sort of 2 out of 3 falls match in which Kurt Angle wasn't pinned and yet he lost both Titles. Even weirder was the moment of Chris Benoit being handed the Intercontinental Title after being pinned by Jericho. Kinda ruined his Title win. The match was similar of the WCW signature Cruiserweight matches, fast non stopping action between three highly gifted wrestlers. Aside from the Walls of Jericho, nothing in this match got a reaction from the crowd and that killed the vibe of the match, which was pretty entertaining, but nothing near the true potential these three could deliver. An early 2000's typical midcard match that was solid due to the men involved (*** 1/4)"

Giantfan1980 wrote on 18.09.2022:
[6.0] "Match picks up immediately as now they are fighting for the Euro title. Personally I think the first fall should have been for the Euro belt as it's definitely the lesser of the titles in the pecking order. Benoit tries another head butt but misses Angle and Jericho capitalizes with a lionsault on Benoit for the pin and the belt. Kurt Angle ends up losing both belts without eating the pin which is fine, as he's already moving onto bigger stuff."
Derek Joists wrote on 27.08.2022:
[7.0] "The stipulation of one fall counting for each title was a good one, and one that could potentially be brought back given how many wrestlers and teams hold multiple titles these days. Angle's not quite the wrestler he'd become, but he holds his own against two of the best of all time even early in his career. That said, the match isn't quite as good as it could have been and seemed a little messy in parts, and especially the second fall was a bit rushed."

You'd expect something better than what we got considering the names but Angle was only like 5 months in wrestling on TV/PPVS. There was good action, they worked at a pretty fast pace but I felt like this was missing something to be better and idk what it is.***1/2"

Everyone involved in this would all eventually have better matches with each other, but this was a fine showcase of probably the three best pure wrestlers in the company at the time. Angle would lose both falls, but he's about to go to much bigger things."

Second half gained in intensity and tension, with nice fall brocken. Jericho pop is really great. Once again Angle almost in tears is hilarious as he didn'y get pinned."
