[7.0] "Okay, we're back on track until David Finlay faces EVIL. This was a pretty solid Tag Title Match, in my opinion. Love to see Ishii with some gold, especially with NJPW STRONG slowly but surely fading away, and I think Newman continues to be fairly impressive."
[8.0] "Finally some great wrestling! Ishii and Taichi make for a great hard hitting team, and I was actually really impressed by Newman too who carried the bulk of the load for the UE team. O-Khan was just there. Good drama, team work, near falls. Very enjoyable. ****"
"Count me in for a highly rated match with three of my least favorite workers! Show me what I'm missing.....7 MINUTES LATER.....no, that's okay. This actually is three of my least favorite workers in New Japan. God, I hate Taichi. Just make it end."
[8.0] "The fact that Newman and Taichi have to both fight to enter the G1 baffles me since both men have impressed me so far this year. This match was extremely fun, with only O-Khan looking like the outcast. Taichi/Ishii/Newman delivered. Gotta love to see Taichi get a title win."
[7.0] "This match was better than I was expecting. I wasn't too familiar with Taichi before the match, but he really impressed me. This match also had some cool sequences. 3.5/5"
[5.0] "***1/2 Interesting match, interesting chemistry, adequate duration for what they did, interesting sequences, normal intensity, I think they should have included more Hard Hitting, to make it a much more physical match, interesting pace, they were going at a good pace, they started a bit slow but picked up in time, good ending, the final sequences were the best and got the crowd fired up, good result, deserved for Ishii and Taichi, both deserve to enter the G1, (specifically Taichi in block A and Ishii in block B)"
[6.0] "Decent match here. Taichi and Ishii have really proven to be a great little time, and Taichi is the highlight of this match. O-Khan and Newman also have some good teamwork and O-Khan is as good as he usually is. Nothing too special but a fun little romp with a very hot crowd."
[5.0] "Just a solid tag. Strikes looked weaker than you'd expect from the guys involved (excluding Newman) and nothing really crazy happened. Ishii and Taichi winning is the right call though I think. Just a middle of the road 3 star tag. Crowd was kinda weak too."
[5.0] "This was solid one. They lose threats along the way and have a near fall to many, but not to the point it ruins the match. When Ishii is paired up with O-Khan, you get the best parts of the bout. Would have been better if their pairing occupied more of the runtime."
[8.0] "Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii vs United Empire was a great tag team match. The crowd was invested in the two veterans coming together and working well in their successful effort to capture gold. Taichi has become one of the more beloved babyfaces, so it felt like a triumphant achievement to see him win gold here. Callum Newman worked really well with both Taichi & Ishii in this one and felt like the first genuine really good match on the show (****)."
[7.0] "this match COOOOOOED. I'm usually not a big fan of great o khan but i have to admit he performs at his highest of level when it matters and this match was great. Reslly interesting the stat that newman and khan have one multiple tag titles together but they've never been able to have atleast one successful championship defense. The last 5 minutes of this match was sick taichi and ishii are the new iwgp tag team champs and im interested in what this reign will look like. Everyone having unique styles in this match but they all stood out in their own way. 3.75 stars"
[7.0] "Taichi is one of the best midcard veteran babyfaces in wrestling. In that sense, he reminds me of Mark Briscoe in AEW, but they're popular for different reasons. Ishii being gassed for Taichi was excellent."
[7.0] "A fun Tag Title match, more interesting than the Heavyweight Tags have been in a while, even if it is still lower card stuff. Tachi and Ishii are a cool team."
[7.0] "Always good to see Taichi and I am glad his team with Ishii has continued, O-Khan and Newman also looked solid and look more like a unit now than they did when they won the belts. Taichi was of course the standout and did an amazing job of anchoring this match and keeping it consistently good throughout. The last few minutes definitely built up a lot of excitement and made this a very tense bout with a lot of kickouts, and while some of the moves looked a bit clunky, it kind of worked to make this feel like a fight by the end. Taichi managed the win over Newman with a Black Mephisto and this was really good fun, a very entertaining encounter."
[7.0] "Good solid Tag-Team action from these two teams. Nice back and forth. Tai Chi and Newman with good chemistry I thought. Callum selling Tai Chi's suplexes well, making them look like the killer moves they should be. Ishii being his usual excellent self, and Khan doing Khan. Didn't overstay it's welcome and a good pace throughout. Strange to think how during NJPW's modern peak a few years back Tai Chi was considered something of a joke but now with a decimated roster is a wrestler who consistently produces above average performances so nice to see him rewarded for that."
