[6.0] "I remember this match being pretty good but nothing special really. I only remember the finishing sequence and oiwa being the star of the match. It was also too long for my liking considering the action in the match. *** 1/2"
[6.0] "I think this match was greatly propped up by the storytelling of all the stars involved and not particularly the in ring action. Don't get me wrong, everyone here is great and was on form but what occured in the ring wasn't nearly as interesting as the tensions between the younger team and having Zack Sabre Jr compete against his TMDK stablemates. Anytime ZSJ was in the ring with either Kosei Fujita and Ryohei Oiwa it was pretty good and Taichi and Yuya Uemura also had great fire coming in for their respective hot tags. However none of the wrestling really wowed me, it was all just to the level I expect from these guys but in smaller increments as this was an eight man tag match. This mostly worked for me as setting up future matches like seeing Fujita and Oiwa team as a unit more, Oiwa and Shota Umino slugging it out, maybe ZSJ and Taichi running it back. As a match though I just thought it was decent"
[7.0] "This bubbled nicely from the get-go and never exhausted its heated intergenerational combinations or internal squabbling / team building storylines. That all said, I'm not a fan of the standard tornado chaos that all mutli-man matches descend into nowadays and to have 25 minutes of great wrestling be the set up for Ishii pinning Oiwa was super lame ***1/2"
[6.0] "i have to leave a rating to say this is a good match that mixes the old guys and the new guys. that is the point. not a lot to go on. i liked that they beat up zack. i don't need taichi in anything. good venue for this as a main event on a throwaway show."
[7.0] "More enjoyable than your average New Japan multi-man, I didn't love this quite as much as others but it's a nice look at the old against the new faces of the company which will likely carry into the future. Always a pleasure to watch Sabre especially."
[7.0] "This was a good finish to the show. The mix of young guns and vets created some really fun dynamics, with Zack Sabre Jr. stealing several sequences and Ishii delivering his usual stiff hits. Umino and Yuya showed legit tag potential, while Fujita brought that punk attitude. Taichi was dull as usual, and Taguchi's comedy was thankfully muted. The crowd was electric, lifting the action, and even with some predictable spots, the energy and storytelling made this one enjoyable."
[9.0] "Yes the action was really good but man the buzz of the crowd was incredible, it felt like peak NJPW all over again. The sense of urgency from the guys was brilliant so there was very little downtime, but man the crowd were so invested it just elevated everything. ****1/2"
[9.0] "Really good stuff here, the concept of the match is great and the match lived up to the hopes, they told a great story and the last 10 minutes was tremendous."
[9.0] "Absolutely crackers match to finish the show with. After a lot of fun these 8 guys decided to basically go all out in an amazing matcg. So many fun dynamics between and within the teams, a lot of different styles with some big brawlers, some technical wizards, the master of basics that is Yuya and the master of whatever it is Taguchi does. Really really fun end to a fun show"
[10.0] "This was absolutely sensational. This is the exact kind of stuff that's missing from current New Japan. Everyone was on fire, the youngs all taking it to the vets. Electric action, once again the TMDK boys stealing the show. Zack has been so damn good this year after WK and I adore this ishii/Taichi team"
[9.0] "The main event of NJPW Shinnichi-Champion Presents Pyon, an 8-man tag that NJPW dubbed as Generation Crash, it was Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, & TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita) vs. Zack Sabre Jr, Taichi, Tomohiro Ishii, & Ryusuke Taguchi, and it was a fire main event! I loved that Oiwa was so bold enough to want to tangle with the champ and his TMDK frontman, ZSJ to start out this 8-man tag and I loved the technical wrestling exchange between them to kickstart the match! Everybody in this 8-man tag got a chance to shine, even Taguchi who didn't come in wearing his long pants and goofing around doing comedy spots like he usually does (the comedy was saved for before and after the match), he was wearing tights and he came to work! Kosei Fujita got to bring forth his Japanese Young Punk attitude, there was a time where he even tagged Shota Umino in aggressively and they got in each other's faces a little bit. Speaking of whom, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura working together in this match showed that they could team up and challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Titles down the line if they wanted to, whether Taichi & Ishii still hold those belts by the end of this month or not. Also I LOVED seeing Dangerous Tekkers (ZSJ & Taichi) reunite for one night! And I loved how we went from seeing a past great tag team working together for a bit and then by the end of this match, we saw the great tag team chemistry that Taichi & Ishii currently have work to another successful win! Awesome match!"
[9.0] "Awesome Main Event for the Shinnichi Event, the lld guys vs the young generations. A lot of nice things were teased, and the public was crazy, a nice moment."
[10.0] "What a fucking match this was. Undoubtedly one of the best 8-man tag team matches I've had the pleasure of seeing. Zack and Oiwa's technical work was ungodly, Taguchi showed up for this one, Fujita showed why he's the punk (that slap to tag in Umino was great), Yuya and Umino showed their tag chemistry, Ishii and Taichi did good and Zack is always awesome to watch. Absolutely worth watching."
