[8.0] "I think they could've done this match with the regular 30-minutes (specially if it was going to end with a double KO), because while the first 20 minutes were good, after the 30 minute mark is when they finally started WRESTLING and it good pretty good and the crowd started reacting like you would've expected, but yeah, this going almost an hour hurt this match, still a pretty good double title match"
[6.0] "REALLY wanted to like this match far more than I did, this felt like a 20-25 minute match dragged out to nearly an hour....only to end on a double KO fuck finish. Love both Utami and Takumi but this match was a let down."
[9.0] "Just got into joshi wrestling and while i saw Utami hype everywhere, i think i came out of this more as a big Takumi fan and will check her most recent work expeditiously. Onto the match, I loved it, what a huge show of resilience and stamina by both wrestlers, those Takumi kicks are impactful and make me pop every time."
[10.0] "By far the best women's match of the year up to this point. The strikes, submissions and bombs hit hard as trains and the selling might be the best of the whole decade, selling your exhaustion progressing through the match up to the point you can't stand on your feet is not easy at all. Best match in MARIGOLD's short history. *****1/4(5, 25*/10, 5 out of ten)"
"An absolute BANGER. If you enjoy slow paced epic matches, where every hit counts, and it continues to build up this is your match. The pure wrestling maneuvers part was amazing, the build up, working on each other weaknesses, what can i say, i loved it. They hit hard and strong, not holding back. I would give it a 8.5 because if you are going to end it on a draw, you might as well just end it due to time limit, that would have been epic, like, we could continue forever if it werent for the time limit, but otherwise this was a hell of a match."
[8.0] "Undoubtedly a divisive match, but one that I enjoyed quite a bit. Two of the top stars Joshi has to offer went to war for 56 minutes. I was fully engaged the whole time, and I think that's just a testament to how good both women are. From a technical perspective, I thought this was great. Both women repeatedly attacked each other's limbs throughout. Iroha sold the hell out of her leg for the better part of half an hour. I found it interesting that the finish was a double KO at the 56-minute mark, like you're so close to the time limit, but it did still surprise me, and maybe that's why they did it like that. I can completely understand people's qualms with this match, and by no means is it perfect. For me, I thoroughly enjoyed all 56 minutes and look forward to whenever they run this one back. 4 stars."
[9.0] "Started slow with a few minutes of feeling each other out. They've not fought in a singles match in quite a while. Some tests of strength and exchanging holds. A few strikes, with Utami taking those kicks. Before they took it to the outside and things ramped up. The crowd was mostly behind Utami with a few for Takumi. Loved that the roster were all ringside to cheer for their leader Utami, and the few Marvelous wrestlers present there for Takumi. Things got very good once they went back in the ring and the exchanges were brutal. It elevated further and further. The double KO was expected honestly, but I thought it would be around 45 minutes and not 56! But one hell of an effort by both to keep the crowd invested for that long and to go that long too. Joshi matches are usually 30 max, with few reaching that limit. These two had a point to prove and killed it. Great match, both look strong as hell and the rivalry between Marigold and Marvelous carries on."
[9.0] "Pretty divisive match uh. I thought this was great. From the dueling limb work, to the selling my goodness. I was thoroughly engaged throughout the duration of this match but the double ko happening before the time limit draw is pretty woke lol. Whenever they run it back in a more condensed version, it will be way more revered. ****1/4"
[6.0] "I'm giving this 6 points just out of respect for the talent being able to go for almost an hour. That's no easy feat. With that praise out of the way, I have to say that I really didn't like this match. You could tell from the pacing of the opening salvo that they were going to be going broadway and that's almost exactly what happened. And the very slow pacing stayed almost throughout the entire runtime. There were a few great sequences but they were too spread out and in between long bouts of nothing but time-wasting. The concepts that they tried in this match would've worked out much better if it had a 30 minute limit instead of 60 so there would've been less need to stall. The ending was peak LOLROSSY too. What was the point of going 56 minutes JUST for a double KO? ! A very dissatisfying finish to a very disappointing match."
[10.0] "The leading Captain of Marigold & The leading Captain of Marvelous tried to kill each other in a highly entertaining war that did not even feel as long as it was and did not overstay it's welcome, at least IMO. In my eyes, a MOTYC."
