And punk and Cena have somehow managed to not have a good feud. Giulia winning was the best part of the show. Crowd was solid too."

"1) Can anyone explain me what happened to the Cody and Randy segment? We didn't get any replay, recap, anything. Maybe they will include some footage from this interaction in the video package before their match at Night of Champions. Maybe the segment didn't happen in the first place because of some technical issues? 2) Honestly, CM Punk's impersonation of John Cena's old gimmick was cringeworthy. First of all, it didn't make a lot of sense from a storyline point of view - it's not like Cena's biggest accomplishment was dressing like a douche and battle-rapping all the time (unlike Punk's pipe-bomb promo) and it wasn't poetic in the slighest, as the gimmick was effectively done long before CM Punk arrived in WWE, so I didn't see what point Punk was trying to prove besides "ah, because you impersonated me last week and everybody loved you for it, now I have to do the same." It looked forced, unnatural, out of place, and most importantly, second-rate - something straight out of Vince McMahon's era."

"[6/10] That was actually not bad imo, we got heat by a few segments with DP and Aleister vs Truth, then they involved Carmelo, that was not bad. We got a brawl between the tag teams and we got a good match between Andrade & Fenix vs DIY. We got Giulia as a new US Womans champion, that's a fresh breath, cause she is very talented and deserved it. Some connection between Jimmy and Jacob - I like it. What I don't like - is Nia Jax and Naomi, they're so annoying and I'm waiting Nia to get the hell out of the main-event and let some new talents come. And I still don't get the thing with giving Naomi a MITB case... Punk dressing and talking like Dr.Thuganomics was fun and Cena was selling it good, his mimics is a really high level."

[5.0] "An average episode of SmackDown before Night of Champions, with some issues, such as camera cutouts in the first segment. Only one-third of the title matches were decent. CM Punk dressed as 2004 John Cena for their final face-to-face before their Night of Champions title match. Not much else to say. Overall, SmackDown was quite poor, and it will likely stay this way until the WWE Draft following SummerSlam."

It's did an outrageous carry job for another poor foreign show. HHH should thank them profusely and give them a bonus. The final segment between Cena and Punk probably worked for most people but just didn't work for me. Maybe it was the right segment for the wrong crowd."

[6.0] "Average smackdown. Decent promo from Cody and Orton. Cobb/Uso sucks. Nothing happens in the match. The Giulia/Vega was okay. It was slow but I expected it. There are some nice spots. Very happy for Giulia. I hope that Giulia will be better used than Vega, whose reign was uninteresting. After a Cargill/Asuka segment that was good for hyper QOTR, we had an excellent Andrade/Fenix vs DIY. The match was excellent with suspense and always clean wrestling between these 4 names. Clearly the match of the night. Profits/Wyatt was a disappointment despite a decent in-ring performance. The DQ is strange, I think they've kind of killed the dynamic of the smackdown tag team division, well after that we're a long way from the RAW tag team division which is ghostly. Very cool post-match brawl though. Stratton/Jax was good despite being a bit too slow and Naomi wanting cash in in a last woman standing makes no sense. It wasn't pretty wrestling (which makes sense) but we did get some spots with weapons which makes sense. Stratton took a lot in this match which is good to show his toughness and using the briefcase to hit Nia to win the match is very thought out for the story between the two. I don't understand the negative hype of the Cena/Punk promo. The segment is cool. Of course it's not a serious promo, but I enjoyed Punk's trollishness and the fact that he sounds like Cena in 2003. Punk has broken the fourth wall again, which is good. Now it's Night of Champions."

[6.0] "I thought this was a little mixed show, as always the tag team wrestling was the best thing and Cody and Randy segment had so much aura that fcked up the netflix stream, Giulia is champion, Tiffany (hopefully) finally left Nia behind, but some of the wrestling here wasn't good and the final segment was dissapointing knowing it was on the date of the Pipebomb and Cena's debut"

[5.0] "What a show. Just real bad stuff but also not something you'll forget, sort of a you had to watch it live to truly understand it type thing. A couple of the matches were solid but between the crazy angle in the end and the technical difficulties in the opening segment, this was truly something. Essentially this was a train wreck but a fun one not a boring one which Smackdown often is these days, this was not a show I'll forget but not when I'd list in the best 1000 wrestling shows I've watched. A 5 seems high but it's too bizarre to go below that."
