[8.0] "Fabulous match, pairing some thrilling action with an engaging, natural dynamic. Alexander is the grizzled veteran here, attempting to "old-man" the precocious Slater. That draws a fire from the champion, giving this a prickly edge as Slater matches that energy with some limb work. Alexander responds with his familiar back attack, both parties selling nicely along the way. It's a purposeful affair, thankfully not straying too far from those raw ingredients, going home with that outline still firmly intact. ****"
[6.0] "I didn't really gel with this match, honestly. They had some good moments, such as the Styles Clash, but it wasn't quite the match I thought it would be. The finish was good, and it was wise to give Slater quite a credible opponent so early on in his reign."
[8.0] "Slater continues to do a good job. The crowd supported both men. We had a styles clash. A great show of respect between the two men after the match."
[6.0] "Feels kinda shit to rate this so low but this match didn't really click with me. Sure its got some impressive moves, what with the talent involved but I didn't get a strong sense of much else besides moves. The match didn't really grip me until the finish with Leon Slater's dive to the outside and pulling out a Styles Clash. Unfortunately what followed was some pretty egregious repositioning for Slater's Swanton 450 which seems to be something Slater himself could've done for Cedric Alexander. I love both of these guys but this didn't live up to expectations"
[8.0] "Well this was absolutely awesome. Every TNA ppv is quickly becoming the Leon Slater has the match of the night. The thing about Slater that is so great is for his age and the style he works he has selling down to a tee. Him and Alexander had an awesome match with some sick bumps. Specially some of the leg work on Alexander was awesome. ****"
[8.0] "They tore it up. I really hope this Slater title run continues like this with these kinds of opponents. Alexander matched the champ's effort level and they had a great night."
[7.0] "Great enjoyable match and good first ppv defense for slater. Of course it was gonna be great it is two of the best workers on the TNA roster. Loved the aggression early on in the match from slater going after the leg of Alexander which I feel is something we have to see more of from later that ability we all know he has that he's a great wrestler not just a dude that can do flips. I enjoyed it a lot and slater has to hold the best at minimum the rest of the year I just don't see anyone that is prepared to take it from him right now or being built to. (***1/2)"
[8.0] "Very enjoyable opening match to Emergence with a good crowd for it that had split favorability toward Cedric and Leon. A strong defense to continue Leon's reign in a good showing by Cedric."