[10.0] "AWESOME encounter between 2 of the top joshi's! I get why people doesn't really like it - it was long and the ending might not be the most satisfying one but those two women fought with each other for almost ONE HOUR, like i can't even imagine giving this match lower rate than 8, just because they did put their hearts into this and more important - their bodies. The first 10/15 minutes were pretty okay but nothing really exciting happened - just some grappling, old school wrestling and staring down for the audience to feel the tension - which you could easily feel because it had that big match feeling due to both titles being on the line. Rest of the match was very good, they told some stories - Takumi focused on Utami's back and Utami focused on Takumi's knee and both were selling those injuries very well throughout the match. I think the ending is what pisses people off and i can understand it because if someone watched it for the whole 56 minutes and saw that they went KO at the very end it could feel unsatisfying but it totally made sense - both were in this ring for an hour doing crazy stuff and simply they just couldn't anymore so it was really logical. I think we'll see the rematch maybe with some stipulation to prevent another no winner situation. Overall i really liked that match, Hayashishita was amazing and i saw more of Iroha which i'm glad cause i heard she's good - and yes she is! I would give it 5 stars but for those first minutes you could have felt they are saving lots of energy for later and it made those first minutes feel not important, also the ref was pissing me off with slow counting especially when it was time to hit 3 but still it's very high quality match that i'll definitely recommend if you have an hour. ****, 75"
[9.0] "This is going to be one of the most divisive matches of the year. I can understand both sides of the argument, but I really enjoyed this. This had a big match feel going in with both the Marigold world title and GHC title on the line, plus there was the element of the ongoing Marigold vs Marvelous feud. Utami and Takumi had the perfect demeanors, completely serious and ready for a struggle. When the limit was extended from 30 minutes to 60, it was obvious they were going to go long. The first five minutes where they didn't do much of anything only confirmed that. I thought it was fine very early on, but between the five and fifteen minute mark they needed to do more because that part was too slow. From then on, they picked it up and began to tell the story of the match. Takumi worked on Utami's back while Utami worked on Takumi's leg to wear each other down. Both did a great job selling the damage as the match went on. They mixed up what they were doing between the mat wrestling, submissions, stiff striking and big moves. There weren't a bunch of fighting spirit spots or doing moves for the sake of it, they beat each other up methodically and stuck with that story. It definitely played into the finish with Utami and Takumi going to a double KO after 56 minutes. No last minute sprint where they traded finishers, they simply couldn't go on after what they had done to each other. With the result, both champions keep their respective titles and that was the right way to go. Great match, but I do understand why people would think otherwise. 9/10"
[8.0] "The lenght of this match is not a quality, but a liability that Hayashishita and Iroha masterfully worked around. The layout was sound, with the unusual focus on leg/back work to pad thing and fill the time, with great selling from both (that expectedly was thrown through the window in the last ten minutes). By the way referee Tommy did a fantastic job. Utami Hayashishita is always great when it comes to build a long match that progressively increase in intensity, but here it was just a bit too stretched out. Meanwhile Takumi Iroha excels in bringing explosive burst of energy that help keep a match engaging, but here again the length reduced the effectiveness of this, they just could maintain the intensity well enough. There were still a lot of good things, they didn't overdo the big spots and kickouts, they also kept their finisher protected. Finishing the match on a double ko four minutes before the time limit has to be some kind of trolling from Rossy Ogawa."
[3.0] "I don't have a problem with long matches, I don't have a problem with draws, and I don't have a problem with long matches that go to draws. BUT if you're gonna do it, at least go all the way and do a time limit draw, didn't like the finish at all. In this case, them going for that long and both passing out before the 60 minutes makes them look a little worse, just go the extra 4 minutes! As for the match itself it started super slow and took a while to get going. Takumi controlled the entire first half. Match finally picks up a little after the top rope spot, but it didn't last long. Utami takes over now, back to the limb work! It took 40 minutes before some real moves were done. Wish I could say I enjoyed the wrestling before the finish but that's not the case, even if it's good in terms of individual performance it just didn't work for me."
[10.0] "It was one of the best matches in Marigold history. I don't understand why people hate the result. Everything was as logical as possible, especially in the context of the confrontation between two promotions. The match ended as it should have. I had a blast and I'm really looking forward to their next match. It was a clash between two people who are the main champions and faces of Marigold and Marvelous. With the way things are going The feud is the most important event."
[8.0] "Really good match. I was really hype for this one as I'm a huge Takumi fan and this was marketed to be a long, arduous fight. Biggest problem is that this kind of ending would've been better if the pace was a bit quicker. Great selling work and an awesome last 5 mins or so but there's definitely some sections they could've shaved a minute or two off of."
[6.0] "What is the point of doing a 56 minutes match with a finish like that ? It wasn't bad, some ideas were actually interesting and even well executed, i am thinking about Utami's leg work and her agressiveness but the match has a lot of flaws like the length, the count out tease lasting way too long (especially that at one point the ref restarted the count...) and that double KO finish...they could have done it in a 25 minutes match but no Rossy decided otherwise. That being said, some exchanges were really good (loved the slap exchange during the finish stretch), the storytelling was fine and both are really talented so it was impossible to do a bad match - ***1/4"
[5.0] "This was the weakest and least enjoyable match on the card for me personally. The way it started was good but seemed to rapidly drop into a monotonous circle of action. It never reached a peak or get me wholly invested, by the end I was just a bit bored and expecting it to end with a draw."
