Danny Maff vs. Teddy Hart

[6.0] "Somehow this was relatively fun? I did not expect Teddy Hart and Dan Maff to have an engaging match in 2018 but I'll be damned, they put in more effort than I imagined. This felt like a throwback to the days of JAPW (in a good way). It started in a surprising fashion, they locked up about 4-5 times just to feel each other out, instead of busting out big moves right away. There was a nice gradual pace that is hard to find in Teddy Hart matches, and so I have to give credit to Maff for keeping him grounded. Obviously the intensity ramped up later on, and it became a battle of Maff's power vs Teddy's highflying. For me, the clear highlight of this match is when Maff lost his head and threw Teddy into the crowd, who did a ridiculous bump in a way only he can, clearing out a couple fans. Maff kept on the pressure, repeatedly sending Teddy into the barricade and Teddy had his bumping shoes on which made everything look brutal. There's one big botch where Teddy seemed to be attempting a shooting star press onto Maff who was hung over the apron, which would have been insane but he slipped and almost broke his neck. There's a couple nice near falls going into the finish, and although I can't stand Canadian Destroyers, at least they kept Maff down for a three count. As a match it's not necessarily worth seeking out, but they definitely over-achieved here. Good stuff. (3*)"
