[1.0] "A really basic tag team opener, where also didn't have storyline or build up for it, and was more like booked before the PPV started, lot of work between the Tag teams and nothing more, so it stays in like nothing. 1/10 [1/2*]"

[4.0] "It's basically a meh opening tag team match. A match that could've taken place on Heat rather than on the main show, but it is what it is. Nothing special, just a match that took place. This match happened. That's what I can say both positive and negative about it."

[6.0] "Not the best choice for an opener, but it wasn't a trainwreck like it could have been. Bull Buchanan was pretty good in the ring and D'Lo was always a treat to watch. I probably would've kicked it off with the hardcore battle royal and stuck this in a better position on the card."

[3.0] "I was baffled by the decision to kick off the event with this match, as it looked terrible on paper. However, it actually turned out to be one of the better matches on the card. I expected this to be awful, but the wrestlers made the most of their time and delivered a somewhat decent encounter. There was a spot in the middle where D'Lo Brown hit the Hurricanrana off the top rope on Bull Buchanan, which was nice to watch. Surprisingly, the heel team of Big Boss Man and Buchanan secured the victory, with Buchanan pinning D'Lo following a leg drop. The babyface team was actually kind of over with the crowd, so giving them the win would have made more sense, but I guess they were planning to push Bull Buchanan? Either way, that certainly didn't work out. [*3/4]"

[4.0] "Not a bad match, but far, far from Wrestlemania worthy. This was essentially a basic tag match you'd see on Raw or at a house show. The heels dominate almost the entire match and it seems strange to open Wrestlemania with a heel dominated match where they win too. Maybe it was trying to establish Bull, but I just find it a strange choice. A passable match, but on the stage they're on, not good enough."

Ruthless Attitude wrote on 23.11.2024:
[4.0] "Nothing too bad, but it's just very standard. Bull does have some impressive agility for a man his size, but he didn't really have a lot going for him cosplaying as Bossman like this and its a match you forget about as soon as it's finished."
jsborts wrote on 20.10.2024:
[2.0] "Bull Buchanan might be one of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen. The Godfather isn't exactly far behind him either. This was just a messand its shocking they gave it this long. How this is a Wrestlemania match is just a testament to needing a spot for The Godfather's entrance, which is the only part of this thing the audience cared about anyways."

D-Lo and Godfather were over and fans didn't want to see Boss Man so they were pretty loud. They didn't do anything too complicated or mind blowing, but kept it professional and made it somewhat enjoyable."

[5.0] "Not a particularly great opener, but a bit better than I expected with the average rating it has currently (3.73). Crowd liked Godfather, Buchanan had two cool spots (flying clothesline and leg drop) and it wasn't too long. It did drag a bit in some points and it felt a bit more like a TV match rather than Mania opener, but its not really that bad"

[3.0] "Godfather and D-Lo come to ringside escorted by Ice T who performs a new entrance theme that has some repetitive lyrics to say the least. D-lo and Bull start off, D-lo gets the early advantage. Tags in Godfather and he slams Bull. Godfather misses an elbow drop that is way off the mark. Bull tags in Bossman, Bossman misses something and Godfather starts working on Bossman. D-lo is in and he starts getting beat on by Bull. Bull and Boss double team D-lo. Crowd starts a Bossman sucks chant. Bull goes up top, but Godfather shakes the ropes and Bull goes down hard in the corner, D-Lo follows up with a hurricinrana. D-Lo gets the tag, and the Ho man goes crazy. Everybody get involved and Bossman catches D-Lo with a Bossman slam, then Bull polishes him off with a leg drop off the top rope and gets the pin. Nothing opener, not the best way to kick off Mania."

flightaker321 wrote on 09.07.2022:
[4.0] "I get the decision to put Godfather on WM since he's one of the most over acts but the best they could do was Bossman and Buchanan really? The heat segment on DLO was fine but too long and Godfather's hot tag when he finally got in was great, they should've won this match after it. Slow paced opener with the wrong winner isn't exactly an ideal start to Mania.**"

[5.0] "Godfather is one of the most over undercard acts during this period. The crowd eats up all his signature spots and it makes this opener so much more palatable. Bull Buchanan might not be very charismatic, but he impressed me with his surprising athleticism. He launches himself up to the top rope without using his hands as he hits D'Lo with a springboard clothesline. The air he gets on his leg drop was also incredible. Initially, I questioned the logic of sending out two teams that are barely scraping the midcard to open Wrestlemania, but the fans loved this and it was better than it had any right to be."

[3.0] "This was a boring match. Not sure why they chose this as an opener since it was a slow paced match with a heel win. The idea was to put Buchanan over since they probably figured he could be star down the road. That did not happen, of course. Not good *1/4"
