[7.0] "I wasn't expecting it to be that good. Yeah, it had a dodgy Scorpio vs Flamingo match, and The Wrecking Crew vs Zenk & Brandi wasn't the best thing I've ever seen, but everything else felt like it was booked by Watts. The whole show revolved around Cactus Jack, who first got a convincing win, then got kicked out of Race's stable, and finally saved the day in the main event before cutting an amazing promo afterward. The main event itself was also very good, in my opinion, and I liked it much more than most people. It felt like a fight, and all the guys put in some great, aggressive performances. Benoit vs Armstrong was also a fun little match, with Chris getting himself over with the crowd, while the tag team title match was another very good effort from Steamboat and Douglas. Austin and Pillman, though, showed some incredible teamwork as a heel team."

[7.0] "This was a great card overall. Since I can't rate the first two matches individually, here are my impressions of them. Cactus Jack vs Johnny B. Badd: I loved this comment about Cactus Jack: "This guy is developing a following." If only they knew what the future held! This match was short, but not bad (pun intended since Badd didn't win). It was very amusing and entertaining, and I'll take a short but entertaining match any day over something long and boring. 6/10 2 Cold Scorpio vs Scotty Flamingo: I enjoyed this quick match, too. 2 Cold Scorpio can really pull off some agile moves. This was a fun match with enough back-and-forth to make it feel entertaining and interesting. 6/10 My favorite match of the night was Chris Benoit vs. Brad Armstrong, which is a hidden gem, in my opinion; both of those men were all over the ring, and in less than ten minutes, they put on a great performance. My least favorite match was the tag team match between The Wrecking Crew (Wrecking Crew Fury & Wrecking Crew Rage) vs. Johnny Gunn & The Z-Man. It was just okay, but not bad. I also really enjoyed the Unified Tag Team Match, which was a pleasure to watch. The main event ThunderCage match was great, too, with a surprise (to me) ending. As a whole, this was a great card, and it really surprised me, especially for a TV program! The arm wrestling bit was interesting. I recommend giving this card a watch if you're looking for something good that packs in a lot of storylines and feuds. 7/10"

[7.0] "WCW has started picking up momentum lately, and this show was a good example of it. The roster is steadily improving. Scorpio and Benoit were both very impressive as relative newcomers here, and I am totally on board with a big push for Cactus Jack. Benoit vs. Armstrong and Steamboat/Douglas vs. Austin/Pillman were both great matches, and the main event delivered in terms of both story as well as entertainment value. Cactus' face turn is an exciting development, and his promo at the end of the show is awesome. I'm loving Vader as champ with three big names (Sting, Simmons, and Cactus) all coming for him, too. A lot of WCW under the Bill Watts administration tends to feel very dry and can often be a bit lifeless. By contrast, this show felt like it had a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm, with a hot crowd and storylines that are moving in a positive direction. Really good installment of COTC that is hopefully a sign of good things to come in 1993."

[7.0] "Another really enjoyable Clash in my opinion. 2 Cold Scorpio and Scotty Flamingo have a great sub five minute match here which was my favourite part of the show. We get a ThunderCage match to main event that is better than you might expect. Brad Armstrong had a really good match with some promising young talent. There was a tag match I didn't care for and then one I did for the unified Tag Titles. Cactus Jack was my MVP of this show between his match with Johnny B. Badd in the opener to showing up to help Sting and Dustin in the main event. This show is also noteworthy as the last Clash that JR called."

[7.0] "This was a solid clash, with the last two matches being the best. Benoit/Armstrong was good, too. The Wrecking Crew wasn't all that, but nothing was inherently bad at all."

[7.0] "A really solid clash. Two really good matches in Benoit vs. Armstrong and Steamboat/Douglas vs. Pillman/Austin, a solid main event ThunderCage match with an even better turn angle for Cactus Jack, and a decent showcase match for Scorpio. Cactus vs. Badd could've been a lot better with more time, but did what it needed to do and kept Cactus fresh in the audience's minds for the main event. The Wrecking Crew vs. Gunn/Zenk match was maybe the weakest link, but even that wasn't really *bad* - it was a pretty standard-issue TV tag match designed to showcase a team that would never really get over, but it was competently worked. For a Clash episode of the era you can't really ask for too terribly much more."

[7.0] "I thought this was a pretty good edition of WCW Clash of the Champions. There was great wrestling in the form of Steamboat & Douglas v. Pillman & Austin or Benoit v. Armstrong, and the great main event angle featuring Cactus Jack's face turn. Cactus was put over big time throughout this show, having also defeated Johnny B. Badd in the opener, effectively making this the Cactus Jack Show!"

[6.0] "WCW at this time period, as far as the backstage climate was concerned, was an unhinged warzone (I guess it always was), but the talent of the core of its roster always shined through the shit with stellar in-ring performances. The first 3 matches were perfectly fine, with Benoit/Armstrong being a true hidden gem of the time. Zenk and Gunn were a good team but of course WCW was more focused on another shitty directionless monster heel team. The final 2 matches have shady finishes, but they're building to a PPV so it's fine. There was a truly bizarre arm wrestling match during the show between Tony Atlas and Vinnie Vegas that needs to be seen as it is the hokiest shit possible. Van Hammer, The Barbarian, and Ron Simmons were supposed to be in the main event but Hammer was legit injured, Barbarian was fired by his team during the show, and Ron Simmons was 'hurt' by Vader during the show. WCW, man."

[8.0] "One of the best editions of Cotc. Armstrong vs Benoit is a spectacular match, the tag team before the main event was solid and the confrontation between Simmons and Vader had a strong impact. Also the main event is a Thunder Cage match, a great stipulation for a tv event. Even 2 Cold Scorpio vs Flamingo was okay."
