I for one like New Year's Baby beanie Big Show. The reason this dude waffled between face and heel so often was because he was good at playing both. Cody's got a good fit and he works pretty well with Beeg but the match goes super short."

It's almost telling, though, that nearly all of those less successful moments are clearly more memorable than what's on offer here. Cody struggles a bit and ends up taking the devastating punch. That might be entertaining enough overall, but the match itself falls a bit short."

If the time cut was due to the 3 main matches, then why not limit the match card in order to give sufficient time for the worthy matches. I mean half the show was just advertising about it anyways."

[5.0] "A match that was designed to give Big Show a feel good Wrestlemania moment but the story they told just made the outcome predictable. At 5 minutes it doesn't overstay its welcome but the in-ring action wasn't anything special."
KingsCrossing wrote on 06.04.2025:
[5.0] "This was fun for what it was. Cody does a fairly impressive job at looking credible against Show despite the size differential, and manages to pull this off without it being at Show's expense. The match is a bit too short to earn a higher rating, but it all worked well enough to give Big Show his moment in the sun at WrestleMania.."

[4.0] "The best thing about this match was the emotion from Show when he won. He really made it seem like this match and this win meant a lot to him. Like he was so happy he was finally getting a proper nod at Wrestlemania after putting so many people over for so many years. The match itself...wasn't great, but wasn't awful. It was too slow. Show had slow offense as expected, but when Cody got control, it was still submissions and rest holds, so it didn't pick up much. The match itself just never picked up to any degree. A nice moment for Big Show, but nothing to go out of your way to see."

[6.0] "After Rhodes fails to take Big Show down as the match starts, Show gets a lengthy shine segment. Chopping Cody's chest, throwing him around the ring like a sack of shit, and even giving him a stinkface. Cody takes control by going after the big guy's legs. After dazing Show with a Beautiful Disaster kick, Cody tries his luck and goes to hit him with another, only to be cut off with a nasty spear right to the groin. Shows gets a win and finally gets his Wrestlemania moment. This was a lot more enjoyable than you would think. They play up to the size differences, it's wrapped up in just over five minutes and it has a feel-good ending to boot."
