[8.0] "I want to give this a 10 so bad as the performance from both men here was spectacular. This was the best showcase I've seen from either man. The first 20 minutes or so of this match were expertly built. Oku targeted Slater's leg for the half crab while Slater began targeting Oku's back following one of the gnarliest bumps I've seen the whole year. Both men targeted and sold the respective injuries with beautiful consistency. And then the manager spot came in. It didn't destroy the match but it derailed it for a good two minutes as they tried to regain ground. It's so unfortunate because before and after that was excellence."
[9.0] "Very similar in quality to their other match this year, leaning on some tropes I don't especially love and going too long but still putting together a match that felt compelling and worthy of recommendation. Slater continues to stand out above and beyond."
[7.0] "****1/2 great match, it didn't turn out to be a MOTY Contender as I expected but at least they maintained the level of their previous fight (at RevPro), great chemistry as previously demonstrated, great rhythm, although towards the end with the managers grabbing a lot of camera, some of the rhythm was lost, great sequences, very great limbwork from Slater to Oku's back and a very great selling from the latter, Slater's more aggressive attitude seemed great to me, great ending Leon manages to connect the Swanton Bomb and 450 Swanton combo with which he finally manages to defeat Oku"
[7.0] "RevPro needs to thin their shit out in all honesty. This match was on track to being my favorite match of either of these guys and the best match I've seen in RevPro in the short amount of time I've been watching but again they overindulge and remove the expertly crafted tension that they had built for 20 minutes. Leon Slater had a mean streak here and looked like a killer, far beyond anything I've seen from him before. They sold this next level Slater immediately without even touching with just how "deer in the headlights" Michael Oku looked. Oku bumped liked a boss for this kid, showcased so soon with that insane back bump onto the apron from top rope. The two sold their fatigue and damage so well with Oku not being able to fully lock in th Half Boston Crab because of his back and Slater struggling to capitalize on his offence due to his leg. This has me fully sold but as I said they had to milk the cow to death when they tried to include some manager shenanigans which wasn't a match killer nor was a it a totally dumb idea but Oku and Slater took ages to get into position which left the three on the outside standing there in idle animation and the match never fully recovered. To make matters worse it didn't even feel essential to the outcome of the match. Really fucking good match that tripped over the finish line"
[6.0] "Slater took a massive headfirst DDT right before finishing Oku off. Does no-one else notice or care about these completely nonsensical moments? Oku kept trying to win with the half crab after working the neck. Time stood still while the two dudes on the outside basically molested Oku's missus while the three of them waited for their cue. These types of glaring glitches are a real shame because the focus on Oku's back problems had been brilliantly done and of course the athleticism throughout was superb. I dunno, I guess I wish more wrestlers were able to deliver a simple, focused story in under 20 minutes rather than going for epic and landing on messy and overindulgent ***"
[6.0] "(Grade:C/***) Quite honestly, the action was good but it felt a bit too dragged on for my liking and I think the biggest part of that goes to Michael Oku, I'm just not a huge fan of him I can understand the appeal. However, his matches go on for too long and I feel overly dramatic. Leon Slater looked good here and I'm glad he got the victory here."
[10.0] "This match paid off their first match disappointment to me, it felt way more joined and it actually felt epic with and amazing crescendo, not top much overbooking and great false finishes that lead Leon Slater to such a win. An indy MOTYC, to me. *****"
[7.0] "Good action here weakened by a lot of outside interference that got a bit tiresome after a while. Leon Slater is great and Oku is depending really well as a prospect but there were so many people involved it felt unnecessary by the end."
[7.0] "I loved the story of this match, the veteran top guy trying to retain his spot against the young prodigy, and I thought they did a good job of weaving that into the match. The action was excellent as you'd expect and this was well on the way to making my notebook before they delved down the well-trodden melodrama path. It wasn't just the shenanigans at ringside with Amira, Liam Slater and Cameron Khai, it was also Leon Slater doing the 'why am I so violent' face. This was a passing of the torch moment done well but not done greatly."
[7.0] "Super hot crowd for this match and both guys worked very hard, it was a great match but the outside the ring stuff hurt the overall enjoyment, it felt very low rent WWE and unnecessary. It would have been better is they just let these two demons wrestle and see who's the best instead of inserting Slaters fan club into the mix"
[8.0] "MOTN for me and another in a series of great matches from a really strong rivalry. A bit too much interference from Amira but it did feel like it earned its length by the end."
[10.0] "Right so somehow we have only gone and topped the last match both in this feud and on this show. This match was fucking excellent and one of my favourite of the whole year i gave the first match back at high stakes 4.75 and i thought they would struggle to beat that but my god they did whilst the first match was bigger on insane high spots and Oku going super human mode in the closing strech to win this match was more methodical and built around a series of insane back bumps Oku took the one where Slater kicked him of the top rope and he landed on the side of the apron was insane to watch jaw on the floor type bump. Oku put on one of the best face performances you will see all year with amazing selling throughout the match whilst Slater methodically wore him down for most of the match. The sequences in this match were all equitize and towards the end of the match when the pace picked up it went crazy with Slater getting the biggest win of his Career with a twist of Slate and two swanton 450s in a real passing of the torch moment for Rev pro. Overall one of the best matches you will see anywhere this year with an all timer face performance and the same with the heel so much history between the two, A match full of great selling and psychology between two of the best independent wrestlers on the planet it really was fucking excellent (*****)"
[9.0] "Very good match with seemingly endless cavalcade of scary and impressive spots. Felt a bit too long when being there live and already getting tired."
[10.0] "These two lads are destined to fight forever. What an absolute feast of a match. If you think Zozaya/ZSJ was in the stratosphere, and it was, this went all the way to space and back. Two of Britain's best putting on a clinic, like they always do, because they're simply incapable of having a bad match together. Indeed, it was so good even the timekeeper didn't want to stop them (unless Francesca meant to say it had a sixty minute time limit...), and to be honest, nobody wanted them to stop anyway. Simply exquisite."
[10.0] "Incredible technically, absolutely brilliant back and forth, a tonne to get the crowd excited who were loud and red hot for this throughout, with a big divide on who they were backing which is always a tonne of fun to be a part of. Frankly I have no notes, this was basically perfect in every way and I feel privileged to have seen it in person. Phenomenal."
[10.0] "[****3/4] Match of the night. An epic, high drama passing of the torch of RevPro's ace and a suitable companion piece for their Doncaster title match. This should be the centrepiece rivalry in RevPro."
[7.0] "In a mostly dreadful 2025 for RevPro, these two had the only match I went notebook on. This was comfortably on track to beat that match and they were building the tension and momentum superbly. Alas they ground everything to a halt to get the various seconds involved and they never got close to recovering what they had going which made it so very frustrating."