[10.0] "One of the best women's matches of this year 2025, a real 56-minute war between the legendary Takumi Iroha and the prodigious Utami Hayashishita, honestly this match exceeded my expectations, I know the two wrestlers perfectly and I know their level yet I did not expect the match to reach the heights, the selling, the construction of the match was very very good, the year 2024 of Utami was a little complicated but this year she decided to prove that it is still one of the best hopes of joshi, Takumi Iroha gave us one of the best selling legs I have seen, we almost had the impression that she was really injured it was crazy, congrats to Utami congrats to Takumi, MOTY Contender and 5 stars on my side."
[7.0] "A pretty good title match tainted by the worst excesses of Rossy's booking. This lost steam about halfway through and completely lost the crowd, with one of the most disappointing and yet unsurprisingly finishes of this year."
[4.0] "Not one of the worst match of the year but definitely one of the most boring, drawn out one by far. The attempt to build up big match feel does not work at all, with the pace never picking up for it to slow down at any point, but slow down they did with at least two ring out count out spot and numerous double down, like at least 1/4 of the match was just laying around. They had a solid story going with Utami's back giving out and limiting her power for her finisher, anyway Iroha switch to working the arm. Utami in response does the most 2k legwork ever. None of them have a submission finish, nor does it really play into deciding the winner. Iroha was still just throwing kicks, so much so she throw her signature combo at least 3 times, there is just way too much time to spare, 30 mins would already be too long for these two considering their current condition. Especially Utami was visibly struggling. 60 mins is just ridiculous. By the time they go outside the first time, the draw was clear as day. Anything after that was never engaging in any way."
[10.0] "[SPOILER] [5, 5 Stars] It was excellent, it's not only a contender at the Women's Match Of The Year but also one of the best women's matches I've seen All Time it was really too qualitative. I think it's my favorite match. It's crazy that for 56 minutes Utami and Takumi were just amazing, I loved the selling around Iroha's leg and even the fact that we had a lot of submissions but despite that they were all important and credible was too good. Then I thought it was going to go to 60 minutes Time Limit but no, I was too shocked. (*****, 5)."
[5.0] "This one felt like it was slow just for the sake of being slow to hit 60 minutes. The crowd brawling and limvwork just felt unnecessary and inconsequential."
[10.0] "An incredibly physical, draining battle that felt like a true main event. The pacing won't be for everyone, but I was completely locked in. Utami and Takumi delivered a gritty, emotionally charged fight that emphasized wear and tear over flash. The double KO was a bold choice, but it made sense given how far they pushed themselves. One of the most memorable matches of the year."
[9.0] "This one is going to be very divisive due the length and outcome but I personally really enjoyed it. It's just a great brawl with a lot of intensity."
[7.0] "I was engaged for about half of this but the second half it was so hard to stay invested. The crowd was so quiet towards the end just because they were exhausted and it affected me too."
[8.0] "This was good, both of them selling their injuries, especially Takumi made it feel like a real fight. I thought this would go to the time limit, but the finish they chose makes it even harder to justify it going that long. I felt the match dragging after the 40 minute mark or so until a couple of minutes before the finish. Still, this was very good and both of these ladies showed why they are the biggest stars in joshi today."
[6.0] "I thought the match was well wrestled, but had quite bad pacing, storytelling and psychology. Thought they just went slow for the sake of it, didn't include many or really any dramatic mini-peaks or nearfalls and the bit I really didn't like......they did so much work on Utami's back (very good) and Iroha's leg (pretty unimaginative) building to a finish that many of us were expecting and all that work didn't factor into the conclusion at all, it just ended on something very typical of strong style matches that'd never normally end a big match. As I say, I liked it watching it the whole way, but couldn't go higher than 7 out of 10. To me it felt like they'd decided they were having an epic match for the sake of having an epic match, rather than this great contest with organic ebbs and flows. The longness was supposed to make it this big grand spectacle rather than the story within the 56 minutes doing that. But worth watching to decide for yourself. ***1/4"
[6.0] "I don't mind very long matches if they have the necessary substance. I loved for example Syuri against Utami but this one had so many lengths and the pacing was sometimes off. It was unnecessary to drag the match out so much. There was nothing that could have been told in 30 minutes. Still solid but not a really great match that it could have been."
[10.0] "What an absolute war. Nearly an hour of pure, physical storytelling that never overstayed its welcome. Utami and Takumi gave everything and the fact they had to be helped out afterward says it all. Utami's focus on Takumi's leg was methodical, and Takumi's selling was top-tier. No overindulgent kickouts. just tight, focused wrestling with real weight behind every move. The double KO felt earned. Massive respect to both of them for putting on one of the most intense matches of the year."
